Remember that if you want to do more of something, you have to do less of something else. It's that time of year where people set goals for the new year and they have plans and hopes and it's always focusing on what they want to do more of. More studying, more exercise, more crafting, more socialising, more making things from scratch. Okay, great. What are you going to do less of in order to have the time and energy to do more of those things you really want to do?

I do actually care marginally about the guy in that reddit screenshot who voted for Trump and is now worried that he might lose his medicaid funding because I did not fucking stutter when I said healthcare is a human right but the people losing their internships and job offers to the hiring freeze are straight up hilarious.

The former employee also mentions breadcrumbs found in Eliza's programing. The link above is the code work.

a lot of American leftists refuse to see members of the American military in the same light as other groups who commit atrocities because they have a personal connection to people who鈥檝e been a part of it. But there鈥檚 no world where you can have a cohesive worldview and somehow see the US military (a completely voluntary military service) as unique and innocent in comparison to institutions like the police, border police, the IDF, etc. the lengths people will go to try and absolve these people of their actions is insane

The continuing popularity of Marcus Aurelius and Roman aristocratic stoicism is so funny to me. Yes, accepting one's fate and the natural order of things is a novel and brave message from the masters of a continent-spanning slave empire. No wonder it's nectar to all the grifters of the world.
