Valentines Day
Ship: Brettsey
Word count: 394
Authors note: not proofread and only slightly based on canon cause I said so. Enjoy!!
——————————————————————————
Matt watched as Julia laid on her back, playing with the mobile toy above her, smiling as little noises came from her. He got down on the floor of the living room and laid next to her, gently grabbing onto her kicking feet.
“Hey baby girl. Having fun?” He asks, as she squeals in response to hearing her dads voice. They stay like that for a while until Matt hears the front door open, and sees Sylvie’s boots. “Hello my valentines!” Sylvie exclaims, as she takes off her shoes and leans to pick up Julia. Matt makes his way back to standing, with a slight groan as his knees popped (getting older wasn’t supposed to feel like this right?), and he meets Sylvie with a kiss.
“How’d the ride along go with Griff?” “Great actually. He stayed calm and collected until we got back to the station and then he had his freak out. Thankfully it only happened once and let’s just say Hermann and Boden went into dad mode.” Sylvie says with a small laugh as they head into the kitchen.
“Griffin doesn’t freak out over things unless it’s bad. Like enough to make me squeamish. What happened?” “An elderly person at one of those old people apartments fell and hit their head pretty hard. Lots of blood. And a broken arm. I think it was the shock of what he saw and how he handled it in the situation that made him freak out.” “Ok well that makes sense. Especially if it was his first time. I won’t tease him about it.” Matt replies, as Sylvie gives him a knowing look.
Sylvie puts Julia in her high chair, as Matt sets the table. “I know it’s Valentines and all but we both know it’s just another day for us, so I didn’t do anything fancy, unless you want to call a heart shaped pizza fancy.” “I love it.” She replies as she grabs the jar of baby food and a spoon, and begins feeding Julia. After the three eat, and Julia is bathed and down for the night, Matt and Sylvie curl up next to each other on the couch, House Hunters playing in the background.
“Happy Valentines Day babe.” Sylvie says, kissing his cheek. “Happy Valentines love.” Matt says, pressing a kiss to her lips. It was the happiest line yet.

Baby baby
Ship: Bob Floyd x Fem! Reader
Word Count: 678
Warnings: pregnancy, mention of childbirth (nothing graphic)
Authors Note: Not Proofread. Feedback is always appreciated!
You hear the door open, and listen to the pitter patter of feet as your two kids go to greet their dad. Bob walks into the kitchen with Eloise on one hip, Eden on the other. “Hey mama. You been feelin ok?” He asks, putting the girls down, watching as they run to the living room and placing his hands on your protruding belly, feeling the taut skin. He looks at you with concern, knowing you were near your due date.
“Bobby. I’m fine. Elijah has just been kicking for the most part. Up until an hour ago…” you broke off, grimacing as a contraction rolls through you. “Babe. Why didn’t you call?” Bob asks, pulling you close, his hands kneading your lower back. “Because this is baby number three and knowing my luck he’s gonna be late anyways.” You reply, voice muffled by his shirt. “Given the fact that you’ve been having contractions for an hour, I think we’re gonna have ourselves a valentines baby sweetheart.” Bob says. He knew that with the girls it progressed fast and he had a feeling that it would be the same with this one.
You on the other hand, didn’t want to believe it. That is until things got more intense in the middle of the night. “Bob. Bob. Robert!” You whisper yell, shaking your husband awake. “Sweetheart?” “It’s time to go. I’ve called Reuben and Maria. They’re on their way over to watch the girls.” Bob got up with speed and precision that only a Naval officer could have, and helped you to your feet, grabbing a pair of sandals for you, slipping them on.
You leaned on your husband as he lead you to the car, having to stop a couple of times for a contraction to pass. You meet Reuben and Maria in the driveway and tell them to go inside. You knew the girls would be happy to see them come morning. The pair of them knew that they would be watched by them when you left.
Bob made sure you were in the car, and hopped into the driver seat and headed towards the hospital. “You ready for this sweetheart?” He asks, his hand in yours, rubbing circles with his thumb on the top of your hand. “About as ready as I can be. Are you? Last baby and all?” “Yeah. I am. I’m ready to meet my son.” He says, as he pulls into a parking stall nearest the entrance. He gently leads you into the building and gets you checked in.
“Mr. and Mrs. Floyd, good to see you!” your doctor says, walking into the delivery room, and begins the routine checks. “You too Dr. Draper.” You say with a grimace, as you feel a pop and a gush of fluid. “Right on time doc.” Bob says, as she laughs. “Let’s get this show in the road!” She announces, as your nurses enter the room ready to bring your son into the world.
A sharp cry filled the room at 1:30 AM and you slumped back against the pillow, chest heaving. “He’s here sweetheart. Elijah is here.” Bob says, tears in his eyes as your baby is placed on your chest. “Hi baby boy. I’m your mommy. This here is your daddy.” You say, voice thick with emotions, tears running down your face. “Happy Valentine’s Day Bobby.” “Happy Valentine’s Day sweetheart.” He says, kissing you, as Elijah is taken by a nurse who cleans him and takes his measurements. “Little man here has a good set of lungs, ten fingers and toes, and a whole lot of love.” Dr. Draper says, as she exits the room, leaving the three of you alone.
“Happy birthday Elijah Robert. We sure do love you.” Bob says, cradling the newborn in his arms, swaying gently. “We love you. Your aunts and uncles love you. Your big sisters love you. It’s right that Valentines is your birthday baby boy. You’re so loved.” You say, as Bob perches on the bed, relishing in the warmth and love you share.

Pairing: Jake Hangman Seresin x Fem! Reader
Word count: 1.7k
Warnings: Smut, Oral Sex, Mention of Pregnancy
Authors Note: This is my first foray into smut for TGM so I apologize if things are clunky and awkward. Feedback, comments, reblogs are always appreciated! And for those who don’t want to read the smut, it’s after the hearts! MINORS/AGELESS BLOGS DNI
You stare at your reflection in the mirror, a hand ghosting over the bump that appeared overnight. “Darlin? Have you seen my phone?” Jake calls from across the house. “In the closet on your shelf!” You yell back, still staring at the mirror in a trance, not noticing him walk into the bathroom.
“Darlin?” He asks, meeting your eyes, a smile gracing both of your features. “Finally showing.” You say, as he walks towards you, cupping your face in his hands, his lips meeting yours. “Bean decided that the end of summer bash was a good day to make an appearance.” He murmurs against your neck, resting his head on your shoulder, arms wrapping around from behind, hands resting on your abdomen.
“This means we’re gonna have to tell the group tonight.” You say, glancing at him in the mirror. “Well everyone besides Penny and Mav.” He replies, placing a kiss to your neck, unwrapping his arms from you, as you nod in agreement.
You both get dressed for the outing, Jake in a polo and jeans, you in a sundress that was able to cover the bump unless you were obvious about it. “Ready to go?” Jake asks, as you slip on sandals, straightening and giving him a nod as he leads you to the truck, making sure you were in before heading to the drivers sides.
You reach the Hard Deck, Jake opening your door, and you hold his hand as you go inside. You’re greeted with bright hellos from the team, and a hug from Penny, giving Maverick a glance from over her shoulder. He simply nods and goes to talk to Jake.
