Shikamaru and Athena: Art of Deception

Previously...

“I said it’d be a murder, that should imply an attack, a stealthy one, is incoming. I’m a part of the group that are planning this, but am not directly involved in this particular attack. I find the act of assassination despicable, so I’m ‘backstabbing’ my own team, so to say. Helping you out.”

How many lies can she fit into one sentence? She’s at least talented at sounding legit about her lies though, and she can’t exactly be caught for this one either. Who would’ve taken the Goddess of War and Stratagem for a trickster?

Maybe there was malicious intent to this lie.

“I respect you, Shikamaru. I respect your methods. I would hate to see something like this break you. Knowing you, you’ll probably have a plan to counter this... if you don’t already have one~”

She wasn’t lying about respecting Shikamaru and his methods, the strategical goddess genuinely admired this man’s intelligence and wit on the field. He’d definitely be her best follower if he did follow her.

I don’t exactly have the reach of a champion boxer, and I’m broke, but I’ll share this in hopes it gets to someone who can support this poor lad/lass.

So I guess it’s time to admit I’ve had problems with being abused in the past. My mom was abusive and sense then my step mom has become abusive. I have a plan to get out by getting the money together hasn’t been easy. I need $5,000 at least (so I can take some stuff I’ll need with me, pay my half of getting a place, and bring my cat (best friend) along) but am making a tipping wage with my boss stealing my tips. As such I’m going to ask people if they could possibly help. I’ve created a ogfundme campaign as I’m reaching the point of desperation. I’ll link the campaign here and for those who want something back for giving money I’m willing to do commissions for written drabbles, icons, bordered icons, and some larger edits. Please at least spread this around if you can’t help.

It was never easy to tell with Itachi, one might always assume that he were planning their demise. But in all honesty, he was content to be in decent company. Even if he was terrifying the poor man.

Not to mention this kind of interaction was... interesting, to the Akatsuki member, given his lack of such interaction.

Just because you’re technically supposed to be on opposing sides with someone doesn't mean you can’t engage in some friendly games with them. After all, of all the ninja he’s studied, Shikamaru seemed intellectual, interesting, someone Itachi could talk to without restraint.
