It's funny that Louis is canonically always on the grind. He's investing he's a real estate mogul he's a multi millionaire he watches the stock market open and all his husbands are cringefail jobless art guys who also suck so bad. Except for human Daniel who has two pulitzers.

what’s the beef w kyle gallner
look i don't have beef with him. i don't have the strength to defend myself against his fans. i'm sure he's a fine actor but i personally do not find him sexually attractive, and that's a major barrier to enjoying his work because almost every flick he's been in is directed by someone who wants to fuck him, and the plot revolves around him being the sexiest man on the planet and therefore requires the viewer to believe in his raw animal magnetism. i do not comprehend this and so watching his work feels like being an alien learning about a human emotion i don't have the capacity to understand, let alone feel. strange darling was like fanfiction sex scenes being performed by muppets. do you know what i mean? sex from someone who doesn't know what sex is. ken doll horniess. but i dont have beef

my book report
william burroughs' queer is a book about withdrawal, desire, and control. the main character is burroughs' self-effacing self-insert william lee, a gay dope addict nearing 40 who feels enslaved to his lust for young men. lee lives in mexico city despite his racism and hatred of the city to meet drifting american boys, both because they may have nothing better to do than give him time, and because he only has a handful of conversation routines he's prepared for, so he can only appear interesting and sane to new people for a short amount of time before running out of them.
burroughs resented the idea of homosexual conformance and believed society at large would always view gay men as degenerate, which is probably why he wrote a passage about a positive and kind drag queen who turned the other cheek to homophobia dying from being disemboweled. burroughs was also in withdrawal while writing this book, and consequently it completely falls apart halfway through and becomes a poorly-written, unsatisfying travelogue. he probably would not have published it if not for getting a daunting and lucrative writing contract with viking that he was not prepared to produce the work for, thus digging up and cobbling together this 30-year-old frankenstein he'd previously half-gutted for his debut book junky.
this book is also clouded by the fact that it was written for burroughs' 19 y/o lover, and that it was written shortly after burroughs shot and killed his wife allegedly accidentally while drunk.
the character of gene allerton, who has no money outside of pawning his belongings, reluctantly agrees to keep lee company on a journey through south america and have sex with him twice a week. the journey is to locate a mind control drug which will allow him to turn boys into his sex slaves, which is revealed through an extended "routine" lee performs to no one about haggling with a slave trader who operates like a used car lot, so that when one boy grows uncooperative or boring he can trade them in for a younger model. allerton is rarely given dialog and when he is it is flat and distanced.
the closest thing to romance in the book is lee's need, which is periodically satiated, and his desire, which is never-ending. it's clear that a part of his desire is not really to be wanted in return, it's just to have exactly what he wants without difficulty until he doesn't want it anymore. so you can imagine my urgency to understand what the hell a movie of this by the call me by your name challengers bones and all guy is going to look like.
#queer 2024 spoilers potentially if you want to watch the movie without knowing about the book#sex slavery cw#chatter

Crazy how many people want characters in fiction to speak and act like they’ve had 20 hours of intensive therapy. Could NOT be me I want these bitches fucked up insane
#this is a symptom of two screenification i think. showrunners cant trust audiences to be paying attention so they have to just tell you#I am a character who is doing this because of this. You're probably cooking right now so you wouldn't have noticed if I didn't say.