Jake feels a clap on his shoulder, as Maverick stands by him. “So. You going to tell the team?” He asks, studying his pilots face. “Yeah. She started showing today and we figured we’d might as well let the rest of them know.” Jake replies softly, watching as you approach Bob and Natasha, a ginger ale in hand. You weren’t a drinker in general so seeing the ginger ale in hand wasn’t out of the norm.
“Hangman! You look good!” You yell, from across the bar, watching him blush and roll his eyes. He makes his way towards you, pressing a kiss to your temple when he reaches your side.
He asks a silent question as he looks at you, and you squeeze his hand to let him know that he could tell the group. “Hey, y’all. We’ve got some news to share.” Jake says with a wide grin. “We’re expecting!” You exclaim, an equally wide grin on your face.
The team congratulates you guys and starts bets on the gender, who's going to be the favorite babysitter, and names. You and Jake shake your heads at their antics but also place bets as well, figuring there was nothing wrong with friendly competition.
After a few hours, you bid everyone good night and make your way home. Jake running a thumb over your hand the entire ride home, a lovesick look on his face.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
When you got home and inside, you couldn’t help but bring Jake close, pressing a searing kiss to his lips. “What was that for?” He asks, hands on your waist, holding you still in front of him, as he closed the door with a move of his foot. “Needed to see how it felt to kiss a man who’s finally calling himself dad.” You say with a wry smile, running your hand through his hair, stopping at the nape of his neck.
“Yeah? How’d it feel?” “Hmmmm like there could be more.” You reply, and Jake’s eyes darken with want. He swiftly lifts you, hands behind your knees, making you laugh, as you wrap your arms around his neck making his way to the bedroom. “I’ll show you how it really feels darlin. Make you turn into a squirming mess underneath me. Does that sound good mama?” He asks, as you nod.
He places you on the edge of the bed, walking towards the dresser, rifling through one of the drawers, a small noise escaping his mouth when he finds what he’s looking for. A deep pink vibrator that was one of his favorites to use on you. “Jake. I don’t think we’ll need that.” “Maybe but rather safe than sorry. Wanna make you feel so good.” He says, as he turns to face you, not caring to cover the bulge forming in his jeans.
You can’t help but stare and he notices. He gives you a sly smile, and you return the grin. “Darlin, as gorgeous as you look in that dress, I need you to take it off.” He says, offering you a hand to stand. You take it and start undoing the strings at the front of your dress, as Jake moves the sleeves from your shoulders, pressing a kiss to the column of your throat.
You let out a small moan, hand running through his hair. “Jake” you say, as he finds your pulse point. “Hmm?” He hums in reply, the tip of his nose meeting the crook of your neck. “Need you. Bad.” You reply with a whimper, as he slides your dress off, feeling the cold air hitting your skin.
Jake pulls back, taking you in, watching as you chew on your bottom lip. Your free hand resting on the small bump. “God darlin, you look gorgeous.” He says hoarsely, placing a hand on your waist as he lays you on the bed. You smile up at him, as he places a hand on your abdomen, the other cupping your cheek.
You give him a look, removing your hand from his hair, and grabbing his hand that was on your belly, moving it lower until his thumb was on your clit. “Darlin…” “Jake. I need you. I don’t care how. Just show me how much you love me.” You say, as he brings his lips to yours, circling your clit. You involuntarily buck into his touch and he grins against your lips.
“I will baby. Don’t worry.” He replies, breaking the kiss and taking off his polo and jeans. You bring your hands to the waistband of his boxers, and slide them down, his cock at attention. You run your fingers across the tip, and he groans, his head resting on your collarbone.
“Let me take care of you first mama.” He says, removing your hand, tangling his fingers with your, grabbing the vibrator with his free hand. You let out a small huff when he removed your hand but didn’t fight back.
“Baby. I gotta know, can I use the vibrator?” He asks, and you give a simple nod, gasping as it rests against your clit. “Feel good?” “Yeah. Feels so good.” “Good. Love seeing how wet you are for me. With my baby inside you.” He growls, taking a nipple in his mouth.
Your back arches at how sensitive everything is and you feel a warm hand on the small of your back, a familiar coil in your belly.
“Need me to stop?” Jake asks, his mouth hovering over the nipple he was playing with. “N…No. Just close.” You say breathlessly, staring at him. “Let go darlin.” Jake whispers, moving his head down, placing a gentle kiss to your belly. That’s what made you come unglued.
You whine as you climax, fingers trying to get purchase on the sheets, and the hairs on the nape of his neck. “Jake!” You shout, as you see white spots in your vision. You feel the vibrator stop, and hear Jake whisper sweet nothings as you come down from your climax, chest heaving. You stare at him, a hand on his shoulder, and he nods.
He flips you over so he’s now underneath you. “Can I take care of you now?” You ask, a finger tracing his jaw. “Yes darlin, you can take care of me.” He says, voice thick with want and desire.
You place a kiss on the corner of his mouth, and move down to his jawline, and then his neck. You suck for a moment and feel a jolt of desire as he moans at the sensation. Your hands roam to his chest, fingers brushing the hair, pinching a nipple experimentally. “Darlin…” he gasps, arching into your touch.
You feel his arms wrap around you, keeping you in place, as you continue to play with a nipple, and kiss him. “Darlin!” He yelps, as you playfully nip his neck. He looks at you and you give him a wry smile.
“What do you want Jakey?” You ask, hand resting over his heart, feeling the steady thump. “Your mouth on my dick.” He says, with no hesitation, sitting up, as you slide down. You see how red and hard he is, pre-cum leaking from the tip.
You place a steady hand on his thigh, as you take him in your mouth. He immediately tangles his hands in your hair, and bucks his hips. You moan around him and his grip tightens, and you feel your cheeks hollow, taking him deeper.
You breathe through your nose, eyelids fluttering, as you hear Jake groan. “Darlin. Darlin!” He says, as he shudders, bucking his hips, and you feel warmth in your throat. You release him with a pop, and grin up at him.
He pulls you toward him, kissing you, not caring that he could taste himself on your lips. You both lay there for a while, until you feel him move. “Let’s get cleaned up.” He says, as he untangles his limbs from yours, lifting you off the bed, and carries you to the en-suite bathroom.
With a deft hand, he pulls open the shower door and turns on the water, testing it before placing you down and entering the stall himself. You both clean yourselves and then return to the bedroom. He hands you a pair of his basketball shorts and an old Naval Academy shirt. You slip them on, and watch as he grabs a clean pair of boxers, putting them on.
You yawn involuntarily, trying to stifle it, but failing. Jake smiles as he turns down the bed, watching as you get under the covers, and he lays down beside you.
“Thank you darlin” he whispers, one hand wrapped around you, the other under his head. “For what?” You ask, your hand resting on his. “Everything. For loving me, having a family with me.” He says against your ear. You bring his hand to your lips, placing a gentle kiss against his palm. “You’re mine Jake Seresin. I’ll give you everything and then some if I need to.” You say, as he places a kiss to your neck, letting the comfortable silence surround you as you fell asleep.

