On Tuesday, October 4th, SA-HS Dance Teacher Daryn Weis and members of her Dance Club traveled to Harlem East to give East's club dancers a master class. High School dancers led a warm-up and then taught the middle school dancers a routine, choreographed by students Courtnye Allen and Azira King (both former Harlem East dancers).
After the class, each group performed pieces for each other that they are working on in club and had a Q & A about dance at the High School level and the choreographers artistic process. It was an amazing collaboration that was educational and enjoyable for all parties. This was the first time for this type of collaboration and we hope to continue it throughout the school year.

Mr. Facher’s modern band students looking way too cool for school.  Also yes, I just wrote that so I am officially old and much less cool than these ladies. :)

Good Morning Everyone… Our girls did it!! They went from the last seed in the playoffs to winning their last game. In only their first year they went from a team in the first game who needed work to a confident team who played together and beat the best in the charter league!!!
In winning the championship, the girls have etched their names in Success Academy history by becoming the first athletic team to win the CSAA league. Some of the girls had to overcome academic challenges to be in this position which spotlights the growth on these scholar-athletes. Madison Hodges earned MVP honors and Coach Adia Revell should be Coach of the Year. Please show our Lady Hawks some love!!

Already a patron of the theatre, and lover of noses, Ms. Pottberg’s daughter, Luna made it to both Saturday shows, and sang along with the cast. Here she is playing with Ms. Weis at intermission.
