a week later

Paige groaned, rolling around the bed with her hands on her head, pounding from another hangover.

She turned towards the open door, facing her girlfriend who had knocked twice.

"Hey, you okay?"

The blonde sniffled. "Yeah."

Amaia nodded. "Okay. I'll be outside if you need me."

"Okay, thanks."

'She would've stayed with me.' Paige thought about you for the millionth time this week.

She remembered everything that happened that night. All she could think about were the possibilities, would you have gotten back with her if she wasn't drunk? If you guys were in a better setting?

She ran her hand through her long hair, missing the feeling of your touch as she opened her TV.

The moment she opened YouTube, she immediately recognized your face from one of the recent interviews you did for your new album.

She heard your voice introducing yourself, not even realizing she had clicked on the video and placed the remote down.

"-And i'm here to do the Wired autocomplete interview!" You grinned, making Paige's face warm up.

"When does the new album come out." You said outloud as you peeled the paper off. "It's already out! Go check it out on Spotify, Apple Music or any listening platform!"

"Does-" You read your name outloud as you peeled another strip paper off. "-watch basketball? Yes! I love supporting my friend, Azzi Fudd who is on the UCONN women's basketball team and-" You stopped yourself. "And yeah!"

The blonde girl frowned, feeling the jealousy pit at the bottom of her stomach.

"Who is the song 'nonsense' about?" You chuckled, tucking a piece of hair behind your ears. "That's for me to know, and for you guys to find out." You winked and grabbed another board of questions.

Paige paused the video, rushing to type the song on the search bar and clicking the first result that popped up.

Millions of thoughts raced through her head as she listened to the lyrics. Were you seeing someone else?

She grabbed her phone from her side table and pulled up her messages with Azzi.

Paige enters the club with her girlfriend, already regretting her decision.

The lights were blinding and the place was too crowded. Usually, she liked these kinds of places. Maybe it was just the person she was with..

“Come on! I’ll introduce you to my friends.” Amaia grabbed her arm and dragged her towards one of the booths.

She put on a fake smile as she introduced herself, already sensing all the questions she was about to be asked.

One of Amaia’s friends cleared her throat. “So Paige-“

“Uh- I’m gonna go get a drink.”

Amaia nods. “Okay.”

Paige walks over to the bar, ordering a few shots for herself.

After about six shots, Paige feels her eyes start to blur. The emotions were finally starting to get to her.

She sniffled, wiping the tears that streamed down to her cheeks as she stood up from her stool, trying to get you out of her mind.

As she stumbled towards the bathroom, she feels herself bump into someone, making contact with the wall.

“Oh my god I’m so sorry!” The other person gasps, grabbing the blonde’s arms. “Are you-“

Paige felt herself break down as she realized it was you that bumped into her.

“Paige? What’s wrong-“

“Stop! Fuck I can’t.” She pushes you away, trying to catch her breath.

You sit down next to her, ignoring the looks people were giving you both. “Can you feel my heartbeat?” You place her hand on your chest. “Try to breathe with it, okay?”

Paige nods, feeling a wave of nostalgia as she did the breathing exercizes she taught you before.

“You good?” She nods and leans her head against the wall.

“Uh- I’ll give you some space-“

“I miss you.”

Your breath hitches. ”You’re drunk. You’re saying things you don’t mean.“

“But I’m in love with you!”

“What about your girlfriend?!”

“I don’t love her, I love you!”

You shook your head as you stood up. “Get some rest Paige.”

Paige felt a pang against her chest as you ignored what she said.

Your head jolted up, realizing she was awake. "Took you long enough." You smirked, rubbing your eyes. "How do you feel?"

"Really weird." She slowly started to sit up.

"I don't think you're supposed to- okay we're sitting up." You grabbed a pillow, fluffing it and placing it behind her head.

"Thank you." She smiles, grabbing your hand. "Have you been here the whole time?"

You nod. "I'll go get you some food."

"Wait." She tugs you back to her. "Stay for a while."

You chuckle, standing by her bed. "I've been with you for like, a day." You sit back in your chair. "What's up?"

She reaches for your arm and weakly pulls you towards her. “Just want you here.”

You try to hide your blush and smile shyly. “Not hungry or anything?” You sit back down next to her.

She shakes her head softly. “I promise.”

You grin and place a soft kiss on her forehead. “Okay.”

She grins back sleepily and clings onto your arm. “I love you.”