Missed You Darlin
Ship: Jake Hangman Seresin x Fem! Reader Word Count: 1,095 Authors Note: For @roosterforme’s rocktober challenge! Features The Chair by George Strait. Jake is a George fan and y’all can pry that from me Trigger Warnings: Mention of pregnancy, minor swearing, mention of being sick/naueseous
Jake watched the patrons of the Hard Deck like a hawk, waiting to see you walk in. He was getting restless, and it was starting to bug Javy. “Jake. She’ll be here. Don’t worry.” He says, clapping his friend on the shoulder, walking towards the bar to get another beer. Jake didn’t say a word, just kept staring at the door.
You had just pulled into the parking lot of the beloved bar, rifling through your bag for a mint to suck on to keep your nausea at bay. It was still early on in your pregnancy and you found out not long after Jake got on the carrier for the mission. When he came home just hours before, you felt a little sick, but told Jake it was just anxious excitement for him to be home, and that you had something to tell him after your shift at work was over.
You felt his ring sitting at the base of your throat on the chain that he gave you before he left, promising to keep it safe for him. You felt your ring, a light weight on your finger, and you smiled down at it, touching the ring on your throat with your free hand, smiling. You took a breath, and got out of the car, making your way to the entrance of the bar. You opened the doors, and were met with the sound of a jukebox, and endless chatter.
Jake’s head whipped towards the door for the umpteenth time that night, and his eyes met yours. “Javy, change the song on the jukebox. You know the one.” He whispers to his friend, a grin on his face, heading towards you, as the rest of the squad groaned.
“Hangman. Don’t. She’s got a ring on her finger.” Fanboy and Rooster say in unison. “Dumbass.” Phoenix says, putting her face in her hands. “Hangman, I know you’re stupid, but you ain’t dumb. What the everlasting hell are you doing?” Bob asks as he walks past him. “It’s fine y’all. You’ll see.” Jake says, making his way to where you sat.
“Well excuse me, but I think you’ve got my chair.” You hear a voice say behind you. “Is it taken?” You ask, a smile tugging at the corner of your lips. “No it’s not taken, I’ll be glad to share.” Jake says, sitting on the stool next to yours. “Hey sweetheart, is he bugging you?” Penny asks, a protective look in her eyes. “Pen. You and I both know I wouldn’t quote a George Strait song to just anyone. This is my wife, Y/N.” He says, as you give Penny a smile and a small wave.
Back at the pool table, the squad watches the interaction. “The hell is he doing?” Rooster asks, watching as he places a hand on your lower back while you both talk to Penny. Javy returns to the pool table, after getting the song ready to go. “Like he said, you’ll see.” He replies, leaning up against the side of the table.
“Hey darlin. You got my ring?” “Oh yeah! Here.” You reply, taking the chain from your neck, giving it to Jake, as he removes the band from the chain, and slips it onto his finger. “Feels good to have this back on.” “Feels good to have you back home safe and sound.” You whisper, as your hand rests on his cheek. “Darlin, you have no idea how much I missed you. Let’s dance. I got Pen to get our song on vinyl and convinced Javy to put it on next.” He says, leading you to the pool table near the jukebox. “I’m glad this is our song. The Chair is what started it all.” He says, pulling you close, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. “Me too. And there’s more to come.” You say, feeling the beat of his heart.
“What do you mean by that sweets?” He asks, pulling away just enough to look at you. You bring a hand to your lower abdomen, tears in your eyes. “I’m pregnant Jake. Found out two days after you left.” He stares at you for a moment, and then breaks out in a smile. “Really darlin’? Are you really?” “Yeah I am. Now as much as I love you and Mr. Strait, can we sit down and you grab me a ginger ale? Morning sickness is kicking my ass this week.” “Of course sweets. Mind if I take you over to Javy and the rest of the gang?” He asks, as you nod.
Javy can’t help but grin as you and Jake walk over, an arm slung around your shoulders. A chorus of questions starts to form, but Jake ignores them, nods to Javy and goes to get your drink. “Penny my dear. Could I get a round of beers for the squad and a ginger ale for Y/N?” “Comin right up Hangman.” Penny says, grabbing the drinks and giving them to Jake.
He heads back to the group, sitting next to you. “Ok, Ok, I know y’all have a million questions. This is my wife Y/N. We’ve been married for 2 years, and knew each other years before that. Javy was the best man at my wedding, and that little charade you saw earlier? That’s been planned since we got called back for the mission.” He says, wrapping an arm around you. You wave and smile at the group. “Hey guys. Everything Jake said is true. He’s told me a lot about you. It’s nice to meet you all finally.” You say, leaning into Jake’s embrace. “It’s nice to have some more ladies around. Being around all these men can be tiring sometimes.” Phoenix says, with a laugh and you nod.
You stay and talk with the group until late into the night, and Penny tell the group to leave. You say your goodbyes, and head to the car. “Did you ride with Javy?” “Yeah, I’ll drive home.” Jake says, his hand out silently asking for the keys. You give them to him, and he opens your door, before getting in himself. The drive home is met with a comfortable silence.
You and Jake head inside, kicking off shoes and stealing passionate kisses. “Missed you darlin. Now can we make up for that missed time?” “Missed you too baby. We can make up for that missed time, so long as nugget agrees.” You say breaking the kiss, squealing, as Jake lifts you over his shoulder and takes you to the bedroom.

Ok so I’m feral for this damn cowboy lately, so here’s some Rhett Abbott headcanons
Went to the University of Wyoming and got a degree in Agricultural Business with a concentration in Farm and Ranch Management (boy has brains and uses them. I like to imagine he got out of Wabang for a little bit)
He loves loves loves his cattle, especially the calves. Something about them just makes him happy
Has stated multiple times that he will not ever have pigs on the ranch. They stink to high heaven on a different level
Not a big fan of the rooster that wakes him at the ass crack of dawn but deals with it anyway. Names him Foghorn Leghorn after the looney tunes character
Always calms the animals in the barn when it’s storming or if fireworks are going off
He secretly adores the barn cats and the kittens and has been known to put the kittens in his shirt pockets when he’s cleaning around in there
When he has a free moment not working or at a rodeo, he loves to go fly fishing and takes you along and teaches you (and eventually the little minis)
He stops drinking when he finds out you’re pregnant
100% is the doting father he never had
I could go on and on but that would be the longest post known to man, sooooo there will be other parts!!

Steve glanced at Nancy in the passenger seat, as she rummaged in the snack bag, trying to look for the box of Cheez-Its that they had bought before making the drive back to Hawkins. He smiles to himself as she makes a small noise of triumph.
“Eyes on the road. Not me.” She says, catching him, a smile lighting up her face. They were headed home for the kids' graduation. It felt like just yesterday they were fighting demogorgons, and Vecna, and whatever other scary things had come into cozy little Hawkins Indiana. It felt like just yesterday Steve had brought up the six little nuggets that he wanted. How much life had changed since all of that had happened.
Steve rested his hand palm up on the console of his car, as Nancy rested her hand on his, fingers intertwined. “I can’t believe it. The little twerps are graduating. I wonder if Henderson is still trying to rock a mullet.” Steve says absentmindedly, as they drive past the gaudy “Welcome to Hawkins” sign that signaled they were finally back.
