i'm alert, it's a curse, yeah, it hurts i don't know my own strength ― red on my valentino.
evaluation day comes and hwan brings an old piece to the table.
the past days to week has hwan busy with a new experience he has never gone through before. sure, he has performed before in monthly evaluations and what not, but this time it feels different. with the freedom and creativity that they are given, hwan decides to bring out an old song; one that he wrote when he first started liking music, a song he first wrote after getting out of his slump from his child acting experience. a song that gave him a new life and motivations of living, and a composition of who hwan is.
before he presented his idea and song selection out to suho, whom had eagerly meet his excitement as they work alongside helping one another with the stage production of their individual performance, there is a small aching feeling to his heart that never leaves like a ghost residing in an abandoned house. as much as it is his first song, one he wrote many years back and despite the ones whom had known him as klein on soundcloud, had listened to it - he wonders if it would be enough to impress. wonders if he has actually grown with the ability to showcase his true self.
the ideas comes on later, that instead of performing as the song is originally composed, he settles with the idea of reproducing the song with some band music elements from his recent hyperfixation on tweaking with band application and watching movies with band themes. hwan decides that instead of relying on samples he could get online, he gets the help of doyeon and her bandmates to help with his preparation (though not without offering a sort of benefit to doyeon in the form of 'information revolving minseon'. hwan feels threaten that there is someone out there who is after minseon's best friend position but he knows that minseon would never replace him with anyone else).
it's a rebirth hwan thinks, when he takes a day to attend their band recording session that is held a few days before the evaluation day - the drums doyeon plays enhances his music maturely, the strings of the lead and bass guitars plucks out a heavier heartstring, and hwan's vocals and rap verse easily compliments his own song when he runs a practice round. the band won't be there physically on the day hwan gets evaluated but in that moment of their recording, he finds a sort of peace in music that he has never experienced before.
the evaluation day comes, as he gets himself ready for his stage. the coat he wears feels heavy on him; as if overwhelmed. "don't screw this up, hwan. it's your own song and you will own your stage" he mumbles to himself in his native language before he's called for his turn once one of his fellow trainee mates has their stage wrapped up. the raven haired trainee gets worried about the remarks, considering the judgement comes when each performance ends but as he positions the microphone stand in the center, hwan throws all thoughts aside as he takes a deep breath. it's do or die, the worst can come later.
his performance is simple compared to the others, but given how hwan's previous evaluation had him dancing and forming choregraphs and formation lines, such stage he present for his own comes off as a reversal charm. the mr version of his recording plays, starting out with a classic guitar intro as hwan paces around the floor as he gets himself absorbed into the rhythm. he closes his eyes and he places a hand over the microphone when he moves closer, humming along the second line of the guitar. the first verse comes easily, as hwan sinks into emotions by singing his line.
his performance is kept simple and clean with his movements being gestures created from his hand and arm motion. when the second verse comes, he takes the mic off from the stand, now using the stand as a prop. as the music progress, his movement gets bigger with bold gestures and body movements yet kept simple without any actual choreography. the drop of his music comes after the second chorus before he continues as he vocally scats to bridge and ends the song with calm demeanor, keeping an eye contact with choi yohan who's seated in front of him.
hwan bows once he is done and as a staff comes to take the microphone stand away before bringing in the props for the next trainee. he waits as the panel before him discuss among themselves as they write remarks, possibly in regards to their scores. jang hei-ran is the first to speak, "i must say, it feels like we are seeing a new hwan lee, to which, isn't a bad thing. in fact, it surprises me that you are capable of such calm performance in contrast to the hwan we know, who brings talent and passion to the stage. what surprises me mostly, is that you are capable of singing. admittedly, when you started the song, we were all taken aback with the genre since i'm sure that not only myself, but as well as ceo yohan and director haru, had totally expected a more rap styled performance. you have definitely built an image for yourself being a good rapper, but with this, you gave us more reasons to expect more. and definitely, we hope that you will get to shine more with your singing capabilities."
choi yohan adds, "it was definitely surprising to see how talented you could be. i would also like to give props to you for bringing an original composition to the table, and having heard the original version of when we first casted you, i must say i am definitely impressed with the way you had reproduced this song and the image that you have created. i believe we have ourselves someone who may be one of the best singer-songwriter of the generation. and of course, it would be nice if you have the confidence to showcase your singing in the future, hwan-ah."
