Words, voices, sounds
"Once every month, you can scan the QR code, go to the special website, and connect to that radio.
We hope that some words will become something dear to you."
(from Takeru Satoh Radio Diary)
~~~
Hi Tumblr, I'm back again for a yearly birthday post 🙈
First of all, please allow me to start with this *inhales*:
HAPPY 33RD BIRTHDAY DEAR SATO TAKERU!!!
Thank you for being born, thank you for your countless masterpieces, thank you for always striving to be the best, thank you for keep being yourself. Wishing you a great year ahead, hope you stay healthy and happy! 💖💖💖
~~~
We've been blessed with another great year in the fandom, with the last 2 installments of Ruroken are finally released and he's once again proven that no one could ever be a better Kenshin than he was, then he delivered an amazing performance in his 2nd movie as a voice actor in Belle (Ryuu to Sobakasu no Hime / The Dragon and The Freckled Princess), he delivered yet another amazing performance in In The Wake (Mamorarenakatta Mono tachi e / To Those Who Were Not Protected), enough to get him a nomination for Best Lead Actor in Japan Academy Awards 2022, to the several books he's released during the same year, Miyagi kara, a book about his (and Kamiki's) trip to Miyagi to commemorate 10 years of Great East Japan Earthquake, Backstage Pass Takeru Satoh, a book containing 10 years of staff report blog entries, and of course, his calendar / radio diary book.
Takeru Satoh Radio Diary, is a concept for his 2022 calendar. As the name suggests, it's a calendar book, with a monthly diary entry, a series of stories written by Takasaki Takuma, and read by Takeru, all in a radio broadcast vibe.
To celebrate his 33rd birthday, I'd like to share some of the entries from the radio diary, from January to March, and also a special voice message from Takeru himself from his birthday entry.
As always, please don't repost without permission, thank you!
Prologue
The man built a small radio station.
From the rooftop of a building in the city, whenever he felt like it, he will start the broadcast, and talk about things happening on that day, or put someone’s concerns into words.
If he started it earlier, it might have been called something witty like Pirate broadcast.
The words became voices, become sounds, and flew into the city sky.
Maybe no one will hear it, maybe it will reach someone.
When he just put the words together as he goes, someone called it a story.
He can almost create a song from it, but he still feels something is missing.
Somehow the man was pleased with it.
Part 1 - What A Wonderful World
January 2022
If tomorrow,
all sounds are going to disappear,
what will be the last thing I hear?
Maybe just,
your nonchalant,
your tiresome “good morning” is good enough.
If i don’t talk to you,
it feels like it’s going to be back to the night again,
that’s why your tiresome “good morning” is good enough.
If tomorrow,
all sounds are going to disappear,
what will be the last thing i hear?
Words are just too limited,
even you don’t mean it as a morning call,
I’d love to hear your “good morning”.
That’s what I want you,
to remember.
February 2022
You know, sometimes I think about you.
On the 2nd floor of the new apartment,
when I found a small light,
accidentally smelled a gentle aroma of a dinner,
sometimes I think about you.
At that time, when I walked down on that road,
under that light,
we might have been there,
sometimes I think about you.
Even if I found someone I like
even if I found someone I love,
even if you’re not the same person anymore,
sometimes I still think about you.
It’s not that I want to do something about it,
sometimes I still think about you.
Even during something simple like,
when I have too much of toothpaste on my toothbrush,
sometimes I still think about you.
March 2022
“I really like your voice”
That girl was a bit of a strange one,
when we are together,
she will always close her eyes.
That girl was a bit of a strange one,
because she likes my voice rather than my stories,
she often said,
“Just talk about pointless things”.
I looked for boring articles on the internet and read those in monotone.
Because she likes my voice,
she often said,
“if possible, read it in monotone”.
While I was reading those boring articles in monotone,
her face with her eyes closed,
looked like a beautiful sleeping face,
and I loved it.
I who read articles in monotone,
and her with eyes closed,
if we kissed each other,
I’m sure it would be over.
March 21, 2022
Diary Entry
People seem to like the season of their birth.
The fact that wind feels pleasant, and how the lightness of taking off my jacket puts me in a good mood, that might be the reason.
My birthday thoughts, have a listen on the usual radio.
Voice Message
Today is my birthday. I don’t have a specific idea of what kind of year I want this year to be, although they ask me every year.
