okay basically
been MIA for a hot minute because gatsby made me want to murder something
did i read that book? no.
did i submit a 1500 word essay on it? yes.
do i have regrets? never.
now that i am free of the woes of james gats, i thought i was finally free and able to read whatever i wanted at my own will. i was wrong yet again, for many reasons.
1) i have to read a new book for english (in class at least)
2) i have to read macbeth for drama
3) this monstrosity.
my girlfriend @twilightsdumbbutiwannaknowmore decided to take it upon herself to completely annotate an entire copy of twilight, gifting it to me and forcing me to read it.
and i hate to admit it
but i’m actually enjoying reading twilight.

English
Why does English class take the fun out of every book I have ever read??? Can I please just read The Great Gatsby without having to analyse how reliable of a narrator Nick Caraway is??

the nobleman’s guide!!!!
I finished the nobleman’s guide ages ago and forgot to update lol
IT WAS FREAKING AMAZING probably one of the best books I’ve read, but that also be because of how much I already love the series. I can’t recommend it more omg, not just this one book but the entire series.
It was so amazing to get to meet all the characters from a new perspective and seeing how their future unfolded. I’m so in love with all the characters. My only complaint is I wish we got more Louisa content.
I’m back at school now! I’ve just started grade 12 which is terrifying to say the least, so I’ve now moved on to reading The Great Gatsby for my English class.
Still obsessed with The Nobleman’s Guide and I love Adrian so much, he grew so much throughout the novel and that kind of character development made the plot line so much more engaging and relatable.
Anyways please read this book or I will come for you and your family... jk... unless...

adrain <3
Almost finished the Nobleman’s Guide ahhhh!
Monty, Felicity and Adrian have just arrived in Amsterdam and I can’t get past just how sweet the whole plot line is. Even though they haven’t known him very long, Felicity and Monty have just taken Adrian in and I’m just so glad Adrian has found other people he can rely on.
They genuinely care for him so deeply and are always asking him if he’s okay and helping him if he’s feeling anxious and urghhhh it is just so nice I totally haven’t cried AT ALL
Once again extending my offer for Mackenzi Lee to have my hand in marriage.

the divergent movies
to continue my rewatching of YA movie adaptations, i have gone back to my divergent days and must word vomit my thoughts here, which is that there is little to no development of the relationship between tris and four. they just suddenly are like “omg babe i love you” without much context outside that one scene were they make out after four shows her his tattoo.
it also pissed me off how it implied in insurgent that tris and four have seggs, with them making out and then the next scene is them naked in bed together when one of tris’s main characteristics in the books were that she’s afraid of intimacy, and therefore is never really able to do that with tobias.
i truely do not know why i was so obsessed with these movies in 2015, they are literally so bad. please pray for me whilst i endure the movie adaptation of allegiant <3

The amount I relate to Adrian Montague is concerning to say the least

I’m halfway through the nobleman’s guide!! I love it so much everything about it is perfection. Monty and Adrian are currently on their way to the Azores Islands after leaving Rabat.
Something I love about the Montague siblings books is the little art details at the start of every chapter and each new place. I tried to upload pictures but Tumblr is being a bitch and won’t let me so here is an Adrian meme I found, courtesy of https://www.tumgir.com/tag/Adrian%20Montague

For the book tag, 1, 15 , 34 and 96
1 a book that is close to my heart: The Loose Ends List by Carrie Firestone omg that is my comfort book idk what I would do without it
15 a book rec you really enjoyed: The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller so many people recommended this to me and it's now on of my favourites
34 a book featuring the enemies to lovers trope: Heart of Dread series by Melissa De La Cruz and Michael Johnston not necessarily "enemies" but the main characters were opposed to each other and fell in love
96 a book with a restaurant/food setting: I honestly don't think I've read a book which has an explicit restaurant/food setting but feel free to recommend me any!!

the hunger games movies make no sense???
i spent a very productive day rewatching the hunger games movie series, and came to the realisation that these movies make no sense outside of the context of the books. take the storyline of avoxes for example. they just say pollux is an avox in mockingjay part 1, which makes sense to someone who has read the book but if you just raw dogged it, going into these movies without the knowledge from the books to fall back on, you would have no idea what is happening. the pace of all the movies in general is so awkward without the books, there are just so many little things like that which are just thrown in without any proper explanation. that is my rant thank you and good night, cinna is a gay icon

up to chapter 7 of the nobleman’s guide and AHHHH it is perfection I am in love with every single word. adrian is such an amazing character and has so many aspects of felicity and monty rolled into one, except he severely lacks their confidence (rip)
it’s so cool to see percy and monty from an outsider’s perspective who doesn’t know anything about them, and good to see they are still their same old selves, even twenty years later
i'm currently unsure if adrian will meet felicity in this book but god i hope he does because i am dying to see more of her
mackenzi lee has done it again, i would like for her to marry me please <3