the last to comment is the creative director, ahn haru himself. "my thoughts of your composition is the same as ceo yohan and consultant hei-ran, which we all know you have the talents for not only the basic skillsets of an idol but also as a composer and songwriter, but for me there was something lacking in terms of your creative performance. while we could see that you can write good songs and was able to deliver an overall good performance by bringing out your raw skills, it lacks creativity when it comes to showcasing yourself. it felt that you had played it safe by only using one prop to which was the microphone stand, but personally, i felt that you could challenge yourself to show an even better stage presence. you could try incorporating more usage of props, or a small bit of choreography especially when you get to the climax of your song. because it's only you in the stage and that there was no live band in particular, it felt rather empty with all consideration that you were doing hyped song as compared to singing a ballad that requires less movements. i hope that you would be able to utilize the space around you to not only fill up the lack of presence, but so you could feel more comfortable. even if you had tried to walk around each sides instead of sticking within the center, it would have brought up more flavor to your performance."
"thank you for all the feedbacks, i will work harder with the stage ideas," hwan takes the advice sincerely despite it being the first that he has heard of rather 'harsh' feedback in a while. at least with this, hwan now knows what he needs to work on even more aside from practicing his singing and composition skills.
overall, hwan is satisfied that he was able to execute his performance without any bad hitch, and that itself, is an achievement of his own.

❝ 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗮 𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘂𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 ❞ ―☆ 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 @yejunhd ―☆ 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼, 𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴
when hwan first met yejun upon the younger male being introduced to other fellow kiss studios trainees, it would be a lie to say he's not smitten. not that hwan had fell in love at first sight with him, but rather yejun is an equivalent of what a siren would be luring sailors in with their voice. in this context, hwan is the sailor that is smitten with the way yejun sings. one leads to another, now hwan has asked for yejun to be his vocal guide for the song he's currently working to write on.
"it cannot be anyone else but you," the raven haired confesses when he offers the idea to yejun one day. "i wrote this song with your voice as it's guide, so it would be a huge honor if you could sing this track and work with me on this-" hwan remarks with emphasizes on complementing yejun's voice. "of course, i uh- i don't think i can pay you to record the demo for me, but maybe down the years i'd be able to gift this song to you- when i'm fully established as a producer and when it's time for you to debut as a soloist..?" hwan has one penny for a thought and a big dream but he hopes that yejun would be down with the idea. that they could both achieve bigger things in due time.
"so... what do you say?"

❝ 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 ❞ ―☆ 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 @hdtaejin ―☆ 𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺, 𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴
if the ground could dig itself up and bury hwan six feet underground then this would be the exact and right moment it should happen. you see, hwan isn't normally careless. he keeps his belongings neatly in his backpack that he carries around at all times when he's out. if anyone ever looked into hwan's room in the dorms, they would even find books arranged and aligned according to colors, sized and thickness. it isn't an obsessive compulsive behavior per say, rather he just liked things in an orderly manner. so when a day comes where he forgot to bring the charger of his macbook yet have tunes in his head, he settles for the old fashioned way of writing it on a manuscript; something he hasn't done for years now that he's reliant on music applications.
"shit where is it?" he mumbles to himself in his native language, spot checking every corner of the room he's been to for the day. he's checked his favorite studio and the dance studio but he's worn out manuscript book is nowhere to be found. he should count his blessings at the very least, because he still had the habit of recording his tunes on voice memos saved to his phone, but hwan being sentimental and all that, he cherished the book enough to start heading home and making a 'lost and found' poster for his book. surely there would be some kindred in the building that would contact him in regards to his lost book... wouldn't there?
he passes the night thinking he's lost it, sending a text to the group chat for his friends to keep a look out of his manuscript. the next day however, comes as a dread to hwan when he realized a fellow kiss studios' trainee has gotten his hand on hwan's manuscript. "sorry taejin- i think that's mine...?" he asks, unsure if the book held in the hands of the latter is actually his, but who carries around a manuscript if not for hwan only. (he's been called old- boomer to some even, and no one truly carries around books when technology exists)

❝ 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 ❞ ―☆ 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 @hdsuho ―☆ 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼, 𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴
working with suho has been an eye opening experience to say the least, since he had tons of fun with suho when they were choreographing together for 'the answer'. in a way he liked that they share the same braincells; that they both have creatives that balance if not, enhance one another and for that, hwan thinks he could enlist suho's help when it comes to planning the stage arrangement of his solo evaluation that's coming up.
perhaps there's some sort of adrenaline that hwan could feel rushing in his blood. a chance to showcase his individual talent, and perhaps even song has arise. there's plenty of song titles he could think of ― that he wished to perform. this was his time to shine as himself, with no other group mates who could assemble and fit their talents like puzzle pieces. it will just be lee hwan and him music.