Every year, I just answered as I go, but most of them were lies.
That reminds me, I haven’t named this radio station. What kind of name do you think is best? But because I’ve been doing this in secret, maybe it’s also a good idea to continue without having a proper name.
Everyone, please keep on supporting me this year as well!

Until now, and from now on
"It feels lonely when you’re going to leave your 20s” Ever since he debuted when he was 17 years old, he has this unshakable core. Having the ability to look at things objectively, even his simple sentimental words reverberate deeply. Right before turning 30, Sato Takeru, brimming with mature charm, speaks about his past, present, and future...
(from 30th anniversary book, introdcution part before the interview starts)
~~~
Hi Tumblr, it’s been a long time.
First of all, because it’s still March 21 in some parts of the world, please allow me to say it.
HAPPY 32ND BIRTHDAY DEAR SATO TAKERU!!! 🥳🥳 Wishing you nothing but the best in your future endeavours, especially on your new journey with CoLaVo!! Wishing you a great year ahead 💖
~~~
Talking about his 30th anniversary book, I just love everything about this book, or should I say dictionary XD We got a collection of most of his works, from movies, dramas, excerpts of magazine interviews, photobooks, calendars, and many more. On top of that, we got a massive Q&A section (you can read it here), a long interview, and closed with a beautiful riddle (you can also read it here).
To celebrate his 32nd birthday, I’d like to share his long interview from the anniversary book, which you will find lots of inspirational insights from this amazing man.
As always, please don’t repost without permission, thank you!
“It feels painful when I’m thinking about this irreversible time, about things I could never get again. ”
- It’s about 2 months before your 30th birthday. How is your condition right now?
I can say I’m in a quite good condition.
- You mentioned that you want to get things done in your 20s.
Right. You could say that I’m working on my final chapter right now. After I’ve finished with my current project, I think it can be considered as an important breakpoint.
- How do you feel when you are reaching 30?
Lonely and sad. Especially looking at the fact that my 20s will be over.
- The way you think like that is just like a woman (laugh).
I wonder. Well, maybe men rarely think like that. But I think it’s kinda rare among women too.
- My impression is, men tend to want to reach their 30s as soon as possible.
Then I am the opposite. I totally don’t want to hurry. To people saying that they are excited [to reach 30s], I think they underestimate the feeling of having to let go of things. Youth is one of the things you won’t be able to get for the rest of your life. ...I think they just don’t understand that yet.
- 20s is the representation of youth?
I think so. Setting aside whether it’s good or bad, thinking about things you won’t be able to get it again is really important. It’s crucial. Even if you have 1 trillion yen, you will never be able to take back your 20s.
- Isn’t it something that you can also say to your 10s?
Yes, the same thing applies to my 10s as well.
- But after I revisited your interview when you turned 20…
If that’s the case, then I didn’t understand the meaning at that time. That’s why I still have regrets from my teenage days. Nowadays, in most of teen stories led by high school or even middle school students… Stories with that nostalgic feeling, like Shinkai (Makoto)’s works, I feel pain in my chest watching those. Thinking about things I could never get again, about this irreversible time, it feels painful.
- The moment you really can feel it, was when about the last 2 years in your 20s, when you finally realize that you’ll be sad to leave your 20s?
I think so. It’s like the first time you notice that you’re really grateful for the toothpaste that is about to disappear.
- The analogy you used is a trivial one though (laugh)
But it really is. Just like things you wasted that much, only when it’s about to disappear you began to realize how important it is.
- Do you feel any excitement in reaching your 30s, like new possibilities will be opened for you?
Yes, I kinda have a hunch that I will meet lots of new interests as I enter my 30s. Although, in terms of portion, the sadness of leaving my 20s is bigger.
- It was unexpected for me because I don’t think you’re the person who cares about things you won’t get back again, or things you’ll lose forever. Age is an irreversible thing so we can’t do anything about it, is there anything beside age that makes you feel the same?
I wonder if there’s anything else that you won’t be able to get again if you missed it. One thing I can think of is my own life, but everyone treasures their own life, right? But actually age is just the same thing, if you missed it, you could never get it back.
- And you’ve noticed that.
Eh? Everyone should notice it.
- No, I barely ever think about my life that way, and I suddenly feel I’ve wasted lots of my time (laugh). This book is released at the moment you turned 30 years old, so I would like to look at Sato Takeru’s 30 years of life. However, it seems that you’ve already talked about your past [in various places]..
