Been seeing so much more weird wacky genre fusion these past few years, alongside the recent rise in producer culture. I'm not deep enough in it to say when it happened, but listening through eras and seeing DJs and studio folk go from unnamed extras to titular characters has been cool

Posting this while watching and I looked up the filming location, was disappointed to find out it was filmed in Oregon... but the part I'm watching was filmed in Newport (right next to me, east coats babey!!!) Didn't realize I knew what where I lived looks like

One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest and Rain Man both have the same problem of the entire plot being some dysfunctional white dude realizing that mentally ill people are people, but where they differ is that OFOtCN has actual artistic value and completely unrivaled East Coast Aesthetic(!!) while Rain Man's entire legacy is "Tom Cruise was kinda hot in the 90s"