"i think, after much deliberation, i was thinking of performing the first song i ever wrote," hwan confesses to suho as they sit in the dance studio they booked after agreeing with each other over texts to help draw the personality and creativity of one another out with their own music. "it's called child- i think uh, i might go arrange it to be in a live band style kinda..? as contrast to the synthesizer genre when I first made it- which was years ago," he adds, looking at suho for some sort of reaction. "what do you think?"

it's crazy to think how nervous hwan feels, like this had been some big exam or evaluations for sponsors or the bigger managements. in fact, while he does not know what it feels to take an exam as he's been homeschooled his entire life and he treats every evaluation he's done with equal dedication and of importance, in a way, the music he presents to this strangers seems to hold more importance to him. perhaps if hwan had truly delve his intentions within, there is a need to impress. there's a need to woo the man whom he shares the room with, like the birds he sees doing those fancy dances on a mating call when he used to watch national geographic as a child.
he watches as the man before him pays full attention to his music, as none like had done before. which wasn't saying much as hwan rarely shares his music, even to his parents. he has shared them anonymously, or at least on the website that lets your share music but he goes by his english name there so it's not like anyone would know who he is. nevertheless, he still waits. it's as if the room had deafen alike those in horror movies where one awaits their death, except, he could hear the bass of his music over the headphones even when hwan isn't plugged to it. he supposed, his music comes easy to him, he's read the lines of his composition time to time over that even when he closes his eyes, he could hear them precisely like a ghost that stays in a haunted house, a land where it is it's treasure and where anyone who tries to lay hands or step into their land, would be haunted for life. in a sense, he is the house and the ghost is his music. anyone who dared to step in and stay however, would be haunted alike.
after what seems to be a while, he snaps away from his thoughts at the commentary given, and he sighs generously when his nervousness melts away from his system and when he sees the man smile. "of course, it's uh, you're the first really i've shown this too, or like in general to any of my music. i think that itself holds high honor- for me," hwan comments, nodding to his words.
if there is another sigh of relief that comes, hwan does his best holding it in. "i'm... i'm so thankful you thought of it like that-" hwan remarks his gratitude over the man's poised way of words. in fact, the way the latter carries his way with words reminds him of a certain profile he revisits on his soundcloud days. (thank god it didn't have one of those 'who and who has visited or seen your profile' notification, or god be damned over the embarrassing amount of times hwan has clicked on the producer's(?) profile.) in fact, if hwan thinks about it deeply without being overly fond yet appreciative over the remarks he's given, perhaps he could recognize the man's voice in the profile he clicks ever so generously of.
the greatest compliments hwan receives is being asked if he's a solo artist. to which he thinks, he's far from it. he's not prepared for it, and in his defense, he could point out more of his flaws than what he excels in. "oh no- i uh, i just like making music. just a random dude who writes and composes a lot during his free time," hwan comments and as humble as it sounds, he's far from cry. he's worked hard over the years of training sure, but hwan rather points out at his flaws. because to him, he would never feel good enough.
THE ACT OF SHARING IS — IN AND OF ITSELF — AN ACT OF VULNERABILITY. it's an attribute made all the more salient when considering the subjective and articulative nature of art, and minseon has never been one to take that lightly. he is not in the business of volunteering praise if he does not wholeheartedly believe it's due, and this has earned him a reputation among his peers for being... unexpectedly cold, a quality incongruous with the smiling front he dons for friendly acquaintances.
but the truth is this: that minseon's sincerity is the greatest kindness he can ever and will ever offer. so, for this benevolent stranger, he presses play, lets his eyes fall shut, and does not smile. he listens.
the track put forward is stripped in a way that delivers more than is immediately apparent. it demands attention in that regard, suggesting ferocity in a conflicting exhibition of restraint. one corner of minseon's lips quirks upward. when the song comes to a close, he remains still and silent, up until a gentle query invites him to speak. then, he cracks one eye open. "... well, shit." there's a playful lilt to his voice. "'s it really even matter what i think?"
nevertheless, he sinks into his seat and presses his cheek against the back of his chair, peering up at his companion obligingly. "... was delicious, actually. texture like velvet. rich. commanding." he searches for words. he's been chastised more than once for not expressing himself coherently. "... switch ups made me lose my mind; production's perfect for stage. think it should be published already." — and there's... something else he wants to disclose, but it's another thought he keeps close. the piece is entirely new to him, but listening to it feels..... familiar somehow, as if minseon were longing for something he never even knew was absent. he can't quite put his finger on it, but, for now, he pulls himself from that line of thought. "so, you wrote, arranged, and performed this on your own...... you're.. a solo artist, then?"