Yes. So I think I don’t have any more interesting episodes.
- By the way, in the past you said that you’ve got your own personality shaped well in your 2nd year of middle school?
I think I said that multiple times before.
- You’re quite into dramas and movies from that time, and because of that you’re attracted to this (entertainment) world?
Right.
- Before that, for instance in a school festival, did you have any experience of acting as any character?
I think I also talked about this somewhere, but I performed in “Peter Pan” when I was in kindergarten.
- As Peter Pan?
As Michael. I think he’s Wendy’s little brother. There’s this guy called Michael who always had a teddy bear with him. But at that time, originally there was no role for Michael. Because there was no such role, I had to request it directly from my teacher that I wanted to play as Michael, and then that role was created for me. That’s why among lots of people played Peter Pan or Wendy, there was only 1 person who played as Michael.
- Did you request Michael’s role because you realized that?
No, it’s not because I realized there will be many people with the same roles, I think I really just want to play as Michael. I wanted to play as him, but that role was not present at that time.
- Even though you know there was such a character.
Yes. Maybe I just asked “why?” I wonder if it’s because I wanted to carry a teddy bear. There had to be a reason why I was drawn to that role. Or maybe it’s something related to the age.
- Did you like Peter Pan back then?
I watched various things, not just Peter Pan. I watched lots of Disney titles like Mickey (Mouse) or (Winnie the) Pooh. I’ve also watched (My Neighbor) Totoro, Tom and Jerry, and Kamen Rider too.
- So Michael is the first role ever you received?
I performed in Alice (in Wonderland) too, but I couldn’t remember which one is the first. I think it was some kind of school festival in my kindergarten days, where I remembered I played as a rabbit in Alice (in Wonderland) and as Michael in Peter Pan. I remembered I played as a rabbit together with my friend.
- Any other roles you did in other school festivals?
There were none after that.
“Because I want to punish that awful fish character, one day, I told my parents “I want to go inside the TV”
- And it went straight to Princess Princess D after that?
Ah, no, I just remembered I’ve worked as a child actor before! I once actually debuted as a child actor. Working under an agency for child actors.
- Because your mom put you in?
No. Here’s the thing, I think I never talked about this anywhere before, I…. When I was 5 or 6 years old, there was an advertisement about a very awful fish swimming around. I was really pissed off seeing that ad. It’s just really awful. Like Jerry in Tom and Jerry. Although maybe people would think it’s cute, it’s still horrible. That’s why when I watched Tom and Jerry, there’s this desire to punish Jerry, and it’s the same for this fish, I just wanted to chop off that fish (laugh). However as a kid, I tried to not say it out loud, but one day, I told my parents that “I want to go inside the TV”. The reason was simply because I wanted to punish and chop off that fish. And then, they took me to become a child actor.
- Were you active as a child actor?
I passed an audition for an ad about an alphabet toy in which you press a button and it will tell you how to pronounce it. I was also a model for child outfits too.
- About when?
The first years of elementary school. I think I quit when I was in 3rd or 4th year.
- And why was that?
Firstly, I was really shy at that time. I was really shy, so I couldn’t really express myself well in the auditions. Like in that toy ad, I was told to be happy after pushing the button, but I was too shy that I couldn’t let out a happy face. I tried so many times but I was still shy. Because there’s nothing else they can do, on the contrary, they said that my shy face looked cute so they decided to use that. The talk became “I think because he’s too shy, he’s not suitable for this kind of work”, and I agreed, so in the end I quit. There was this drama called “Hoshi no Kinka”, right? I was one of the extras at that time.
- So you’ve already experienced a drama scene before?! I wonder if we could see you on screen.
I was one of the extras for the crowd. So if we sum it up, my works at that time were only as one of the extras for “Hoshi no Kinka”, model of child outfits, and that toy ad.
- At that time, the concept of acting didn’t leave a deep impression on you.
It really didn’t. But it was mostly because I was too shy so I couldn’t do anything. And then when I was in middle school, I liked lots of dramas and movies and I was getting very interested (in acting), but the moment I was scouted, although I was interested more in becoming an actor, at first I really couldn’t imagine myself acting. I was really sure that I couldn’t do it well.
- And the reason for that “belief” is your past experience as a child actor?
