i remind myself

on the 23rd anniversary of one of my favorite works of art, i remember that a very small me learned some important things from a very small bee (i am… not) happy birthday, earthbound. i’m still trying to learn to have a heart this good.

revisiting and revising one of my mad loves after several years away. one of my openings into the cloud of Derrida, orbiting the singularity of Danielewski, seeing the marks i’ve made that changed Writing & Difference which changed my House which in turn changed me. in ways i may never explain. this is by no means the most-marked spread here, where i was just beginning to recognize the play of light among these leaves. but where he says: “To grasp the operation of creative imagination at the greatest possible proximity to it, one must turn oneself toward the invisible interior of poetic freedom. One must be separated from oneself in order to be reunited with the blind origin of the work in its darkness.” i have been as far from myself as i could go, and now i am reuniting with my origins. forgive an old man his authorial cosplay!