if there are chapters written in hwan's life of every important timeline that this would be one of it; bolded and in the fanciest font he could think of. sure the start of it may have been bad, especially after hwan had his episode, but at this very moment of mason sharing his secret and them being absolutely pure about it, is something hwan would like to remember for life. he's eternally thankful that mason would share this part of him with him, and to hwan, it's the biggest trust he's ever be handed to. perhaps mason may not know it, and the raven haired isn't sure if he would be able to tell mason about it yet. perhaps some day when he sees mason on stage where he shine the brightest, but for now, he would hold it in his heart that mason just so happen to be one of his biggest savior. not in terms of just seeing his bad sides, but how much mason had helped him grow as a trainee with all the years of their friendship and working together.
hwan listens earnestly when mason tells him about his goal. he lets mason have his talk to which he nods as affirmation, to let him know that he's listening well - that he's processing each and every words he's being told of. perhaps in some way, hwan feels himself tearing up with once again how he finds mason to be admirable. but the tears never came when he holds it down firmly. instead he smiles sincerely and takes some time for him to processing his brain thoughts to words. "dude," he starts. very typical of lee hwan to say. "yo dude can i like- hug you?" he asks, sincerely but before he gestures for it, he continues. "you're honestly one of the coolest and down to earth person i know. and i'm so happy honestly that you told me about this goal." he comments, taking his time with his words before adding on, "best bet i'd be there to see this happen, that in some way or another, i'd be there to see you and help you fulfill this!"
sure there's a lot of stereotypes and reactions when it comes to the autism spectrum but he knows that if there is anyone who is as strong and bold as to educate others on this, it would be mason. if the world and the people in it are against mason for this, for being himself, then best bet that hwan would not sit down unbothered. it would be great if ever comes the times for mason's goal to come alight, that the people would be understanding and that there would be mostly positive reactions than bad. of course hwan understands as well he could never truly control the world but take babysteps with mason. but when the time comes, he hopes that mason would find strength in him as hwan did with his friend.
"everything will be worth it." hwan assures mason in their native language. "you are worth it, and i'll be there to see that. to see your goals happen!"
hwanhd:
mason’s equal excitement makes hwan grin from one end to the other. he’s happy that he’s meet a good friend like the latter who shares equal passion if not more than him and hwan truly respects him as a trainee and future artist. given if they would not be able to debut in the same group and would have to walk different idol paths, he hopes that mason and him would be friends for the longest time. hwan could only dream truly, that if ever one day he becomes a talented composer and songwriter and if mason were to debut as a soloist, he would personally gift him a track or a whole album of songs. that is, if ever mason would have him in his journey.
“please that’d be so sick,” hwan comments, excited english spewing and truthfully, he could no longer contain his excitement. “you’ve been there for me when i needed dance practice, i’d be more than grateful if you’d choreograph to my music,” the raven-haired adds on.
hwan gives mason a light pat to his shoulder, happy to hear that he had been someone who mason could trust with his secret and glad mason open up to him just as hwan had to him. he makes a lip zipping motion and crosses to where his heart is, “your secret is safe with me, forever.” he mentions with a nod before blinking over the excitement mason displays. “c'mon i’ll take all the secrets you have! i’ll be your personal pandora box of secrets!” he comments with a grin, but part of him feels excited as well to what mason would tell him.
“You’re the best, dude,” Mason smiled before chuckling at Hwan’s eagerness; it was always nice to feel like someone was excited to listen to you. Even though he knew it was pointless since they were completely alone, Mason looked around for a moment to look and see if anyone had materialized to eavesdrop on their conversation. Obviously, no one had, but Mason still felt the need to lean in and whisper his secret plan.
