I.  THE DEATH OF A SOULMATE .

by  twenty  years  old ,  ash  is  his  best  self .   he  hasn’t  suffered  major  symptoms  of  his  depression  in  months ,   he’s  in  a  better  shape  physically ,   and  his  job  as  chb  diplomat  was  fulfilling  and  rewarding  to  him.    however ,   with  gwen’s  death ,   ash  began  to  spiral .   

ash  no  longer  wished  to  be  part  of  a  world  that  took  away  his  brother  and  soulmate ,   and  without  so  much  of  a  goodbye  ( aside  from  chiron ) ,  left  camp  half  blood  with  a  rucksack  of  belongings  and  his  dog ,  daffy ,  vowing  never  to  return .

his  first  stop  was  to  visit  gwen’s  family ,  whom  he  had  grown  close  with  over  the  years  to  essentially  offer  his  support  and  grieve  with  them .    before  the  funeral ,  however ,  ash  flew  to  england  to  visit  his  father  who  he  hadn’t  seen  in  years .  

despite  the  love  and  support  phillipe  offered ,   ash  felt  nothing .    leaving  daffy  behind ,   he  returned  to  france  two  weeks  later  to  attend  gwen’s  funeral   -   it  was  a  strangely  grand  event .    ash  made  a  speech ,   but  the  event  was  so  surreal  and  the  grief  so  deep  ash  didn’t  realise  when  he  finished  he  stood  there  for  two  minutes  saying  nothing  before  someone  had  the  heart  to  coax  him  off  the  podium .

numbly ,   ash  got  very  drunk  and  began  to  walk .    where  exactly   he  didn’t  know  nor  care .   just  somewhere ,   anywhere .   he  didn’t  stop  until  he  stumbled  upon  an  abandoned  mansion ,   covered  in  greenery  and  unoccupied .

II.  THE NEW HOME

now  when  i  say  the  mansion  was  in  the  middle  of  nowhere ,  i  mean  the  middle  of  nowhere .    it  was  behind  a  thick  wall  of  forestry ,   in  which  ash ,   even  in  his  numb  state  was  able  to  navigate  relatively  easily  thanks  to  his  chlorokinesis .    the   building  once  belonged  to  french  aristocrats  before  the  occupants  deserted  the  grounds  in  an  attempt  to  save  their  necks  during  french  revolution  of  1848 .    the  building  now  remains  empty ,   the  marks  of  angry  19th  century  crowds  still  lingered :    walls  kicked  in ,   curtains  burnt ,   floors  stained  by  a  curious  dark  brown  colour   -   it  was  enough  to  put  off  even  the  most  desperate  of  potential  buyers .    until  now .

ash  anchors  himself  within  the  strange  building ,   finding  the  surrounding  nature  a  comfort  rather  than  disgusting  or  threatening .   he  sits ,   drinks ,   and   sleeps ,   essentially  finding  peace  within  the  surrounding  plants .   he  is  alone  until  a  friend  decides  to  find  him .   and  that  friend  is  kali .

kali ,   being  a  witch ,   and  being … kali ,   decided  one  day  that  she  hadn’t  seen  ash  in  a  while  and  went  to  find  him .    at  first ,  ash  orders  her  to  leave  him  alone ,   but  kali  is  not  an  idiot  and  can  see  the  state  ash  is  in  and  decides  to  stay .

it  takes  a  while  but  ash ,  in  true  defeatist  fashion ,  relents  and  lets  kali  take  care  of  him .  admittedly  she  wasn’t  amazing  at  it  at  first ,  but  eventually  she  stopped  trying  to  spoon  feed  him  dirt  and  managed  to  find  actual  human  food  :)   she  also  realised  that  the  juice  he  kept  drinking  was  funny  and  he  should  stop .

III.  THE LANDMARK IN MOTION .

ash  celebrates  his  21st  birthday  in  the  mansion .   then  his  22nd  and  his  23rd  and  24th .   as  the  years  went  by  ash  became  less  and  less  in  touch  with  his  ‘human’  side ,   spending  hours  using  his  chlorokinesis  which  had  a  strange  effect  on  him .   his  eyes  and  fingertips  were  now  permanently  green ,   and   his  sanity  was ,   well ,   deteriorating . 

kali’s  magick  lingered  on  the  building .   it  slowed  down  ash’s  aging  process  and  the  building’s  disappeared  and  reappeared  close  to  locations  that  were  connected  to  ash  or  kali .   

the  mansion  became  a  landmark  for  several  demigod  quests ,  seeking  either  knowledge  or  assistance .   ash  was  playful ,  to  say  the  least .   he  enjoyed  enacting  tricks  and  pranks  on  those  who  entered .  though  he  meant  no  harm ,   his  name  and  reputation  was  usually  sided  with  a  warning .

months  pass  without  any  visitors   (  aside  from  kali  ) ,   until  a  girl  stumbles  into  his  greenhouse  where  he  sat  meditating .    ready  to  play  his  usual  tricks ,  he  waits ,   only  to  be  met  with  something  completely  unexpected .

