Kind of random question, but how is the "e" pronounced in Persian in izalfa? I've only ever encountered it transliterated, and I'm not sure if it's pronounced "ay" as in "ay" or like the "ee" in "thirteen" or some other way, and since you seem to know Persian I thought I'd ask. Thank you :)
Hey :)
The ezâfe in Persian is kind of pronounced like the ‘ay’ in ‘say’, i.e IPA: /e/. As far as I’m aware, other languages which borrowed the Persian ezâfe e.g Urdu, Hindu or Ottoman Turkish might pronounce it differently, but their use of it is obviously much more limited.
Hope this helps

Sanskrit is probably the only language where you might find yourself having to explain whether, in using one monosyllabic word, you were referring to Vishnu, the air, meditation or a fucking fence.

L'aventure commence.
