This is pretty close to what I headcannon yeah

hear me out, I think Astro is actually what caused the inciting incident at the dw museum.

Yeah yeah, Dandys a special little guy and he can turn back from a twisted and whatnot, buuuuut Glisten's whole deal seems to show that twisteds come from when a toon is in huge emotional distress, and a huge overarching theme of DW is how the toons are neglected and how their emotions go unchecked (or are maybe, possibly, deliberatly escalated? like the xmas toons?)

Almost every toon has some sort of issues to some capacity, and we know they all have their cartoon counterpart. Maybe their cartoon versions were a little lonely too, but I don't think so.. except Astro. Every main toon has some sort of pizzaz to them, Dandy is a little ray of sunshine, Sprout is the big brotherly character, Vee is a confident know it all, Shelly is super helpful.. and Astro's main characteristic was that he was insecure. Layer his default self ON TOP of the systematic neglect, and possibly children climbing on him and taking pictures, and it only makes sense he'd be the first to crack.

Maybe that's why he and Dandy are still so close, and what Dandy's hiding. He's protecting Astro from the blame!!

But eh, that thing around her arms is a jacket not her actual arms but I don't think I made the colours distinct enough to see that.
