tbh i like that more and more games are introducing a "narrative mode" instead of an "easy difficulty", cause a big thing about the easy mode discourse was centered around "are people capable of playing hard games", which showed a lot of elitism and sometimes ableism, but with the introduction of "narrative mode", it completely shifts the paradigm away from "hard mode is for real gamers, easy mode is for noobs" and towards "this is just the game mode for you to experience the story", which not only smooths over that problem, but also enables devs to really rethink how they want to approach designing their game and telling a story to their audience, which i think adds in a lot of possibilities beyond just "is the game easy or hard"

like i'm sorry but we as a fandom have to stay firm on our anti-AI values. we cannot suddenly start giving AI a pass when it's something we "want to see" like destiel kisses. it's not suddenly fine. we're not going to start using AI to make fanfic scenes come to life or audio AI to make characters "say" stuff we want to hear. you have GOT to be firm on your anti-AI stance. if you start making exceptions then suddenly anything will fly. fandom is for real art and creations made by real people. no AI fanfics. no AI art. no AI rendered "bonus" scenes. no AI audio. none of it has a place here.

Expanding a bit on the post I just reblogged, I absolutely HATE how a surprisingly large portion of the population now thinks that feminism is synonymous with being a "girlboss". The idea that working some kind of professional job and being successful at it is the only way to do feminism is insane. People will literally say "feminism has failed us" or "I'm giving up on feminism" when they're unhappy with their jobs. Babes idk how to explain this to you but that is not a problem with feminism that is a problem with your job. You don't need a rich man to provide for you while you take care of the kids you need a goddamn union and some paid leave

i've been using the term "spotlighting" recently to describe a specific way of inciting harassment. I use it to mean "bringing unneeded attention to a (usually marginalized) individual for the purpose of not just shaming them, but also inviting an audience of people to join in on shaming."
i wonder if there's another term for this already or if someone else already came up with it, but i do think it describes a kind of harassment that feels very particular to the internet. It's not just one on one harassment, it's inciting a harassment campaign by bringing attention to a person.