It was one of the reasons. But I just felt that I couldn’t do it.
- Other than acting, how do you feel when you have to present something in front of the crowd?
I’ve really avoided it.
- Even dance?
There were lots of dance recitals at that moment, but when I was asked by my classmates whether I can dance or not, I was reluctant so I didn’t tell them. Talking about dance performances in events such as high school festivals, although the others did it, I didn’t. It’s common when it is your class’ turn to perform, everyone else in the class will cheer for them, right? Most of my classmates participated, but I didn’t.
- So that was your high school days. But then you were scouted when you’re 17 years old, debuted while you were still in high school, and now you’re here 13 years later, it’s really amazing when you think about it.
Looking back from my childhood days, you can say that it’s an peculiar story. I even quitted from being a child actor once.
- Although there was a possibility of continuing your career as a child actor at that time.
Then I would live a totally different life. However, if you’re not as good as Kamiki (Ryuunosuke), I think it will be hard to continue as a child actor.
- You said that you talked about your desire to become an actor to one friend. Did you talk about your ambitions as well?
No. I can’t remember the details, but rather than telling him that I want to become an actor, the most I could tell him is that I was interested in acting. Let alone talking about ambitions, I wasn’t even thinking about any specific targets. Thinking about it now, if I wasn’t scouted, maybe I could just join a theatre company. In high school you were asked about your future career, right? When I read books about getting a job, I couldn’t find out what I wanted to do. I was only interested in becoming an actor. I even didn’t know that to become an actor I had to join an entertainment agency.
- So there was a possibility of entering a slightly unusual theatre company.
It’s highly likely possible.
- And looks like you’ve seen performances by NODA.MAP too.
That’s because I was a fan of Fukatsu (Eri)-san. I watched the play which had Fukatsu-san in it.
- When you were in high school?
3rd year of middle or 1st year of high school, I think.
- And you bought the ticket by yourself?
I called one of the ticketing services. Because it would sell out really fast, so I called them as soon as I could.
- Have you watched any other plays besides that one?
I think I watched a few times, like 3 or 4 times. Also when I was active in dancing, there was a moment when a stage actor came to my dance school. So at that time I also watched several small plays in a small theatre.
- Were you surprised the first time you watched a play by NODA.MAP? Although both of them fall into the same category which is acting, it’s a quite different type from TV dramas or highly entertaining movies.
But we’re talking about days before I was scouted. That was the first time I went to Harajuku too, as a guy living in Saitama and never been to Harajuku before, the act of going alone at night, by train, after school days to Shibuya to watch a play itself was really unusual I think.
- You said Shibuya, was it in Bunkamura Theatre Cocoon?
I wonder. I went to watch “Hashire Merusu” at that time.
- If you watched it when you were in high school, the ticket price must be very expensive, right?
Definitely.
- Even though you were a fan of Fukatsu-san, it’s still quite an amazing action.
Basically, I’m the person who gets hooked on what I like. I was quite obsessed with Fukatsu-san and various dramas at that time. I borrowed lots of drama CDs and watched them. Because there was no Tsutaya at that time, I went to the nearest video rental store, borrowed in bulk, and watched them all. I collected magazines too. I was hooked on card games too. Whether it’s Yu-Gi-Oh or Pokemon trading card game, you name it.
- Do you still have that kind of obsession now?
I was hooked on Othello at one time, but for now I think it’s between Nazotoki (solving mysteries) or Jinro (Werewolf) or escape games. I have always liked games even until now. I have this odd competitive attitude. When I was in elementary school, Harry Potter was really famous at that time, everyone read the new books by the time they were released, I wanted to be the fastest one to finish the books at that time. That’s why I bought the books at the release date, and stayed up all night to read it even though I was still a kid back then. The same thing when a new game was released, I wanted to be the fastest one to be the strongest, so I stayed up all night and kept practising. Another one when a Pokemon game was released, I wanted to be the fastest one to clear the game so I was playing all the time.
- Are you the type of kid who would say “Oh I’ve finished that one”?
I’d totally do that. Maybe I just wanted to be the very best in everything (laugh).
- (laugh) But I can see that competitive mindset is present in your current work.
Rather than that, I feel like my true nature remains unchanged.
- Also, your mom was quite a lenient one, allowing an elementary student to stay up all night like that.
No, I did it in secret, so that she wouldn’t find out.
