Outlander fans have much to look forward to as the much anticipated sixth series has wrapped - and Starz has officially confirmed that a seventh season is coming soon.
With the ‘droughtlander’ nearly over, fans across the world are looking forward to the return of stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe to their screens as Jamie and Claire in season six, which is set to premiere in early 2022.
Due to the pandemic restricting filming, the upcoming season had to be shortened to just eight episodes rather than 12.
However, it was revealed that production on a seventh season of Outlander is to start soon, Starz has said, with that cycle of the Matthew B. Roberts showrun series to have a 16-episode run and a likely late 2022/early 2023 premiere - which could possibly mean two seasons in one year.
It is reported that production for season seven is set to start “soon”.
Matthew B. Roberts, Outlander’s showrunner, said in a statement: “We are excited to get into the editing room to work on bringing the fans one step closer to reuniting with the family back on Fraser’s Ridge.
“Filming in 2021 has presented an unprecedented set of challenges which led us to the decision to truncate the season in order to bring the fans the most vibrant and dynamic season as soon as possible. Dinna fash, we will then film an extended season seven with 16 episodes next year as life returns to normalcy.”
The seventh season will be based on Diana Gabaldon’s New York Times Bestseller 'Echo in the Bone’, set in America, Canada, London and Scotland and follows four major story lines: Jamie and Claire; Roger and Brianna (and family); Lord John and William; and Young Ian, all intersecting in the nexus of the American Revolution—and all of them with sharp points.

Raulferreiranettoofficial dubs Sam/Jamie for Portuguese. The snippet he posted is when Jamie and Claire are talking in the bedroom right after Tom Christie’s hand surgery, when Jamie tells her that in prison he liked the time to go to sleep because he dreamed of her 🥺😭😭😭💘
Awwwwwww. Sweet

A question for the haters:
If you had the opportunity to improve others’ life’s and contribute to charities, give scholarships and also indulge your passion by bringing out an award winning whisky, best selling books and tv travel show and still give your fans the enjoyment of appearing on Outlander, do interviews, appearances and lots of social media presence - what would you do?
Of course, once you have a huge fan base, you would spend all your money on frivolities, abuse your fans by calling them the worst fans in the world and leave Outlander high and dry to pursue more lucrative projects. You would slag your fellow actors, tell the charities you supported to go f**k themselves. You would sleep with as many women as you could and then sell your stories to the highest bidder. You could even do a kiss and tell about your co star and tell the world about her nasty habits.
You would not appear at any publicity events or stop for fan pictures and a chat whilst out and about. You would tell your fans they are only valued if they spend all their money on your merch and you would not communicate via any form of social media. Your beloved MPC would be totally subscription based with no financial help for those who need it. You would reply, via your agent, to every lie or perceived lie told about you. You would not be a nice guy but a thoroughly mean, self-serving man who has no thought for anyone but himself.
So, truthfully, which broke, ex-jobbing actor sounds most like Sam? Hate him all you want, just please, keep it yourselves, as I'm sick of hearing it. If you want to spread such nasty comments around there are plenty of actors out there who actually fit the bill. Find one of those to target.
Annoyed 😠
