genuinely i have never been so straight up never-reading-or-watching-again, removed all references to, trashed fics in progress, blacklisted everywhere kinda done with a franchise like i have been with h*rry p*tter like the whole thing just became so repulsive to me overnight…usually i can find a redeeming quality in “trash” media that i used to enjoy (himym has a surprising amount of positive masculinity for all the egregious misogyny and transphobia, for example) but literally it’s just straight up garbage to me now. i don’t even miss it. idek. how did this happen, guys? how did something that we as a generation became utterly enamored with…how did it devolve into such worthlessness? what did we see in it? i mean i’ll be honest i was OBSESSED. absolutely obsessed. it took over my life. and while there’s plenty of things that i look back on and think “oh i probably should’ve been more critical of x or thought about the portrayal of y but it’s definitely not all bad”, this is the only thing that i’m like…how the fuck…did this happen…what was the single good thing. what was good about it. what was it. was i brainwashed