“I have… this sort of… goal, I guess,,” he said, not hesitating because he didn’t want to tell Hwan, but because he wanted to word it properly. “I want to debut more than anything, but once I do that… well, more like once I’m in the public consciousness, like we get our first win or something, like after we’re sort of… known and loved, you know? That’s when… that’s when I want to go on weverse or Weekly Idol or something and tell the world I’m autistic.” He felt his chest swell at the words. “I want to show people all over Korea and the world that you can be autistic and still achieve whatever you want to achieve.” He then chuckled nervously. “And then they’ll probably kick me out of the group, but that’s why I’m waiting until we’re… I don’t know, until I’m a part of something first that people would be upset if I left? Does that make sense?” He shook his head. “I don’t know, I just… it’s kind of a pipe dream, but I feel like even if I get kicked out, I’d be the first idol to ever officially come out as autistic and I think that would be huge for kids like me everywhere, If I could get one autistic kid to see themselves in me, then it’d be worth it, right?” Once Mason got started talking about this dream, it was hard for him to stop, but he managed to stop himself in time to look up and gauge Hwan’s reaction.

“a great fire burns within me, but no one stops to warm themselves at it, and passers-by only see a wisp of smoke” ― vincent van gogh
― there's a fire burning within hwan. the evaluation day comes where he sets it out; let it burn, let it burn. the ashes that gets caught in his lungs makes him choke. he wonders if he would ever feel enough. (wc: 1059)
hwan should be used to evaluations by now with all consideration to his thirty months of training, but his heart thumps aloud when jang heiran enters dance studio number four with her team. he has heard of her before this; about how strict she was with high regards to details and vocal stability. upon her settling down, choi yohan is there to introduce heiran and her team before hwan calls out his team greetings as well with the other trainees; one of the roles he had to fulfill as the team leader.
they quickly get into positions to perform the song that they have trained for weeks now; a song called 'the answer' to which hwan had personally participated actively in during the song writing process and choreography that he worked alongside suho. the introduction starts in a teamwork piece of choreography, one he and suho had worked hard to make it seem like clockwork yet would visualized as 'entering a dimension' as such their song has reality versus virtual themes to it. suho starts the first verse with ease to which hwan smiles as he moves along with the dance, a feeling of relief wash over him but nothing to be too comfortable yet when he has to get to his part.
the pre-chorus and chorus breezes easily as they all coordinate their movements. by now, it would be hard to forget when they all worked hard practicing it hours after hours and as every day pass leading up to this day. in comes the second part to which hwan had took part with rap writing for the first time.
switch off, wanna get you out of my head, uh [all part] what you gonna do? what, what you wanna? feeling this kind of likeness towards you feels like a gimmick the truth i desire comes from within will you slip into my reality and match with me my love for you is wider than the pacific ocean
the confidence he gains to showcase his part in particular heightens when it comes to his verse. hwan executes his rap flow well, never stuttering or fumbling his lines despite his part being in the mixed of both korean and english. after all, hwan made sure to practice his verse at least five times a day; to memorize it by heart and mind, that it is inked on him forever, and he would never forget them like even after the evaluation is over.
his part passes easily and any breath he held during yejun's main vocalist parts were only sighs of relief when the younger male sings his part without faltering or having his voice cracked. with that, they wrapped up the song with high tension considering the concept they are heading for was defining 'their youth'. as the song comes to an end with their coordinated group dance and ending pose for each member, they take a few second to collect their breaths before gathering in line to say their thanks with hwan leading to it.
the performance ends and they're given some time to collect themselves as choi yohan, jung heiran and her team gathers to exchange reviews and feedbacks with each other before they're told to gather for their on-spot evaluation. each of his fellow teammates have their review done first and when it's finally down to hwan's turn, he steps upfront when being called; palms pressed together as he waits with anticipation yet nervousness for his evaluation result.
"first of all, i would like to recognize once again that you were able to fulfill your leadership skills and i could see that this time, your communication with the members work out smoothly." choi yohan remarks, to which hwan offers a smile and a quick word of gratitude. the ceo adds on, "i could even see the smile you had when suho was able to breeze his part through. and in that moment, i think that not only was it charming, but you were able to shine through as a leader!"
once again, hwan offers his gratitude to the ceo for his recognition and takes the time as well to thank his teammates for making it easy for him by listening well and providing feedback that helped with the evaluation in terms of choreography and song writing. his attention is then turn towards to jung heiran whom now inputs her remarks.
"i must say, the song we've given you this time, is different from what we originally planned for. i believe you were able to encapsulate the song itself with your song writing, and your rap verse in particular was refreshing to hear. it was something that we would not imagine hearing when we first had this song produced. and for that, i'd like to give you kudos!" heiran compliments him, offering a smile. in that moment, everything hwan knows by secondhand knowledge of the woman being strict seems to fly out of an imaginary window.
