Does Grace consider herself to be trans?

Weeelll i kind of lean towards "no" for 2 reasons, one in-universe and one out-of-universe:

1. Grace doesn't conceptualize herself as ever having been sidwell in the first place so i don't know if the fact that her gender identity is different from her creator's would rly register as anything important to her, also she doesnt categorize herself as Human or even necessarily A Person so im not sure shed feel like the label could apply to her. She definitely wouldnt identify as cisgender either though lol

2. ok so to preface this Grace is NOT genuinely "evil" and i would hesitate to even label her as a Bad Person, she's not NICE and can be unpleasant/difficult, but her behavior is largely a reaction to how violent her circumstances are/were (i.e. being created as an expendable tool for someone who she was fully aware would eventually torture and kill her). Obviously she has some core personality traits/worldview stuff in common with sidwell, and also i refer to her as evil alot in a silly way lol, but the point of her as a character is NOT meant to be "see she's mean and calculating like sidwell is so shes More Like Him so that makes her The Evil One"

STILL. all that being said. because she's not very sympathetic on a surface level i would feel kind of weird being like "yeah shes trans". like "heres my character whos most visible traits are that shes an unempathetic manipulative liar and everyone thinks shes evil, btw she's a trans woman!" seems like territory i maybe dont want to be getting into.

Though it also feels weird to be like "no she cant be trans" so at the end of the day idk lol. i hope any of this made sense anyone can feel free to chime in on this if u have an opinion

OK AND ALSO i finally have an answer to the question "is there anyone grace would genuinely get along with". Now there is.

My sona wasnt going to have lore but if it DID have lore it would be a bot account (made for like, farming credits or something like that) that mistakenly got submitted for evotar creation, and having the crosscode 2.0 run on it made the resulting evotar gain self awareness. probably not a feasible way for the technology to work but i think it would be funny. It is sentient but processes information strangely because it is a shitty bot program given human consciousness, and has progressed through most of the game by spamming random inputs until something happens. you tell it to meet up with you in a certain location and it would be like "okay! :D" and generate a random path throughout the entire map that eventually happens to lead it where you wanted it to go. it's having a great time you just have to be kind of patient with it.

Is there a smaller CrossCode community discord with other CrossCode fanwork creators? The radical fish discord is good for talking about the game but a more fandom-oriented server would be nice, especially since everyone else in the CrossCode tag here on tumblr is super cool

What's Grace's dynamic with the rest of the cast? Does she get along with any of them? Does she have any memories of Lea? Have she and Shizuka tried to murder each-other?

She is confident and assertive enough to insert herself into any social situation like she Belongs, and people tend to find her easy to talk to even if they also think she's overbearing and weird. So I think she WOULD get along with a lot of people (which gives tronny more reasons to hate her lol). Its all superficial though shes not actually interested in making real connections with any of them. I think if she can tell someone can see through her act she'll drop them pretty quickly (i think sergey and luke would be in this category, for example), but if someone actually attempted to befriend/include her she would probably play nice and string them along for a while, especially if it would give her an advantage against someone she hates.

So like with that in mind ^ she'd probably be fake friendly with, like, emilie and maybe some of the other first scholars. I don't know if theres anybody she'd actually have positive feelings for beyond "this person is entertaining". She might have fun dueling or beating up enemies with people though, i think she gets some genuine enjoyment out of playing crossworlds and being good at combat.

Weirdly she might get along with satoshi. Hed probably be psyched about her and ctron existing at the same time bc theyre 2 evotars of the same person, and would want to figure out what factors led to them being so (outwardly) wildly different, so she would be interesting to him as like, a research opportunity. She would not be offended by the casual dehumanization/being treated like a test subject--it would actually probably make her more comfortable--and would appreciate the opportunity to talk about herself at length. I dont think they would LIKE each other but they might be kind of on the same wavelength, somehow. Everyone else would be alarmed by this

She doesnt remember much about shizuka, but assuming shizuka knows who she is, grace might antagonize her a little bit for fun and/or play up the evil mastermind stuff around her. Not bc of some personal vendetta (shizuka is basically a stranger to her) but because she thinks its really funny that her existence bothers people as much as it does, and would probably relish a little bit in making people uncomfortable on purpose bc that way she maintains a sense of control over her own discomfort with herself ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As for Lea though, well

I dont think she has any concrete memories of lea, just vague recognition. But i think being around lea would make her uneasy anyway bc there's just enough of an impression left to bring up feelings she does not want to process (guilt, regret)