IV.  THE QUEST FOR MEMORIES

she  claims  her  name  is  phoebe  dayton ,  but  after  explaining  her  visions ,   ash  ,   for  the  first  time  in  a  long  time ,   took  an  interest .   though  she  didn’t  look  like  gwen ,   he  couldn’t  help  but  assume  that  she  had  to  have  some  connection  to  her ,   and  that  was  enough  of  a  motivation  to  help .

leaving  the  mansion  behind ,   he  and  phoebe  went  on  a  quest  to  regain  her  memories .   despite  the  initial  flare  of  hope ,   every  step  ash  took  was  painful .   he  had  spent  every  day  for  the  past  decade  burying  his  grief ,   and  now  he  was  forced  to  face  it  properly  for  the  first  time . 

the  journey  was  tough  and  ash  smelled  strong  to  monsters ,  so  it  didn’t  take  long  for  the  pair  to  be  found .   seeing  phoebe  fight  despite  her  inexperience  only  added  more  weight  to  ash’s  theory  that  gwen  had  to  be  in  there  somewhere .

they  reach  morpheus’s  cave  and  ask  for  his  assistance .   when  he  refuses ,   ash  starts  to  argue ,  imploring ,   and  doesn’t  realise  that  phoebe  pulled  out  pandora’s   jar .

by  this  point  the  ghosts  that  consumed  phoebe  begins  to  take  its  toll ,   and  she  collapses .   but   she  starts  begging  ash  to  open  the  jar .   hesitant  at  first ,  knowing  from  classic  myth  that  opening  pandora’s  jar  has  never  been  a  good  idea ,   it’s  not  until  he  sees  phoebe’s  eyes  and  voice  start  to  morph  into  gwen’s  that  he  does  as  she  says .  

V.  THE RENEWAL

with  the  opening  of  the  jar  phoebe  disappears  and  gwen  returns .   ash ,   overwhelmed ,  collapses  into  her  arms  and  sobs .    

the  opening  of  the  jar  not  only  manifested  itself  within  gwen ,   essentially  turning  her  into  the  goddess  of  hope ,  but  had  an  effect  on  ash  too .    opening  the  jar  could  not  be  done  without  paying  a  hefty  price ,   and  so  ash  sacrificed  his  mortality ,   his  humanity ,   just  so  he  could  see  gwen  again .  in  turn  it   left  him  as  an  entity ,   guardian  of  the  forest  and  god  of  rebirth .

the  loss  of  his  mortality  would  have  been  a  curse  if  it  weren’t  for  gwen .   the  pair  fell  for  each  other  and  vowed  never  to  leave  each  other’s  side  again .

it’s been a while,   but he finds himself use to the softly crowded features of an ordinary book shop.     there were dvds there too,   potted plants and several books lined up the side of the wall.    he couldn’t quite reach out,   though,    because both of his hands were busy.    one held a costa cup,   and the other were netted into julian’s hand.    still in the haze of sleep,   he swept his lethargic stare over to the counter and the set table tops before he felt the weight of another gaze on his back.    distracted by julian’s words,   the boy walked off to fish out his wanted movie.    which left kenneth in the middle of the shop,    feeling only slightly out of place,    briefly startled as he followed the presence of the eyes and found ash vallier.     one second the boy was there,   and the next,   he was diving for cover.       /   @hisyield .

ash  loves  bookshops.        sure,     he   can’t   exactly   read   half   the   pages   without   some   form   of   tinted   plastic   pressed   on   top   of   the   words,     but   the   boy   feels   at   peace,     or   at   least   less   obliged   to   communicate   with   others,     when   he’s   in   a   place   where   talking   isn’t   required.        there   was,     in   fact,     a   dvd    ash    had   his   eye   set   on,     one   flew   over   the   cuckoo’s   nest.        he   had   trudged   through   the   book   over   the   course   of   almost   a   year,     and   thought   watching   it   would   act   as   his   reward   of   sorts.        the   film   was   old   enough   and   iconic   enough,     he   thought,     to   be   stocked   in   most   literature   stores.        as   he   trails   his   fingers   leisurely   across   the   spines   of   several   books   nestled   on   one   of   the   many   shelves   on   his   way   to   his   location,     his   gaze   lifts   to   rest   on   the   side   of   a   familiar   face .       it   only   took   ash   a   second   to   piece   together   the   identity   of   the   owner,     and   another   second   to   launch   himself   behind   one   of   the   respective   shelves.       truth   be   told,     the   centurion   completely   terrified   ash,     and   it   didn’t   take   a   genius   to   work   that   out,     gauging   from   his   duck   and   cover   routine.        hoping   to   gods   he   didn’t   spot   him,     ash   fumbles   for   one   of    the   novels   behind   him,    glances   at   the   cover         (   ‘TEH   NIHGT   CICRUS’   ?  )        and   proceeds   to   bury   himself   within   the  pages   in   hopes   that   it   would   succeed   in   masking   his   identity.