“Last I heard from Mike, he definitely is, and Eddie wants to chop it off. Eddie Munson of all people! He says it doesn’t look good on him, and he either needs to have his hair short, or grow it out completely. Not a mix.” Nancy replies, popping a cracker in her mouth, staring out the window, watching the scenery go by in a blur. Steve snorts in reply, letting go of her hand, reaching for the box of Cheez-Its in her lap, grabbing a small handful, tossing them in his mouth.
He pulls into the driveway of her childhood home, watching her closely. “Nance? You alright?” “Yeah, it just feels weird being back. It doesn’t feel like home much anymore.” She says, voice thick with emotion. He grabs her hand again, rubbing a thumb across the top of her hand. “Home doesn’t have to be a place, it can be whatever you want it to be.” He says, leaning over and pressing a kiss to the top of her head. He kept having to remind himself that lately, knowing that he was going to be asking a very important question soon. He didn’t have the best home growing up, but now Nancy was his home, and that’s all he could ask for anymore.
The pair got out of the car, and made their way up the drive and to the front door, Steve ringing the doorbell, and standing next to Nancy, watching her face light up as Holly answered the door. She loved her little sister, even if she didn’t show it all the time, but after everything that had happened, she tried to be close to her siblings.
He followed behind as she walked into her childhood home, embracing both of her parents, and he was given a bone crushing hug by her mother, and a firm handshake by her father. “Do you need help getting the bags Steve?” her mother asks, sending a look to her husband and son. “No thank you, Mrs. Wheeler. As long as I know where to put them.” He replies, shaking his head. “They can go into Nancy's old room.” Mike says from behind his father, giving Steve a sly grin. He nods his head, and goes back out to the car to get the bags and bring them inside.
He takes them up to Nancy’s old bedroom, which was still decorated the way she had it before she had moved out. “Steve. If you’re not comfortable sleeping in here, I can get the guest room ready.” Nancy says entering the room, watching Steve whip around toward her voice. “Nance, this is fine. I’ve always wanted to sleep with you in your room anyways.” He replies, a grin adorning his face, as he wraps his arms around Nancy. “You’re an idiot Steve Harrington.” “And you’re beautiful Nancy Wheeler.” She playfully pushes him and he lands on the edge of the bed, his grin growing.
“Don’t even think about it, Harrington. My mom would kill us both before we even had the chance.” Nancy says, as she sits at the small vanity next to her bed. “Ugh, fine. I’ll be on my best behavior I guess.” he huffs out, sitting up. “Thank you. I know coming back isn’t the best, but the kids are expecting us, so we’re doing this for them.” “I know babe. I’m more excited for them than anything else. Plus I have some things planned.” “Like what?” “You’ll see.” he says, heading towards her door, and down the hall. It was getting late and they were in dire need of sleep, so they both decided to get ready for bed.
The next morning, Steve woke up before Nancy, and couldn’t help but stare. Her hair fanned out on the pillow, mouth slightly agape. He placed a kiss on her cheek as he got up and ready for the day. He found himself looking at the newspaper with a cup of coffee in hand, and he found what he was looking for. An ad for a house for sale, that he had heard about from his parents of all people.
He had told Nancy he had some things to do in town, and that he would be gone before she got up, so she wasn’t surprised when she walked down to the kitchen to find Steve loading his mug into the dishwasher, and grabbing his keys from the counter. “I’ll be back before the party I promise.” “I know. Be safe!” she yells, as he heads out the door, yelling in response.
Nancy watched as Steve pulled out of the driveway, waving to him, as he waved back. She couldn’t imagine that he was going to see his parents, but didn’t question him when he said he had things to do. She had things to get done as well, as the graduation party for the kids was being held at the Byer-Hopper residence, plus she had a house to go see that she had heard about from Joyce.
She had wanted to own a home with Steve for as long as she could remember, and now that they were both done with school and she had an offer for a job at the Hawkins Post, and he had a job as a counselor at the middle school that started in the summer, it was the perfect time to come back and settle down, but not be their parents.
Steve drove to the home that was close to the school, the newspaper, and everything in between. It was the perfect place for him and Nancy and their future family. The neighbors weren’t bad either, he noticed that they waved at him when he pulled into the driveway, and saw that Eddie and Chrissy lived across the street, as Chrissy was planting flowers, and Eddie was trying to fix a sprinkler head.
Steve listened to the realtor explain the details of the home and the neighborhood, and he didn’t have the heart to tell her he grew up in the area, and knew about the house. He walked out of the home with a smile on his face, a pep in his step. This was it. This was home. All he had to do was talk to Nancy and make an offer.
He made his way to the Byers-Hopper residence to help set up for the graduation party that was being held that night, as everyone was going to be busy the next day at the graduation itself. “Harrington!” He hears someone yell, and he turns to the noise, and laughs as he sees Dustin coming up the drive, a box in his arms, with a toothy grin, and a horrible hairdo.
“Henderson! Good to see ya.” He says grabbing the box and walking into the home. They’re greeted by El and Joyce who are hanging banners in the living room. Steve braces himself for the tackle that he receives as he’s greeted by the young girl, giving her a hug. “Hey, kiddo. Hi Mrs. Byers. Is Nancy here yet?” “No, not yet sweetie. Mike said she had some things to do before she came over. But if you would get the tables from the shed and get them set up, that would be great. I’m pretty sure Jim already has the chairs out” She replies, stepping down from the ladder, admiring her handy-work.
Steve and Dustin head out to the backyard where they see Lucas, Mike, Will, and the Chief grabbing tables from the small shed. They help get them set up in no time, and soon the party starts.
Nancy is rushing to get to the party, hoping to get there before it starts, but she wasn’t too worried. The house she had seen was close by, and she knew she had time. She waved to Eddie and Chrissy as they left their home across the street, and followed her to the Byer-Hopper home, stopping to pick up Robin on the way.
Nancy makes her way to the yard, sitting next to Steve. “Hey babe. How was the adventure?” “It was good. Went to the Post to get more info on the position, and then did some things around town.” She says as she brings her fork to her mouth. “That’s good. Are you ready for tomorrow?” “About as ready as one can be with a sibling or five graduating.” she laughs. It took everything for Steve to not pop the question right there. He smiled and resumed the conversation he was having with Eddie about the latest Indiana Jones movie.
The following day, they sat in the sweltering high school gym, clapping as the graduates made their way across the stage, diplomas in hand, sighing in relief that they had finally made it. It wasn’t until after pictures were taken and everyone leaving to their respective homes that they had a moment to themselves.
“Steve…” “Nance…” “Wait, you go first Steve.” “Nancy. I have somewhere I want to take you. Is that ok?” “Yes. Please. I don’t want to go to my parents just yet.” “Alright. Well hop in.” Steve says, opening the car door for her. He drives to the house, and Nancy groans. “Nance?” “Shit. Well there goes that plan.” she says, sighing. “Wait. Did you come see this house yesterday?” “Yeah. How did you know about this place?” “My parents, and I came and saw it yesterday morning.” He says running a hand through his hair, laughing.
