Tipping culture is something that I soon discovered was very much a foreign notion in Iceland. We do not require a tip but tips for excellent service are appreciated. Tourists may round out the bill or increase it by a small amount as a token of appreciation. Restaurant checks tend to keep coming with a service charge.

Tips are not mandatory on any of our trips but they do help the whole team and we always appreciate them. Generally a service charge in included in your bill. But if you do tip it is customary to round up the bill or add a few extra coins. It is more of a thank you than an obligation.

In Iceland tipping is not what you might call a generally accepted practice as it just ends up being part of the bill. Nonetheless tips of 10% even on a very good service is always appreciated at restaurant cafes and with tour guides. No need to tip the taxi drivers but if you do someone a favour than round up the fare.

Tipping is normal but not completely obligatory in Greece. If you received good service then it is customary to leave a 5-10% tip on the total restaurant bill. Feel free to tip taxi drivers and hotel staff 5-10% as well Pro-tip Keep yuh eye open for service charges included so OCDs don't double tip.

In Iceland tipping is not a traditional practice but it is becoming more common in tourist areas. Sometimes a service charge is already included in the bill at restaurants and cafes. Taxi drivers do not expect tips but rounding up the fare is appreciated. Tour guides and hotel staff may also receive a small tip for exceptional service.

In Greece tipping is an option and not mandatory. You will tip 5-10% in restaurants and round up taxi fares which goes to show just how appreciative Swiss are of good service. Also verify if there are service charges that were added as this may lead to double tipping.

Greece Tipping: Tips in Greece are not compulsory. 5-10% tip of total bill is appreciated for good service at restaurants. Leave it to the taxi driver is also common he will usually round up. Do be aware that there is already a service charge on top of your bill before you leave any tip.
