Space’s Summer Chronicles #32: July 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th, 31st: Summer Haze

Heyooo!!! So, unemployment is going great, I have a few interviews lined up and I feel a big weight coming off my chest. In a way, despite all of its benefits, this job was holding me back. Anyways, back to my summer chronicles:

My parents and cousin finallt left for the city which is great cause they were all getting on my nerves and I love being alone. Me and my cousin went to this beach bar that has a direct connection to the sea so we danced in the sea and it was really fun. I went there two weeks ago with my best friend and got really drunk and danced to Stereo Love to the amusement of some middle aged French people. It wasn’t AS FUN this time cause my cousin is not as fun as my best friend, but it was still really fun and the bar was full of french people again, just young ones lol

Anyways, after my cousin and parents left I truly started to feel like I’m relaxing - I cooked myself some ramen with pork, I made myself some salmon bruschetta with salmon, cream cheese, sundried tomatoes and capers and sweet chilli, I go to the beach every day after my interviews and I just relax. I’m so happy and honestly glad they’re gone.

My soltitude won’t last long though cause my best friend and her boyfriend are arriving tomorrow WOOOO and then my other best friends are arriving on Saturday and we’re gonna PARTYYY I CAN’T WAIT

My current daily routine is:

Wake up whenever I wanna

Have something biiig for breakfast

Go to the beach and get drunk and swim

Go home at 8 pm, have dinner and relax

Honestly my dream life. I came up with a fun idea for a short story about mermaids in the Bermuda Triangle and I might write it soon. I love summer and I love the sea and I love unemployment. I needed this break so bad. I’m so happy.

I want some tan tattoos, like i wanna put a star on my face and sunbathe with it so I get it like a temporary tattoo

watched a 30 second t*ktok clip of a theatre guy moving away from the main stage after his verse (waiting for his cue since it was like a love song or something) and the way he looked at the person filming the tiktok from backstage was so sensual that i've decided from this 30 second clip alone that i need to have crazy nasty world-ending sex with a theatre guy

ideal living situation is what i call the 'sitcom special' : having all your closest friends live in the same apartment building or neighborhood where you each have your own space but can wander in and out of eachothers homes at will, seemingly always welcome and never at bad times. and also all of you only have jobs when its important to the plot.

favourite cold drink: definitely an iced latte (flavoured or not) or an iced matcha latte.

favourite hot drink: definitely teas - i've had one mindblowing floral green tea at a chinese tea shop months ago and i can still imagine the taste today. everyday wise - definitely a nice, cozy earl grey with a cookie on the side.

favourite sweet: a lot! i like cake (preferably not too sweet [true to my asian tastebuds]) that is hazelnut/chocolate forward; cheesecake (with a gorgeous graham cracker base) most definitely. i love keylime pie too. 🥧

favourite actor: ooh, a question i can't really answer 💔 i don't really watch shows (though it is on my bucket list when uni break comes)... maybe kathryn hahn? super biased considering agatha all along was the only show i was very seated for.

favourite singer: carly rae jepsen is my GOAT! 🐐 i also like charli xcx, caroline polachek, pinkpantheress, lorde, etc.

favourite movie: another question i can't answer omg 💔 the last time ive been in a movie theatre was for barbie i think 😭 or the last robot KAJDOSKDKS... i did enjoy the invisible man a lot.

favourite video game: i really only play video games when if i can play with friends - i have played (but recently quit after almost a decade of playing) league of legends. i enjoy touhou but not at a pro level because i'm not good at bullet hells... roguelikes like risk of rain 2 i enjoyed too. i enjoyed portal 2 and garry's mod (i spent a lot of time in those RP servers in gmod); nowadays i just play whatever my friends are playing, and currently, that is PEAK, a mountain climbing multiplayer game! if i could afford a nintendo console in the future, i bet i would enjoy kirby + mario games too

favourite season: i'm definitely an autumn boy. it's scorching summer all year round where i'm from - i love the ideatic concepts of autumn: letting go. melancholy. cool, silent walks on crunchy leaves. cozy drinks. orange, amber. cardigans, layered clothes. change. more walking. greycast skies in the park. however, i can appreciate what other seasons give too: i like summer in the sense that there's also a sense of melancholy in summer (ie., summer haze) - heavy nostalgia of not wanting things to end. winter is also beautiful too.

favourite flower: daffodils. lily of the valleys. sunflowers. who doesn't like roses?

favourite scents: i love the scent of tea, coffee - i have a matcha reed diffuser in my bedroom... it's wonderfully zen. this extends to my fragrance choices too. perfume-wise, i also enjoy something that is more skin-like and musky. if it has tea notes, it's perfect!