“We both went and saw the same house without the other knowing about it.” “Yeah. I liked it. Did you?” He asks tentatively. “I loved it, Steve. I can see us being here until we get old and gray.” “I did too. I already made an offer. Is that ok?” “It’s more than ok Steve!” “Good because this place is officially ours. We just gotta sign the papers.” He says, as they exit the car and walk up to the porch.
“How did I get so lucky?” “I’m not sure, but I think I might be the lucky one. But I do have one more thing to ask.” “And what’s that Steve?” Nancy says, not noticing that he got down on one knee beside her. “Nancy Wheeler, will you make me the luckiest guy in the world and marry me?” He asks, voice shaky, lip trembling, eyes filling with tears, waiting in anticipation.
Nancy stops thinking for a moment, and stares before bursting into tears, shaking her head yes, her hands covering her face for a moment, until she feels Steve slip the ring onto her finger. “Now we’re both lucky.” She says, cupping his face in her hands, giving him a sweet kiss, feeling his arms wrap around her waist pulling her close. They had found their home, in an unlikely place, in the most unlikely way, and she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Hopelessly Devoted to You
Ship: Jake “Hangman” Seresin x Fem!Reader
Word Count: 1.3k
Warnings: allusions to sex, minor angst but mostly fluff
Authors Note: for my lovely @unmistakablyunknown!! Also based off the song from Grease
You woke up alone. Jake’s side of the bed was cold and you weren’t a fan of it. This had been happening more and more lately and you were beginning to wonder if he was getting cold feet. You’d heard stories about grooms freaking out and leaving just days before the wedding. You didn’t want that to happen to you.
You wanted to wake up wrapped in his warm embrace, his green eyes bright and shining in a way that he only does for you. You’d have to bring this up to his mom and Penny if he doesn’t say something, and that’s not something you wanted to do just a week before the wedding.
You got out of bed and got ready for the day, even though you didn’t have to work. You went down to the kitchen, hoping to see your fiancé but he was already gone for the day. He did feed Rudy though, so that was nice. The small dog comes your way, sniffing at your feet. You bend down and scratch behind his ears, just where he likes it.
The day goes on with no other word from either of the men, and you can’t keep from worrying. You try to quell the nauseous feeling in your stomach, and your shaking hands by making dinner, turning on your music, hearing the first song come up, and you nearly break down as Songbird plays through the speaker in the kitchen. You wipe your eyes and continue on with the task at hand.
Jake is heading out to his truck when Bob stops him. “Hey is Sunshine ok?” he asks, as Jake smiles at the use of your nickname. “I hope so, I know I haven’t been home much, which I think is making her think I’ve got cold feet, and I really don’t. I’m just stressed and have been talking to Mav and Penny about using the Hard Deck as the venue so we don’t have to pay, and I haven’t told her about it, so I think she thinks I’m not there. And I need to change that.” He says, scrubbing a hand over his face, sighing.
Bob doesn’t say anything but nods in understanding as the pair walk out to the lot and to their vehicles. They wave a goodbye, and Jake starts his truck, hearing the engine purr, trying to calm his racing heart and frantic nerves.
He drives with music playing softly, singing along to If You Could Read My Mind, and the song ends as he pulls into the garage, killing the engine, and exiting the truck. He walks through the door that leads into the house, and hears Silversprings playing in the kitchen, and he sighs. He takes off his boots, and drops his duffle by them.
He goes into the kitchen, and sees you at the sink, peeling a cucumber. He finds your phone on the counter, and pauses the music, making you jump. “Jesus Jake, I could’ve cut myself.” you exclaim, as you whip around to face him. “I’m sorry baby. Didn’t mean to scare you.” he says as he takes the peeler and cucumber out of your hands and places them on the counter.
He leads you away from the sink and on the barstools placed around the kitchen island. You look at him confused, hurt, and scared. You feel a tear slip down your cheek, and feel the pad of Jake's thumb wipe it away, which makes you cry harder. How could a man this sweet be leaving, you thought.
“Jake…” “Hey, hey, hey. Baby. Why the tears?” “You’re gonna leave me.” You say through sobs, shoulders shaking. Jake pulls you close, chin resting on the top of your head. “No no no. I’m not leaving. Never. I’m just stressed with the wedding planning, and I’m sorry I’ve made you feel like I’m getting cold feet. I’m not.” He says softly, as he pulls you out of his embrace to look at you. He wipes more tears away, and feels tears of his own prick his eyes.
You take a shaky breath before speaking. “Really? You’re not leaving?” you ask, as he shakes his head, holding your hands in his. “Like I said, never. You’re my one and only darling. My one and only.” He says, as you bring a hand to the back of his neck, bringing his head to yours, feeling his forehead on yours.
“I’m hopelessly devoted to you darling. Everyone who knows us can see it, and I know for a fact you know it.” “Show me then. Show me how hopelessly devoted you are. Let everyone know when we go out tomorrow. Show them and me that I’m your one and only.” You whisper, your lips at the corner of his mouth. “I will darlin. Don’t you doubt it.” he says, as he stands up, picking you up from the barstool, taking you to the bedroom to show you how much you mean to him, the dinner forgotten.
You woke up the next morning with an arm wrapped around you, and you sighed at the weight and the warmth. “Morning dear.” “Mmmm good morning.” Jake says, voice raspy from sleep, and the events of the night before. “What are the plans for today?” you ask, your head on your hand, propped up on your elbow. “I was thinking about venues, and asked Penny and Mav if we could use the Hard Deck, and they’re cool with it, since they know it’s going to be the group, and my parents and sisters. I know it’s not the perfect one you wanted but I think it fits us the most.” he says, looking up at you.
“I love it Jake.” “Good I’ll let my mom know so when she shows up at the end of the week, with the endless amount of decorations she knows where to go.” he says with a laugh, which makes you laugh as well.
The day finally came, and you were in the small office in the Hard Deck getting ready. Amelia was helping you with your makeup, while Penny was doing your hair, with Mrs. Seresin at the ready with the veil. “What's that look for?” Amelia asks, pulling away from your face, lipstick in hand. “Just missing my mom and dad is all.” “Oh honey.” Penny and Mrs. Seresin both say, wrapping you in their arms, as you take a deep breath. “It’ll be ok. Now no tears, can’t ruin that makeup Amelia worked so hard on.” Mrs. Seresin says, as they release you from their embrace. You nod and laugh, sitting back down as Amelia adds the finishing touches.
You hear a knock on the door, and Mav peeks his head in. He smiles as you give him a thumbs up letting him know that you’re ready to go. He opens the door, and lets the other three go get their seats, offering you his arm. You smile as he walks you down the makeshift aisle, and you see Jake in his suit with Bob, and Bradley at his side, Natasha and Amelia next to your empty spot.
He gives you a smile as you stand in front of him, his hands covering yours. Reuben officiates, and everyone cheers when you kiss as husband and wife for the first time. You both enjoy the party, and when it’s time for the first dance, Jake gives Bob a nod, and the beginning of Hopelessly Devoted to You starts. “What did I say? I’m hopelessly devoted to you.” Jake says, taking you to the dance floor, as the both of you sway to the song. Both of you are hopelessly devoted to each other.

