Funny how only one of these dictate if you're a good person (and even then, you rlly don't have to help someone through a rough time, especially if you can't help) while the other two are literally just... Emotions.

Adults make decisions about our lives, that's what being an adult is. We may decide to get a face tattoo, or quit a promising job, or join the army, or move to another country.

That's practically all we do as adults. We make decisions that effect the rest of our life, and then we live, or sometimes die, accordingly. Maybe i'll spend the rest of my life regretting telling my influential boss he doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground, but, as an adult, that's the kind of life decision i am allowed to make for myself. And after all, it might be the best thing i ever did. It's my life, and i get to do all the fucking around and all the finding out i want to.

surgical transition, or sterilization, or whatever... is exactly the same. If you aren't going to let a legally adult person decide for themself about that stuff, then you can't let them get a tattoo or move to Florida either

If it wasn’t for the relationships I was able to forge in my 20’s I’d be homeless today. Same with landing jobs when I had nothing. If I’d known it was solely about networking, I’d have gotten my ass in gear a lot sooner. Hugs to everyone who is on the spectrum like me and never quite got masking right. This world works when people like you, and although it’s important to be kind and a good person, it’s entirely unfair that we ‘have to’ be likeable in order to be deemed ‘worthy’ of help in any situation

young me especially would have hated hearing this but networking is literally the most important thing you can do to improve your situation like forget economic barriers to education etc just keep making friends with different people and eventually someone will offer you a hand up just because they dig your vibe and that is exactly all that's happening when undeserving people surpass you anyway
