I’ve been busy lately and I guess I don’t really know how to manage my time when it comes to social media and my studies. I guess I know what to add to my new year’s resolutions. But anyway, I’m so thankful to have to study ONE subject for finals (it’s precal) since all the other subject teachers replaced our final exams with performance tasks 😭

Done with the first two weeks of university and it has been great even though I already have a million things I need to do

20,000 words of notes and drafting later I have finally conquered my latest essay! I’ve titled it ‘The Transideological Politics of Irony: Disrupting Historiographical Metanarratives in Morrison, Rushdie and Hatoum’, but who knows what I have actually argued at this point :’–)

For my close analysis draft essay of a Shakespearean speech, I chose the blood curdling declaration from Aaron in Titus Andronicus of his only regret being he could not do more evil than he already did. I find this speech fascinating and chilling. I love that in the 19th century this play disturbed and shocked people so much they did not want to associate it with Shakespeare, and so tried to shift the blame on Marlowe instead…

Sorry posting has been sporadic – I am struggling with things at the moment. Autumn mornings have been one of many small refuges, watching the sunrise from bed with coffee and Finnegans Wake.

one of my many current reads: between shades of gray by ruta sepetys. which is brilliant. — in the dead of night, lina is taken, along with her younger brother and mother by the soviet secret police from her home in lithuania and thrown into a cattle car en route to siberia. through her drawings and notes, she hopes to reach them to her father who they’ve been separated from. — very surreal thing to read being lithuanian myself. if you are a fan of her other brilliant novel: salt to the sea, you are sure to enjoy this one. https://www.instagram.com/p/BrasNffljxP/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=4ko8tan881ee

Today I’ll be reading some papers, meet with our research group and go to my lecture for psychodynamic consultation. It’s going to be a very productive day! Also; isn’t @emmastudies her October wallpaper the prettiest?

Passed another exam today! This one was about Slovene literature from its beginnings until the mid-19th century, so I finally got to study about something I truly care about. This exam period is dragging on forever, but at least I don’t feel bad about staying in all the time in this cold weather 🌨️

sunday, 28 january — i have so many things to do today including chinese translation work, rewrite my notes of my chinese history and literature class and start studying for my chinese upcoming exams.