Headcanon time!! And a playlist for @girlmadeofstarlight cause why not
Dude loves George Strait
The King of Country was his first concert
Can and will sing around the firehouse
Usually a George song but sometimes has been caught singing others
Def had a crush on Reba as a kid (which I get)
Cried when he found out Chris Ledoux died. He went to all of his shows at the fairs that he could growing up
Not huge about the stuff that’s on the radio. He’s more an early 2000s and older kinda country guy
Severide has video of him singing along to Dolly Parton in the fire station kitchen
I’m so lonesome I could cry was on repeat after his divorce with Gabby
Has been known to sing The Chair to Sylvie at Molly’s
So much so that Hermann starts playing it when he walks in to meet her
Sissy’s song by Alan Jackson makes him tear up a little
If he’s brooding the house plays the local classic country station to cheer him up
Is in the camp that Hank Williams Sr. is far better than Hank Williams Jr.
When Ambo is the only one called out he always quotes Carrying Your Love With Me to Sylvie and she does it back
He listens to Angels Among Us after rough calls and every Sunday morning
He may not be part of a religion but he has a playlist of religious country songs that he listens to in private
If he’s got his music going and his door is closed everyone knows not to bug him
When he proposes to Sylvie he plays her favorite song We Danced by Brad Paisley
Me and You is def the song he chose to have Sylvie walk down the aisle to
The Chair is their first dance
When he finds out he’s going to be a dad he plays Love without end, Amen each time Sylvie tells him
His daughters love it when he sings How bout them Cowgirls to them
His son loves when he sings Watermelon Crawl
Stealing Cinderella is played as his daughters start dating
When his oldest daughter gets married and plays The Chair as the daddy daughter dance he get teary eyed
Always has a George Strait song playing wherever he goes. On a call, to the store. Literally wherever

Can you do a story of the Halstead siblings with their younger sister (14 or 15). They all have a family dinner (Will, Jay, and Y/n) together and movie night and Y/n starts choking and Will has to save her but they comfort her and they get all scared and protective and have to take her into the hospital to get checked
*as someone who chokes far to much when I eat, I related to this. Also tweaked things a little. Hope that’s ok!*
You and your brothers had sat down to eat. Will had made gnocchi with roasted asparagus for dinner and you were excited. It didn’t happen often that all three of you were home at the same time, with Jay and Will working, most nights you ate with only one of them.
You sat at the table, as Jay got you a glass of milk. You weren’t huge on drinking milk but Jay made you anyway, in his words you were a growing child and needed the calcium. “Hey Pipsqueak.” He days sitting down next to you, with Will across from you.
“Hi.” You say, taking a bite of your dinner. You can feel the piece of gnocchi go down weird, and you can’t breath. You start coughing and rush to the sink, Will hopping up to stand next to you. “Squirt, you’re okay, try to take a deep breath.” He says, rubbing your back.
You try to breathe but it takes a few moments. Once you can breathe you take in a big inhale, and one final cough. “Ow.” You say, wiping the tears that were in your eyes. “Dude, go slow next time.” Jay says as you give him a glare. “No shit Sherlock.” You reply, as Will reprimands you for swearing.
After dinner is cleaned up, you guys spend the rest of the night watching a movie and eating popcorn. Everyone making sure they ate slow enough not to choke.

Sicker than a Dog
Square filled: Sick/comfort for @resanoona’s fiesta bingo
Ship: none. Halstead Sister
Summary: Y/N is sick with a stomach bug and her brothers help her out
Authors Notes: Mentions of vomiting/being sick.
Jay and Will walked into the apartment to hear someone retching and then a small whine. Will sets the bag of groceries down on the counter and walks towards the noise, Jay following behind him.
“Hey Squirt, you feeling ok?” Will asks as he knocks on the bathroom door before opening it. He sees you next to the toilet, head resting on your arms, which are on the porcelain. You shake your head, not wanting to speak, in fear of vomiting more.
“I can assume family dinner is off then. I’ll let Hailey know.” Jay says, sending a text to his girlfriend. He leaves you and Will in the bathroom and goes to put the groceries away.
Will kneels next to you, studying your face. “Can I ask when this started?” “This afternoon while you guys were out.” “Just throwing up? Upset stomach?” He asks as you nod your head, sniffling.
He helps you and ensures you’re good to brush your teeth before heading down the hall to your room and turning down your bed.
He hears you head to the kitchen and ask Jay if there are any Saltine crackers. He catches your eye as you enter your room as he’s leaving it. “Hey, squirt, sounds like you’ve got a stomach bug. I’ll put a Gatorade in the fridge. Go get in the tub and then get in bed.” He says as you grimace, feeling your stomach turn.
You get in the bath, turning on a book to listen to. You stay there until the water goes cold, and then you slowly put on your pajamas and get in bed, leaving your door open.
Your brothers are sitting on the couch, watching a hockey game when Jay pipes up. “What can I do? To help Y/N? What’s she got?” “She’s got a stomach bug. It’s gonna take a couple of days till she feels completely better, but hopefully, with her sleeping, it should help. Just keep an eye on her and make sure she eats something. Doesn’t have to be bland, just something small.” Will says, standing up, and heading towards the door.
Will leaves, which leaves you and Jay at home. Jay eventually turns off the game and gets ready for bed. He heads down the hall to check on you and finds you sleeping peacefully, and he presses a kiss to your forehead before going to his room.

halstead!sister where she was best friends with nadia. but after her death she struggles with it as she blames herself for not going with her to get the cake for erin. she’s diagnosed with bipolar disorder from doctor charles, will and jay later find out that their mom was under review for bipolar before her death but they ruled It out to be the cancer.
Anon I’m so sorry this took me so long to write! I got busy with the end of the semester, but now I’ve finally had a chance to write and this one def got me in the feels. I did try my best with depicting bipolar disorder, but as I don’t have it myself, I wasn’t exactly sure how to write it, but I did try. Hope you like this one! And as always, my requests are open!
You had woken up shaking. You kept seeing her in your dreams, and you hated it. If only you had been with her to get the cake for Erin three years ago, Nadia might not be dead. You silently got out of bed and went to the kitchen to get a glass of water, making sure not to wake Jay. As you lean against the counter, drink in hand, all you can think of is her. Her her her. Her face, the lifeless look in her eyes as she lay in her casket.
You were doing so good lately, and then the nightmares came back, bad enough that you brought up to your brothers about seeing Dr. Charles. “Pipsqueak, what are you doing up this late?” Jay says as he pads into the kitchen, grabbing a glass from the cupboard and filling it with water. “Couldn’t sleep. Nightmares again,” you reply, placing the glass in the sink and sitting on the barstool against the counter. “I think I should see Dr. Charles and see why this is happening, aside from my friend dying. Even if it’s been like three years since Nadia died,” you say quietly, gaging the look on your brother's face. “If you think that’s the right choice, let Will know, and we can get you an appointment set up.” He replies, taking a seat next to you. You lay your head on his shoulder, and you both stay like that for a while.
You hang out in the waiting room for a while until you get a text from Will to you and Jay asking if you could all meet in the cafeteria. You didn’t even realize Jay was around until you felt his arms wrap around you as you stood and headed to the cafeteria.
