It brings me so much joy that Teru and Akane can't escape each other even in other AUs,and they mess with each other.

Akane works for Teru's detective agency here,and was gonna go on a trip with Aoi to the hot springs and told him to enjoy working on his day off. And what does Teru do?

Not only does he go to the hot spring..

HE LITERALLY TOOK THE RING AKANE BOUGHT FOR AOI AND GAVE IT TO US..

Not to mention,the ring costed a year's worth of Akane's salary as mentioned in the pics above.💀💀

💌 Disclaimer 💌 : This isn't much of an analysis, just a few things I noticed in the more recent chapters !!

I feel that the New Present allows a new perspective on Aoi and Nene's friendship -- while it's slightly different from what we've seen in past chapters, it allows a glimpse into what their friendship was probably like before the main story. (Pre-Contract with Hanako, and before they slowly began to drift apart.)

The two have known each other since early middle school, so it makes sense that they're physically affectionate with each other. They've reached a point in their friendship where Aoi hinges on flirting with Nene to get what she wants. (And it always seems to work.) When it comes to being physically affectionate or even flirting, she mostly saves it for Nene.

Akane's perception of Nene is her, with Aoi, leaning on her. Even in his head, he can't exactly separate them.

This is Nene (from the original timeline) and yet, Aoi's clinginess doesn't seem to faze her, besides the clear effect Aoi's beauty has. Nene is used to Aoi holding her hand, leaning on her, etc. She isn't a stranger to Aoi's affection.

When Nene wanted to explore the Red House with Teru and Akane, Aoi decided to follow, despite knowing it may endanger her. She trusts Nene enough to put her worries about safety aside. And this isn't even the Aoi that experienced the Severance and had slowly begun opening up her true self to Nene. Yet she still puts blind trust in her.

While the main group is exploring the Red House, Aoi is also the first to notice that Nene has gone missing. She's the most desperate out of the three of them (Aoi, Akane, and Teru) to find Nene and make sure she's safe. However, while some may argue that it seems more one-sided on Aoi's part, it's made clear how dear Aoi is to Nene, too.

While one may argue that Nene mentioned Kou and Mitsuba first, there's specifically emphasis put on Aoi's name. She struggles to say it, barely able to get her name out. It's clear that Aoi's death took a toll on her -- she said Aoi's name last because her death was the most difficult to accept. She continues to be stuck on Aoi's death above all others. Aoi is in the front of the panel, ahead of Teru and Akane. Her name was mentioned first. This is because Aoi is more important to Nene, and they're much closer. (Though Teru, Akane, Kou, and Mitsuba are important to her, too.)

When Akane is recounting what happened in his timeline, he says specifically that Aoi and Nene conspired together. Nene chose Aoi to stay with her, and Aoi agreed, knowing that they would die together. Aoi is terrified, but she still trusts Nene, even in the face of death. And Nene wanted to die with Aoi above all else.

While Aoi and Nene have been secretive with each other throughout their friendship, they clearly have a strong enough foundation to persevere. Their affection/bond is anything but shallow, especially after they experienced Severance together.