- I think she definitely knew it.
Right. So there were times she’s mad at me. But since she said “It’s alright if you could wake up early”, there were times when I slept and woke up early too.
- You said that your elementary and middle school days were quite normal, but it seems it didn’t look that normal to me.
I thought it was normal, but well, when you try to see it objectively, you can see the difference with others. Although it doesn’t mean that I stood out from the rest back then, because I managed to match my pace with others, in that sense, I could say I was pretty normal.
- You didn’t feel out of place.
Yes. But there were times I did think, “eh, I think it’s a bit different” or “I can’t keep up with them”.
- Talking about the summary of your life until 30 years old, you were really busy during your late teenage years to early 20s. Despite that condition, I can see that you can maintain calmness, without any sign of being tired mentally, or even being desperate . “This man is strong” I think.
If I have to give a model answer, or should I say a favorable answer, it’s mainly because I’ve been blessed with good luck and good people around me. I really feel it in reality. However, if I have to give an answer that is closer to the truth, when you’re given a certain mission to clear, between 2 people who did the same thing, one can do it easily, one needs a lot of efforts to clear it. Based on that example, I think I’m the first one. That’s why despite the busy schedule, I think my degree of difficulty is lower than others. No matter how difficult, I feel I can find the shortest path to overcome that hurdle, and quite skilled to find a way to solve the problem.
- Maybe it’s because you’re used to took on big projects since a young age. Have you ever become overwhelmed by pressure?
(Resolutely) No. I think I’ve previously talked about it, I’m not really interested in the word “pressure”. It doesn’t resonate with me. The reason is, whether the pressure is there or not, you still need to do the same thing. I know it’s really difficult when you don’t know anything and try to find the answer, and when you find the answer, your decision shouldn’t change just because of the pressure. That’s why I almost never think about pressure. If I have to rank that word in my list of “thinking about that won’t get you anywhere” ranking, it will get a high rank from me.
“That’s why I almost never think about pressure. If I have to rank that word in my list of ‘thinking about that won’t get you anywhere’ ranking, it will get a high rank from me”
- I’m interested in that ranking. What are the others?
(laugh) I just thought of this ranking on the spot so I can’t think about the others, but “pressure” is certainly placed quite at the top.
- However, to overcome that pressure, for instance, athletes also need to do mental training besides physical training.
Mental training eh…. I wonder though. But in the end, if we’re talking about athletes, no matter how much of your effort in mental training, the most impactful will still be your daily practices.
- We cannot forget about nervousness though.
Of course. I understand that athletes too must feel nervous. Although I’m not sure whether they are nervous because of pressure or not.
- Can you understand that great expectations are felt as pressure by some people?
I totally can understand it, but in the end they still need to do the same thing. If people put great expectations on you, you have to work hard to meet those expectations. That’s why there is no room for hesitation. Keep calm, as long as you know what to do, you just need to keep that in mind and act accordingly.
- I could say that you’ve played a lot of roles that demand you to practise to a certain level of mastery, I see that you tend to keep those stories to yourself.
About this, it will be quite a different reason with the ones we’ve talked so far, because it’s for aesthetic reasons. It’s because I think it’s just uncool to talk about one’s effort. It will be much cooler to not talk about it, I did that for the ideal image of myself. This so-called self-consciousness has been growing in me since my high school days, and I acted on it in kinda extreme ways during high school.
- Keeping that cool character all the time.
Exactly. The “cool” self. The one who doesn’t mingle with others. The one who does not butt in. That’s why I didn’t join the cheering crowd. I could dance, but I prefer not to say it. Now I realize that it was quite an extreme approach to create the ideal image of myself. When I think about it, I have wasted much time by doing those, I was simply a weird guy back then. Nowadays, I think I am able to become more natural compared to how I was back then, even when I end up doing extreme things, I think people would be okay with it because I’m an actor.
- Just like feeling irritated seeing that awful fish, you certainly have your own emotional ups and downs, haven’t you?
Definitely, I did cry when I watch movies.
- And it’s been like that since you were a kid.
Compared to the present time, yes. However, I think the frequency is still lower than others.
- But then, you haven’t thought about the aesthetic side at that time, right?
No, but I think it’s more like instinctively thinking “that person is cool”, so maybe I was already attracted to cool people at that time.
- Since that time, you already prefer to quietly observe with a bird’s eye view, rather than being in the center of attention.