You see Will and Dr. Charles sitting at a small table and joining them. “Hi Y/N, I’m Dr. Charles; nice to meet you finally.” Dr. Charles says, extending a hand. You shake it and greet him as you and Jay sit down. “So I understand you may think something is wrong mentally since your friend died three years ago. Am I right in this understanding?” “Yes, sir, at first I thought it was just the grieving process, but now I’m not sure, and honestly, it scares me not knowing and understanding why I can go from being just fine and happy one month and then barely being able to get out of bed and being the most irritable and angry person the next. I feel bad whenever mood swings hit because then I take it out on Will and Jay and all my friends, and I want to feel better.” Jay rubs your back as you wipe the tears off of your face. “I see. I want to get you upstairs and check in for an appointment and run some tests. I have an idea of what’s going on, but I want to be 100% sure. I’ll have Will fill me in on family history so we can get a headstart on this.” he replies, standing up and shaking your hand again.
You and Jay make your way to the mental health wing, and while you feel nervous, it’s like a good kind of nervous, as weird as that sounds. “I hope we can figure out what’s going on because I want to get better.” “We will pipsqueak. We will. Dr. Charles is one of the best; he knows what he’s doing.” Jay replies, ruffling your hair as you head into the room, where Will and Dr. Charles are already waiting.
You were handed some papers to fill out about your mental health while Dr. Charles talked to your brothers outside the room. They all come back in, and Dr. Charles looks at the paperwork before handing it to the nurse. “Y/N, it sounds like you have Bipolar Disorder. Now, this can be treated easily with therapy and medication. And I do have to let you know that I did begin to treat your mother for the same thing before she passed but assumed that it was cancer that was causing her mood swings as we did catch it later than with you.” he says gently as you sighed with relief. You finally figured out what was going on and that it’s easy to manage. “That’s a lot of information all at once, but ok. I can go to therapy and take medication. I know these two will help keep me on track.” you laugh, nudging your brothers, who smile at you. Dr. Charles ordered the medications and set up a therapy appointment.
As you and Jay walked out of Med, you with your medications in hand, Jay making sure his badge was on him, you smiled at each other and knew that things would get better; it would just take time.

Big Brothers and Broken Hearts
Authors Note: Hey y’all this is my first piece without a prompt! Hope ya like it!
Word count: 622 words
——————————————————————————
All you wanted to do was curl up on the couch, watch a cheesy rom-com, and maybe just maybe scream and cry. You’d had your heart broken by your now ex, and didn’t want to deal with the world, or your brother for that matter, but if he saw you crying he would wonder what was up.
Before you could do what you wanted, you had to get done with work first. Which you had lost motivation for after lunch. Finally the time came to clock out, and you took the moment to get out of the spare bedroom/office as quick as you could. You went down the hall to your bedroom and threw on a pair of sweats, grabbed a blanket and plopped down on the couch and found a movie to watch.
A few hours later you heard the door open, and heard the voices of Jay and Hailey as they entered their home. What you didn’t realize was that you had started to silently cry while watching the movie. You quickly wiped the tears off your cheeks and went into the kitchen to greet them. Hailey caught your eye first and gave you a sympathetic nod, whispering something to Jay. Jay watched as she left the room, and then turned his attention to you.
“I know that look Y/N. Bad day at work?” He asked brow furrowing. You simply shook your head knowing that if you spoke you would be a blubbering mess. Jay stared, and you knew you had to say something or this would go on all night. “Jared cheated on me.” You whispered, not wanting to look at your brother. You were numb and didn’t process that after you had said that, Jay had led you to the couch and sat you down and held you like he would when you were little. He held you as you cried, tears soaking his shirt.
“Oh pipsqueak, I’m sorry this happened. I really am.” He whispered as he pressed a kiss to your head. That made you cry harder, and eventually the crying turned into full blown sobbing. Jay ran his fingers through your hair and stopped only when you started to speak. “Jay I thought he loved me. I really did. And then I saw him making out with another girl and I just didn’t want to believe it. God I was stupid for thinking that we could work things out. We fought the day before I found him making out with the other girl and I wish he would have just dumped me instead of cheating on me. That bastard!“ You yelled causing Jay to jump a little and Hailey to ask from another room if everything was okay.
“Well pipsqueak, I have to agree, he’s a bastard. But as far as love goes, you shouldn’t have to worry about that for a while. I say let yourself be mad, sad, or whatever else for a while and process this before trying to date again.” Jay replies looking you straight in the eye. You give him a small smile before moving away from him to make room for Hailey on the couch. She rubbed your knee and opened her arms so you could give her a hug. She held you for a while before Jay asked about turning on a movie. Once you had all agreed on a movie, you had somehow become squished in between your brother and his wife, both of them wrapping their arms around you.
That’s when you knew that they loved you more than anyone else in the world. You sank into their embrace and gave them a smile. The night went on, and you knew that things would be ok.

Thanks for the ask!!! This made me write my very first halstead sister piece, based off an experience I’ve had and it was nice just to write again!!!
*Here’s my favorite section*
Jay looked at you with wonder, trying to figure out what you had gotten yourself into this time. You had somehow managed to fall between the side of your desk and bed and needed some help getting unstuck. “Y/N, how did you manage this?“ he asked, trying not to laugh as he stands in your doorway.

5 + 1
Square filled: 5 + 1 for @resanoona’s fiesta bingo
Ship: Halstett (Will and Sylvie)
Summary: 5 times Will tells Sylvie he loves her, and the 1 time, he doesn’t.
Author Notes: Wrote this in like an hour, so any mistakes are 100% because of that. Also this is my first Halstett piece! Enjoy!!
1. The first time he says it, they’re lying in bed, his fingers running through her hair as she traces the space between the freckles on his shoulders, the soft morning light peeking through the bedroom window. He presses a kiss to her lips, soft and sweet, and feels her hand cups his cheek. “What was that for?” She asks as she rests her head on her free hand. “Because I love you,” Will replies, as he sees a smile come across her face. “I love you too.”
2. The second time he says it, he blurts it out as he runs out the door, trying to make it to work on time. It’s Sylvie’s day off, and they spent just a little too long laying in bed that morning. “Hey, hun, don’t you have work today?” Sylvie asks as she watches Will's eyes widen in panic and can’t help but giggle. He hops out of bed and rushes to the shower. She gets out from under the warm covers and heads to the kitchen to start the coffee. She’s just finished pouring her cup when Will rushes out, hair still wet. “Got your coffee and a bagel already in your bag.” “Thanks, dear. Love you!” He shouts as he runs out the door and to his car.
3. The third time he says it, it’s after he finds out that the ambulance had been run off the road. He’s understandably worried and asks Goodwin if he could head to the station. He gets permission and bumps into Severide as he gets there. “Halstead, she’s fine. I won’t tell you not to worry cause I get it. She’s in the common room.” He says as Will gives him a nod. “Sylvie?” “Will. I’m safe; I’m ok.” “I know. My heart knew that, but my brain didn’t. I needed to see it in person.” “I knew you would.” “I love you. And this scared me. Don’t do it again.” He says, voice thick. “Love you too. I’ll try not to.” She replies as she pulls him into an embrace.
