The Meaning Behind Hordak's Suit Gem 💜

So we all know that Entrapta makes Hordak a new exoskeleton style suit in season 3, right? And that the gem near his neck holds enough significance to him that he touches it before leaving The Horde and Entrapta. But does it have a deeper meaning? The answer is yes!

If you look closely:

You can see geometric shapes inside. And where else have we seen this geometric writing style in the She Ra universe? The First Ones! So now you're probably thinking, "What does it matter to me? Isn't it just a made up language?"

No! It's actually not! And DreamWorks released this handy pdf file to show fans how to read and write in First Ones!

"Okay," you may be saying. "That's pretty cool. Entrapta is one of the only people who understands First Ones writing and so left a hidden message, but we don't have a clear picture of Hordak's gem, do we?"

We sure do!!

If you look closely, you can see the symbols for "L-U-V and D" with v and d surrounded by the symbol for "DH", which means, if read phonetically, the word ENTRAPTA PUT ON HORDAK'S NECK IS "LOVED"!!!!!🖤💜🖤💜

My submission to the 8th Entrapdak Zine, hosted by @maireadralph. I had to draw this in a fair hurry, and it has an uncorrected perspective/balance problem. But hey, at least I got it submitted. This version has some very minor fixes.

Hordak's vestments and status derive inspiration from Revolution Hordak and G1, but the outfit is purposefully overblown. I wish I had had more time to sample the grayscale choices, but next time! (As this occurs sometime in the future, Imp has experienced a growth/maturity spurt...)

I want to think (although it doesn't justify it) that since the show was aimed at a children's audience, they didn't see it as important to develop into all the characters, especially them. I must admit I liked the show but apart from Entrapdak, Hordak's story is really what made me watch each episode, although my heart ended up breaking in the fourth season... I got Happy to watch him alive in fifth season, however, the development of his story was abruptly cut short, I suppose it was because it was the last season (maybe it is not enough justification)

For Entrapta, I love the fact that she has forgiven Catra, I really wanted that she is very punished but Entrapta showed to be the best in that show, I think Hordak and Scorpia were the only ones who showed genuine respect and appreciation for her, because the others... At least, Adora and Catra apologized to her... Entrapta is a great person, she deserved more respect and to be treated with more maturity, since she is also an adult character.

Ok, for Wrong Hordak, here I really want to believe that there is no time to deal with his trauma, although I continue to clarify this does not justify it.

I never understood why their trauma was treated as jokes when catra gets her trauma treatment with absolute seriousness.

Entrapta never confronted catra for betraying and shocking her, her time at beast island gets played for jokes.

Wrong hordak gets treated like a complete joke, his trauma treated as comedy then proper trauma.

Hordak trauma gets overshadowed and mocked when Catra took his crystal, the scene treats it like a badass moment when I see it as catra being ablest since hordak is a disabled character yet his trauma with his disability doesn’t fully get taken seriously and gets used against him so many times.

How is that fair? I love the show but that’s my biggest problem, the favoritism is so obvious in show and fandom.