Yes. I joined youth baseball at that time, despite most people around me liking top Kyojin players, I always liked Orix’s Ichiro, and I was alone.
“I think this era is simply an era where there is a lot of room for improvement in everything”
- As a kid back then, what influenced you to form that personality?
In terms of character building, I think manga influenced me the most. Putting aside things like interaction with friends, if we talk about external stimuli, it will be from manga, games, then dramas, movies, and books. In terms of my way of thinking, I got it mainly from manga and games. For instance, when you wanted to defeat your opponent in a serious battle of Yu-Gi-Oh, you had to spend a lot of time building the deck, also I remembered various maps from Momotetsu (Momotarou Dentetsu) game.
- (laugh)
I just can’t forget the knowledge I obtained from various games. For instance, some games might have subtle historical references, and I will always remember the knowledge I got from those games. I’m not good at geography and history, but if I learned it from games it will be harder for me to forget about it. Going back to the personality topic, I have to say manga influenced me the most. The reason I picked “Tenshi na Konamaiki (Cheeky Angel)” as my favorite manga, because it’s my life philosophy book. I discovered the character I admire, the character I want to be in that manga. I put a lot of effort into becoming that kind of person, or more precisely, I was aiming to be that kind of person.
- While many people are influenced by subculture, your personality stays the same even if you’re now an adult. You are not easily affected by things in front of you, even if it will make your life easier.
In other words, I have not changed at all since my 2nd year of middle school.
- So you’re basically a pure guy.
I’m pure (laugh). I really am.
- I remember you said that in the past you would sometimes hold back because you tend to worry about others’ opinions, are you still like that now?
I wonder about that. I can say that I’ve changed, at least I’m not that self-conscious anymore. In the past, I often thought that I had to be more modest and had to be careful with my words, but now I think sometimes it’s good to just express my thoughts directly.
- Since when did you feel that?
I think gradually, starting from around mid to late 20s.
- Was it because you started appearing in the media that made you feel self-conscious?
Yes. Although rather than being self-conscious, I think I was being careful at that time. Of course I’m still mindful of others, but you can say that I was like that because I was still a freshman at that time, as a working-adult.
- You are getting more comfortable with other things too, not just in expressing your opinion?
I think you’re right, I’m getting more comfortable now, yes.
- Is there any changes in your work style then? For instance, in Ajin, you were involved in a pretty intense discussion even right from the preparation stage.
It’s really different compared to the past. That kind of approach is quite normal now I think. I never think that an actor must play his role as he is told to do, he only needs to enact exactly as what the director wants. My mindset is simply because we are creating this movie together, if I see something that can make this movie better, I will suggest it to them.
- But there are some people who believe that actors should do as instructed.
Right, that’s why from the moment I heard that, I’m still questioning that belief, I even once asked myself whether I was the one who was wrong. Of course I don’t deny that kind of mindset or method, but now I can surely say that’s not how I work as an actor.
- Recently, the number of actors involved in production and creation of various projects has increased, hasn’t it?
I’m not sure about that, but I think it’s better if it keeps increasing.
- Still, the mindset of actors should do nothing more than acting is relatively firmly established in Japan, isn’t it?
Surely there are some directors who like to work with actors who have that kind of mindset. I think just let those directors work with those kind of actors, if let’s say I want to work under such a director, I just need to adjust my acting style to suit that director.
- Soon you will turn 30, do you have anything in mind regarding your future outlook?
I have, but I wonder if I should say it here, what to do..
- You said that you want to get things done while in your 20s, so do you feel like wanting to make a fresh start in your 30s?
I have that kind of feeling to some extent. However, in every project, what I need to do is only to face the role I’m playing, so there won’t be any changes to what I usually do. If I try to look deeper, it’s true that my working method has totally changed, and I’m still going to change. Simply put, in this kind of era, whether in society or in the entertainment world, I think it’s an era where there is a lot of room for improvement in everything. I would like to take the initiative in doing those improvements.
- Not only for yourself, but also for a larger audience.
Right. For every action, everyone surely has their own preferences. By continuing to gather those ideas, in the end, you will know how to make it even better.
- You feel that there is still room for improvement.