4. The fourth time he says it, it’s their wedding day. The ceremony was simple, beautiful, and them. It’s while they’re dancing on the patio at Molly’s that the first I love you as husband and wife is said. They watch as their friends and family celebrate with them, couples dancing with each other around them. “Will?” “Hmm?” “Thank you for this. For all of this.” “Always Mrs. Halstead. Anything for you. I love you.” “I love you too, Mr. Halstead.” She whispers, laying her head on his chest, listening to the steady beat of his heart.
5. The fifth time he says it, they’re both sitting on the cold tile of the bathroom floor. He grabs Sylvie’s hand and plays with her fingers, trying to calm himself. The phone timer goes off and makes him jump. “Love. We’re going to be fine.” Sylvie says, squeezing his arm as she grabs the test off the counter. “I know. This is just nerve-wracking.” He replies as she hands him the test. He flips it over, and tears fill his eyes. “Are we?” “Yeah. We are. We’re going to be parents!” “Oh, my lands. This is happening.” “It is. I love you, Sylvie.” Will says as he helps her up from the floor, catching her as she wraps her legs around him. “Love you too, Will.”
6. The sixth time he says it, they’re in a hospital room. He watches his wife sleep; she deserves it. She’d been in labor for the last 24 hours, and he was glad she wasn’t in pain anymore. It had started early in the morning and had only progressed late into the night. It was at 3 AM when Austin William Halstead was born, and Will couldn’t believe it. His son was here, and he couldn’t be prouder. He looked at the time and saw that it was 5 AM. He heard small noises coming from the bassinet near the bed. “Dad’s coming, Dad’s coming.” He says as he lifts the newborn into his arms. “Hey, dude. I’m your dad. That pretty woman who’s sleeping is your mom. We’re pretty excited you’re finally here. We love you both so much. I love you.” He says to the newborn knowing that he doesn’t understand a word.

What Are We?
Square Filled: Fake Dating for @resanoona’s bingo
Ship: Will Halstead x Reader
Summary: Will and reader are fake dating to get readers creepy ex off of readers back.
Authors note: My first Will x Reader fic! Enjoy 🥰
——————————————————————————
“Hey, Y/N? You got a minute?” “What’s up, Hermann?” “You’ve got someone following you around the bar, and I just want to keep eyes on you.” “Thanks for the heads up. I’ll keep an eye out.” You reply, grabbing your drink and heading to where you see Will nursing a beer. “This is going to sound nuts, but I need you to pretend to be my boyfriend. My ex is following me around the bar.” “Umm, ok, anything to get a creep away, I guess.” He says, grabbing your hand and linking his fingers with yours.
His palm is warm, and you try not to blush. “Damn, Y/N, are your hands always this cold?” “Yeah. Poor blood circulation in my hands and feet means winter is a pain in the ass, and I’m never warm.” You say, watching as Will moves to sit by you, wrapping an arm around you. “Well, we can’t have that.” He says as you lean into his embrace. You didn’t realize that he saw your ex staring at you, and he wasn’t going to have him try to make a move.
Eventually, the guy leaves, and you and Will drop the act. At least you thought you dropped the act, but something felt right when he was your “boyfriend.” You bid each other goodnight and head home.
As you got to your apartment building, you felt uneasy. Like someone was watching you. You grabbed your phone and called Will. The phone rings a few times until you hear his voice on the other end. “Hello?” “Hey, so about our date.” “Y/N, what are you talking about? Are you being followed?” “Yeah. I think so.” “Ok, our date, Library Center on State Street, Saturday at noon?” “I can do that. You picking me up?” “Sure am.” “Good. I just got inside. I’m all good. See you then, handsome.” “See you then. Keep me updated.” “I will.” You end the call and open your door, scanning the hall to ensure no one followed you.
Will was trying to get past the fact that you had called him handsome. He knows it was part of the act, but he wonders if you meant something more. He felt right earlier that night and when you called him. The fact that you trusted him enough to call him made him feel something that he couldn’t describe.
You were trying to process that you had called Will handsome. Will Halstead. The man you hung out with at Molly's after a long day at work. The man who would sometimes drop by the Art Institute on his days off when you worked just as something to do. “Oh, buddy, what have you gotten yourself into?” You ask yourself out loud as you get ready for bed.
The week passed without any problems, and you stopped feeling like you were being watched. It was finally Saturday, the first time you’d seen Will since you asked him to fake date. You hear a knock on the door and open it to see Will in a zip-up jacket, plain-colored tee, and jeans, much different from the button-downs you see him wearing at Molly’s. “You look nice.” You say as you grab your purse and lock the door. “You do too.” He says, offering you his arm. You link your arm in his and walk out of the building.
He opens the door to the car and makes sure you’re in before he gets in. He offers you his hand to hold, which you accept, and he yelps at how cold your hands are. “You need mittens or gloves, I swear.” “I think your hand is warm enough.” You say with a grin. Will shakes his head and laughs.
His laugh makes you feel warm and wish this was real. It made you smile even more. And the look on his face when he sees you smile, man, that solidified your feelings more. It makes you wonder if he was feeling the same.
You get to the library, and Will gets your door and offers his hand again. You take it and shove both your hands into his jacket pocket. He presses a soft kiss to the top of your head as you both head inside. “Not to worry you, but I think we’re being followed. Something felt off in the car.” You say, trying not to sound scared. “Hey. Look at me. If anyone tries anything, I’ll gladly fight them. Just stay within my sight, and you’ll be ok. I promise.” He responds, pulling you close.
You peruse the shelves when you feel someone pull you away. You’re dragged out of the library, and you put up a fight. Your kidnapper fights back and gets a few punches in, and lets you go. You hear Will's voice yelling and sirens. He had called the cops the minute he saw you be dragged out.
“Y/N? Can you stand up?” “Yeah, I think so. I mainly took the hits to the face. Might have some minor road rash, not sure.” “Yeah, you might. Let’s get you to Med and get you checked out.” He says, letting you lean against him as you walk to the car. He drives to Med and gets you to the ED.
He watches as his friends take you into a treatment room when he hears a familiar voice. He whips around to face the person who kidnapped you and saw your ex. He moves towards him but is stopped by Maggie holding him back. “Will. Don’t.” “Mags…” “I thought you told me this was all fake?” “It was. It is. I think. Ever since this started, I realized I have feelings for Y/N. I can’t stand to see them hurt.” He says quietly, shoulders sagging with the weight of the day. Maggie leads him into your treatment room, where you’re sitting on the edge of the bed, swinging your legs.
“The resident idiot has something to tell you.” Maggie says as they enter the room. “Ahhh do tell resident idiot.” You reply smiling at Will, as Maggie leaves you two alone. Will shakes his head and laughs. “Fine fine. Y/N, I realized during all of this that I have feelings for you. And want to really date you.” He says while looking at the floor.
“Will I have feelings for you too. I want to date you too. How bout when I’m feeling better we retry this first date? Library Center again? Just no ED?” “Yeah I like the sound of that. Library Center and dinner?” “Sounds like a plan.” You say grinning, grabbing his hand as he leads you out of the ED.
