BronyCon’s Final Event
For the past seven years, BronyCon has been a constant within the “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” fandom. Tens of thousands of people have walked through our doors to be a part of our community, with many more working behind the scenes to make it all happen.
It’s been a wild ride, but all rides end eventually—and BronyCon 2019 will be our 11th and final event.
As a group, we did not come to this decision lightly. Thousands of hours, hundreds of people’s efforts, and gallons of unicorn magic are put into every BronyCon. It’s a hard job, and one we do with love for the community. Love for the community that helped us make a major shift in cities in 2013 when we moved from our original New York home to Baltimore; the community that came out over ten thousand strong to set the record for the largest My Little Pony convention the world has seen; and the community that has raised over $155,000 for incredible charities like CureSearch.
However, as the fandom ages and changes, so too does the convention scene. Activity in the community has slowly been declining for the last several years, and while many of us wish things could stay the same forever, the one constant in life is change. At BronyCon, we could try to change, but we feel that to do so would cause us to become something that is not BronyCon. It would not be the event we know and love, and that we look forward to attending all year.
Rather than let our fire dwindle into embers that eventually fade away, we wish everyone to remember BronyCon at its best. Next year, we’re turning BronyCon into the best celebration of the fandom we possibly can, and we’re making the event bigger than ever before.
BronyCon 2019 will take place Thursday, August 1st, through Sunday, August 4th, 2019, at the Baltimore Convention Center. We're becoming a 4-day celebration for the first time, and we’re inviting anyone and everyone who wants to party with us to come to Baltimore and join us in one last incredible celebration of community, love, friendship, and magic.
We invite each and every one of you to join our celebration and become a part of the story we’ve written together. It’s a story of countless strangers who each found something special in a little thing called My Little Pony. A story of how those strangers came together in scattered locations, online and in real life, and who formed bonds of joy, friendship, and love. A story of those bonds touching life after life, spreading positive change and inspiring all of us to chase our happiness, whatever it may be. The story of BronyCon has been written with many authors. It is a beautiful tapestry we have all had a part in weaving together, and now the time has come to inscribe the final pages in our massive, shared tale.
To potential attendees, old and new—join us. To anyone who values and strives to live by the positive lessons MLP:FiM seeks to impart, you are welcome and wanted here. If you are a newcomer, we can tell you with certainty that BronyCon is a place to make lifelong friendships. We know, because it has happened to us time and time again.
If you’ve never attended, now is the time.
If you’ve attended once before, we would be delighted to have you come celebrate with us once again.
If you’ve joined us for years, through thick and thin, and already know you will be coming to our last party: welcome back. We can’t wait to see you.
And finally, to all of you, everyone who had a part in this tale: we never could have done it without you.
We are sure many of you have questions, and we’ll do our best to share more details in the coming months. For now, we have a request for all of you: start thinking about what you want to do to make your BronyCon 2019 special. Think about what will make that final weekend the best one ever—and then do it.
If you have crazy awesome ideas that you think the con should officially be hosting, tell us! We want to know. If we can do it, we will. And who knows? You may find yourself being invited to join our staff and see your dream become reality for everyone.
We hope you can join us next August. Together, we’re going to build something beautiful.
Your chairs,
Sheva Goldberg and Eliana Summers

BRONYCON SHOWS THE BEST OF BALTIMORE WITH NEW THURSDAY EVENTS
(BALTIMORE) - BronyCon is in the fast lane towards Friday, July 27. But some of our friends who beat the traffic and arrive a day early need things to do once they arrive in Baltimore. We’re happy to announce we’ve partnered with four organizations to bring both attendees and interested locals the best of the city with this year’s Thursday events!
First, BronyCon is happy to announce a fundraising venture between the convention and the Baltimore Orioles of Major League Baseball. As one of the U.S.’s best baseball cities, the team has always enjoyed a rich fanbase. We’re offering attendees a chance to be a part of this group with a special ticket offer. Those who purchase a ticket for the Thursday night game against the Tampa Bay Rays through our website will have $5 of their cost given directly to CureSearch for Cancer Research. The game is also a giveaway night, with attendees possibly receiving a shirt upon entry to the park. Camden Yards sits next door to the Baltimore Convention Center and tickets are in section 342 of the ballpark.
Those looking for a fun night on the town can enjoy a returning favorite: BronyCon’s yearly Bar Trot. The trot will visit numerous bars within the Fells Point area of Baltimore and will be done on foot with help from Food Tour Corp. There are 75 spots available for the trot and admission costs $16 per person.