short   answer:     hella.

long   answer:    i   mean,   we   seriously   need   to   sort   out   their   timeline   bUT   i   stand   by   the   fact   that   ash?    adores   kali.     he   is   very   confused   by   her,     perhaps   a   little   intrigued,    but   he   just   kinda   accepts   it    ?     aksjdakldlaks   like   ?     kali   could   come   over   with   literally   a   third   arm   and   ash   just    ’…………..u   want   a   drink   of   water   or    ?’      I   HONESTLY   LOVE   THEM    ?     THEIR   RELATIONSHIP   IS   JUST   SO   MAGICAL   AND   ANCIENT   AND   PURE   I   JUST   ?     when   kali   finds   ash   at   the   mansion   after   gwen’s   death   and   takes   care   of   him   like   ksjdklsajdklasjdlka  .she   saves   his   life     ?!       ash   was   close   to   death   and   had   pretty   much   given   up   on   life   when   she   found   him   and   yet   she   swoops   in   and   helps   him   stand   up   again,    and   that’s    something   which   ash   is   so   thankful   for.     he   cannot   even   begin   to   express   how   grateful   he   is   for   kali   and   all   the   things   shes   done   for   him,    and   whilst   ash   isn’t   exactly   the   best   at   expressing   that   ?    he   will   always   love   and   appreciate   her   forever   and   ever   like   wow

when   ash   becomes   a   god   i   hc   they   meet   up   as   frequently   as   possible.    and   every   time   they   do   ash   brings   her   a   bouquet   of   the   most   beautiful   flowers   ?    and   they   sit   together   on   a   hill   surrounded   by   nature    with   a   picnic   containing   lil   berries   and   cheese   sandwiches   like   they   used   to   do  when   he   was   a   kid    ?     and   ash   even   saves   a   whole   ass   room   for   kali   at   his   and   gwen’s   mansion   whenever   she   pops   round    ?      like   their   relationship   is   probably   one   of   the   most   consistent   things   he   has   in   his   life.    that’s   not   to   say   that   his   dynamic   with   gwen   isn’t   also   incredibly   strong,   yknow,   because   she’s   his   literal   soulmate   but   kali   is   almost   like   his   kindred   spirit   ?    if   that   makes   sense   ?     like   they   rarely   hits   bumps   and   they’re   constant.    they   do   the   same   activities   and   walk   the   same   walks   but   it’s   never   monotonous   its   just   so   strong   and   pure   and   safe.     their   dynamic   is   so   healthy,     for   both   ash   and   hopefully   for   kali   too.      ash   will   cherish   kali   until   the   end   of   time   itself.

SEMI - HIATUS  WARNING  !

so   i’ve   got   a   full  -  time   job    (  whoohoo!  )    but   its   taking   up   a   lot   of   my   time.   i  work   in   a   restaurant   as   a   runner   which ,    funnily   enough,    involves   a   lot   of   running   around   with   huge   platters   of   food   up   and   down   stairs.   and   when   im   not   doing   that   im   in   a   hot   kitchen   folding   napkins   and   polishing   cutlery   etc.   and   it   uhhhhhhh   really   takes   the   energy   out   of   me.     shifts   start   really   early     (   like   ive   had   to   get   to   work   at   7am   )    and   finish   at   16:00   and   im   so   drained   most   of   the  time   i   literally    ?    dont   have   the   energy   to   make   myself   a   cup   of   tea   let   alone   log   onto   my   laptop   and   write   things   so    ?        i   do   have   days   off   but   so   far   it   seems   it’s   only   for   a   day   or   two   at   a   time.        i   may   be   able   to   get   online   if   im   assigned   late   shifts   or   whatever   but   klasdklasjdlkasj   honestly   im   just   tired   and   rambling   ?      in   conclusion:     this   account   is   on   semi   -   hiatus .      thank   u   for   reading   im   going   to   bed   gdang