"however," heiran adds, returning to her stern nature, "it would have been nice if you had more singing parts, it seems the past evaluation from what we reviewed and the current evaluation had you rapping only. it would be nice if you would venture out of your comfort zone, and in that way you can grow to be an all-rounder." she comments, offering a piece of advice to hwan. the raven-haired trainee nods on the advice offer.
"lastly, i'll like to give you props as well for being able to tackle on the responsibilities we have given you. not only were you the leader, but you had to write for the song lyric as well and do the choreography. to be honest, i've personally kept my expectations low, and i understand that you've gotten help from suho as well in terms of the choreography as well, but we did give you the workload to test you all. thankfully, you were able to maintain the expectations, if not, to raise the bar higher of what we thought of you. you've worked hard, trainee hwan lee." heiran offers her last piece of compliment as hwan bows respectfully and thank not only jung heiran and the choi yohan for their time and advice, but as well as for heiran's team and towards his teammates once again.
the evaluation ends well on a high note, and perhaps now hwan feels that he no longer looked like a wisp of smoke that burns aimlessly to passerby's that stop by and be unbothered off. he thinks, if generously, he would continue to burn with hopes that one day, his fire would share warmth with his teammates, friends, family and fans. for now he thinks, he's enough.

it's amazing and absolutely endearing to see suho be all confident about his vocal. surely it's something that he could learn from the younger trainee himself. admittedly, hwan is not shy over the skillsets he has honed over the two years of being a trainee; he's definetely better than the hwan of two years back. though if he were to be honest, his confidence do falter every now and then. hwan is only human after alll.
"i'm sure you are," hwan easily agrees with suho's confidence in his vocal. "it might not be for this song, but i just know that at any given opportunity, you're definitely one of the top singers i know of in kiss- no, in hydra." he grins with nothing but the truth to his words. "ah, thank you-" he laughs before continuing, "well, i do hold my rap skills to a high degree- it's something i'm passionate about, i think."
suho is a good man, he thinks. many would give hwan compliments without actually giving meaning to it, but he feels how genuine suho is, and perhaps that is why he feels the heat from his ears when he's been told to show his proudest skills. it's something that hwan had definitely worked hard for.
"ah please- you're cool too," hwan response sheepishly, feeling his ears burning out longer than they should. "and of course, you can call me hyung.. suho-ah" hwan calls the latter with endearment, testing the waters of their now close friendship. or so at least to hwan, he would consider suho as his friend.
"let's get started then! do you have uh, a preferred style of choreographing? like if you prefer to sketch the positions first, or if you'll like to come up with the choreo first" hwan asks genuinely. he has seen some who preferred to draft the positions on a notebook while others get to the movements first. personally for hwan, he starts with movement first as it's always been only him. as this is his first group choreographing, he would adapt to working things differently.
surely, the puzzle pieces were going to fall in with each other rather easily. it already seems like that was falling in with the team so far, things coming easily with them figuring things out. he really looks forward to how everything else will play out and he's excited.
another giggle can't help but to leave suho's lips, head shaking a bit as he's feeling just a little bit flustered at the words. "you really think so? thank you," he said, head shaking just a bit more. sometimes, suho couldn't help but to be a bit worried about the silly things, and it felt like the pressure was a tad bit more. but, he was doing his best to really just shake that all off. especially since he's determined, he just wants to chase his dreams, and that's something that's coming closer now. "but, you're a really good dancer too! i guess that's why we're both in charge of the choreography, right?" he says, nodding his head a bit excitingly.
"i'm most confident in my vocals!" he says, chuckling happily. park suho was always the kid that you could hear belting some vocally challenging song down the hallway of the practice studios, that's how you could tell suho was most likely practicing. "i'm really excited to see your rap! i can't rap at all and i've had one rap class while a trainee before they completely pulled me out! so i've never gotten to see you rap!" he says, giggling as he admitted that about himself out loud, head shaking a bit.
he knows that hwan, yejun, himself, and the others are going to make a rather strong team. two incredibly talented vocalists, an incredibly talented rapper, it's a dream team.
he starts warming up, stretching out his limbs, and all that. he keeps his ears open as he listens to the song, head bopping along, simply because it's something that suho can't help. a small gasp as the rap starts, and everything just flows really nicely together.
"ah, hyung, you're so cool!" he said, chuckling softly. "you did a really great job, as did yejun helping out! it really came together really well!" he said, his smile growing a bit more. "ah, i can call you hyung, right?" he asked.
finally, he finishes warming up, getting fully to his feet. "i'm all warmed up!"