A family favorite event returning this year is our cupcake decorating class with Charm City Cakes. Decorators will learn the basics during a fun cupcake class running from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Students will each receive 4 cupcakes, and learn how to cut, and prepare fondant to create their favorite MLP characters. Space is limited so act fast!
We’re happy to announce that BronyCon and Charm City Clue Room will once again be teaming up to put attendees mind’s to the test! Attendees have 60 minutes one of four rooms, including two brand new rooms: "Dark Carnival" and "Poe: Oval Portrait.” Discounted rates are available all weekend with promo codes located on our website. Charm City Clueroom is located at 6 Market Place in the Inner Harbor at Power Plant Live. Clue Room will also be at BronyCon in person holding a separate escape room event as a activity for attendees to try out.
Finally, after last year’s successful PokémonGO walk, another is being spearheaded by enthusiastic Trainers and BronyCon staff. A start time and place has not been finalized, however interested parties can visit our Discord server at https://discord.gg/cRYyPNQ to discuss meeting up and potential ideas.
All information and related links regarding these activities can be found at http://bronycon.org/events/thursday.
To register, visit BronyCon’s registration page. Badges for BronyCon will cost more at the door, so don’t wait! Also make sure you are following BronyCon on Facebook, Twitter, and Telegram to be the first to hear our latest announcements.
About BronyCon: Based in Baltimore, Md., the tenth iteration of BronyCon is scheduled for July 27-29, 2018 at the Baltimore Convention Center. TONY AWARD WINNER LENA HALL BRIGHTENS THE STAGE IN BALTIMORE
(BALTIMORE) - BronyCon has had many landmark moments during the last six years, with incredible guests and attendees who come from every corner of the globe. Today, we’re happy to announce a brand new face is joining us for 2018 as we welcome the incredibly talented Lena Hall to Baltimore this July 27-29!
Hall is most well known for her work in theatre both off and on Broadway. Her experience includes a Tony-winning Broadway run in “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” and a tour through North America with Josh Groban on his “Stages” tour. She portrayed the dual starring roles of both Hedwig and Yitzhak in “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
In her 2014 Tony Award acceptance speech for “Best Featured Actress in a Musical,” Hall shot herself into the eyes of many “MLP” fans. After thanking her family, friends, the Broadway community and countless others for helping her in her journey she ended with the phrase “friendship is magic.”
Hall learned all about the magic of friendship as the voice of Coloratura in the “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” episode "The Mane Attraction" in 2015. In the episode, Coloratura reunites with her fillyhood friend Applejack for a charity concert and learns to be true to herself and not what others want her to be. Hall’s performance in the episode included the three songs, “Equestria, The Land I Love,” “The Spectacle,” and “The Magic Inside” - the latter of which was released as a teaser storyboard animatic at the 2015 San Diego Comic Con.
Those interested in learning more about Hall and BronyCon’s other guests of honor can visit http://bronycon.org/guests/ for more information. Please note, Hall will only be attending BronyCon on Saturday and Sunday of the event.

MICHELLE CREBER AND GABRIEL BROWN GET READY TO JAM AT BRONYCON
(BALTIMORE)—It's time to lower the windows and crank up the music as we race down the highway towards our July 27–29 event in Baltimore. The next Guests of Honor can help with that, as we welcome back Michelle Creber and Gabriel Brown to their third straight year at BronyCon!
Creber, a multi-talented performer with past roles as an actor, singer, dancer, musician, songwriter and voice-over artist, is known internationally as the voice of Apple Bloom in “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.” Earlier in the series run, she also performed as the singing voice of Sweetie Belle. Her other on-screen credits include “Supernatural,” Disney’s “Search for Santa Paws,” Hallmark’s “Smart Cookies” and The Hub’s “Haunting Hour.”
Brown, a singer, actor, voice actor, songwriter and animator, is perhaps more well known to “MLP” fans as Black Gryph0n. Gabe joined the US Navy in special operations at the age of 18, before touring the Eastern Hemisphere as the lead singer of the 7th Fleet Band “Orient Express.” Since leaving the military, he has continued to pursue a career in entertainment. His vocal credits include various “MLP” songs, as well as the lead vocals for “Pac-Man & the Ghostly Adventures” theme.
Together, Creber and Brown have released several collaborative albums and have worked together on projects such as concerts, tours, original songs, song covers, vlogs, and a comedy series called “Kristoff & Schloff” among other things.
Those interested in learning more about Creber and Brown, along with the other amazing guests appearing at BronyCon this year, can visit the guest page on our website.
