More paired images. Once again of Kamui and Fuuma. However this time, they are with their dragon personifications. Its kind of interesting how they once again have the opposite appearance to represent their opposite number, from their color coordination, to the wing earring on their ears, down to the religious symbols they wear-each coming from opposite sources of ideology, the orient (Kamui wearing the Yasakani Jewel) and the occident (Fuuma wearing the Catholic Cross). Their colors do not need much explanation: White meaning purity, innocence. Royal Blue meaning honor and strength Gold meaning splendor, high power and imperial might. Black meaning mystery, authority and power Purple/lavendar meaning honor and strength Red meaning splendor and high power, strength, passion and determination (it also means love, but I’m not too sure that that was one of the meanings CLAMP wanted to imply) Although, its kind of interesting how CLAMP chose to make the characters hold on to a red thread and barbed wire respectively. Whereas the red thread denotes fate and destiny’s line; the barbed wire represents entrapment, restraint, and imprisonment. Considering the fact that Kamui can control his own destiny and whatever he does affect Fuuma fate, the use of each kind of line makes sense. Its a pretty harsh reminder considering the red thread and the barbed wire are in the forefront of the picture.
