i know people care about what details it gives about taylor/jake but i love the fictionalised element to it. like taylor being a successful storyteller but as an author not a singer and having red hair to match sadie instead of sadie being made to look like her. i feel like it sort of removes it from being just like celebrity breakup gossip and elevates it into this epic tragic love story. obviously we all know the inspiration but it really stands on its own as a work of art. like i wasn’t watching it thinking “oh this is the story of a taylor swift breakup” i was just watching a short film about love and heartbreak and coming of age.

the queasy feeling when dylan and sadie start to kiss.... the growing panic when you realize they’re fully making out... that’s exactly how people should have reacted to seeing jake and taylor. people either ignored this gut feeling or completely didn’t have it, and that’s a problem. how blatantly the film cuts to the chase and doesnt beat around the bush isn’t just a perfect demonstration of how taylor is committed to allowing herself to fully present and process what she really went through, but of how committed she is to using her art to prevent other young women and vulnerable people from finding themselves in similar situations, whether it’s from their own heightened awareness or the awareness of people around them who can step in if need be

i think the real vocal difference is that on the originals you can tell little baby taylor is having to give it all she’s got full force every take, and adult taylor masters these songs so effortlessly and with so much control and confidence. not that she didn’t sound good before, she just sounds so much more relaxed in reaching that level. like she has nothing to prove, she has come home, she owns it.

i have a peculiar feeling that long story short is taylor’s response to/her “explaining” reputation...

reputation was the “battle that picked her” (major LWYMMD vibes) and she was being attacked “from all sides” and it wasn’t until she met Joe (which did happen during rep) that she “dropped her sword”

i hope you stop defending harry when he has traveled 24/7 DURING a pandemic and having this group meeting with paparazzi and shit just proves he doesn’t give a fuck.

hi! i hate answering these, especially anons, but i think this is important.

firstly, i just want to say that i wasn’t defending the wedding itself. not one bit. i was just talking about Olivia and Harry’s pap photos from the event.

secondly, whatever Jeff and Glenne planned really has nothing to do with Harry. yes, his attendance is very worrisome if it was unsafe, but from what i can tell, it was a very small, socially-distanced wedding. sure, we don’t know 100% if the guests were tested or quarantined or if the paparazzi were wearing masks (although most of the photos of Harry are him with very one or two other people and mostly with a mask on and LA County fines people for not wearing a mask). but, until we get concrete evidence that the whole wedding was blatantly unsafe, i’m not going to throw anyone under the bus quite yet. innocent until proven guilty, you know?

personally, i wouldn’t even think about attending or having a wedding right now or even going to the grocery store but, everyone at the wedding has more access to testing than most of us do. it does make me very uncomfortable to see people unmasked in public. however, it looks like Harry has been safe. there are recent fan/pap pictures (of H on set and away from set) from DWD filming that show H with a mask on and distancing himself from others. the DWD crew was taking COVID-19 very, very seriously (remember when they immediately took a two week quarantine when a crew member tested positive and, actually, only had one positive test in their whole crew) and had a very comprehensive testing regime.

thirdly, Harry has been in LA since before DWD filming started. he didn’t spend Christmas with Anne in London, was spotted in LA after filming ending and before the wedding, and there aren’t any recent airport pap photos. he wasn’t traveling 24/7 at all.

i hope everyone was and is continuing to be safe. if they were ignoring state regulations and being unsafe, then fuck it all. but, i don’t think they were.
