Idk if you’re the right person to ask this but I saw your zoophile girl drawing and wanted to shoot my shot - why do so many people call paraphilias radqueer? I understand how some people would believe they are because they’re like the “weirder” queers but I still find it all confusing still. (IN MY OPINION) Paras are definitely queer as they are atypical attractions, but why not just label it as regular queer? Why does it have to be “radically” queer?

(this is a genuine question and I’m not trying to be mean! I’m just knew to all of this radqueer stuff and am trying to understand, as a paraphile I had someone call me radqueer the other day and it felt weird)

Radical queerness would not exist without respectability politics, which resulted in the division into "radical" and "non-radical" queers. However, "queerness" itself is everything that contradicts the normal, legitimate, dominant, so queerness itself is radical, but the division arose from a backlash against our rejection of queerness, although it is not a dichotomy in fact. You can call yourself a "radical" queer if you want, or you can just call yourself queer. (I'm not very good at English and I use a translator, so forgive me for the mistakes)