Definitely. I’ve been thinking about it for a while, but Korean dramas are fascinating. It can be watched from all over the world. If Korea can do that, why can't Japan? I think we’re always left behind. Along with having access to faster internet speed, it feels like they are always looking for the best approach to everything. I know I was scared the first time I’ve seen something like that, and if I can, I want to take the initiative and become a pioneer in those kind of improvements.
- From that point of view, it feels like you’re looking at various possibilities out there.
That’s right. It will be nice if I can start contributing in my 30s. Take Taiga drama as an example, it’s wonderful to work on it for the entire year, isn’t it? It’s really difficult to play the same role for a year. So if you decided to do such difficult work, wouldn’t it be better if whole world can watch it? Wouldn’t it be better that way? Something like that.
- It’s pretty much a decent idea. It’s more rewarding that way too.
It’s definitely better, right? You will get much more money. If it’s really worth that much, I’m sure we actors will do it.
- Do you feel any rivalry between actors?
Definitely yes.
- As an individual, how would you like your 30s to be?
As an individual, so about things outside work? In that sense, I rarely ponder about things outside work.
- I’m talking about your private life, like things you want to enjoy more.
Nope, I don’t think about that.
- So you are satisfied with your current situation?
I’m very satisfied. And I think I never really separate my private and work life, I only live based on what I want to do.
- What about things like future plans?
Future plans like family? Or marriage life. If that’s the case then I haven’t considered it.
- Have you ever imagined things like when you come home you’ll be greeted by your cute wife?
I think I’m the type of person who can do a better performance because I have a cute wife waiting at home, so I’d love to see that happen. Although the timing doesn’t matter at all, because it’s not like something you can do because you wish for it, so thinking about it won’t get you anywhere.
- So because someone is waiting for you at home, you’d be able to work harder.
I think so. Although I have no experience regarding that so I can’t say anything else.
- You’re not the type of person who tells others to leave you alone either.
I think no. Probably.
- You said that you basically feel lonely easily, didn’t you?
But recently I really enjoy being alone more than ever.
- What do you do when you’re alone?
Watching movies, taking a bath, solving mysteries. Those times are really the best. Of course I love to spend my time playing with good friends, but I feel the same level of happiness in being alone.
- Do you have things left to do in your 20s?
I think I would like to play more roles in love stories. Titles like “Hachinengoshi no Hanayome (8-Year Engagement)” are kinda difficult to classify as a love story though.
- What kind of love stories do you prefer?
I want something that shines. In that sense, “Kanojo wa Uso wo Aishisugiteru (The Liar and His Lover)” was interesting.
- Do you have any favorite love stories?
Maybe “Love Actually”? But it didn’t really feel like a love story. I’m saying things like these, but maybe it’s just I don’t really like love stories, based on what I’ve watched. I did like “Long Vacation” though.
- You want to do it, but it seems you’re not really interested in that genre?
I’m really interested though.
- So you’re interested (laugh). Then I wish you can meet a love story that you’ll like, and you can be a part of it. Lastly, please leave a message to your fans.
“ In that sense, along with turning 30, I’d like to do something to deliver my fanservice better”
Umm, let’s see, message to fans eh…. (thinking for a while). What I’ve said before about “hoping things to get better”, it’s not only addressed to my future works, I think it can be applied to various aspects of my relationship with fans too. Expressing my gratitude to the fans, thinking about how to make them feel happy, well, even though I’ve been doing it naturally. In that sense, along with turning 30, I’d like to do something to deliver my fanservice better. I feel that I found lots of improvement points in my 20s. My regrets about fanservice…. In much simpler words, it’s because I feel at some moment I’ve made my fans feel lonely. I did a lot of things in my early 20s, but I stopped writing blogs, then entered my mid 20s, then I began to enjoy working as a movie actor…. Even though they must feel lonely (laugh). However, even after such things happened, I’m still feeling grateful for people who keep supporting me, so from now on…. I’m not going to let that happen anymore.
- Ooh!
I’m very sure that no one hates to do things that will make their fans happy. Because I’m truly happy doing it. I don’t think there is anyone who hates people who tell them they like you, right? That’s why I’d like to communicate more with those people, showing that I care about them. Well at least I began to think about that in recent years. I haven’t seen the finished version of this book, but I’m very grateful that I have been given the chance to create this book. Thank you very much for listening to my selfishness.
~~~
SHL 2012 ending letter
HONEEEY FLASH!! 🐱
~~~
I originally thought that I want to share my thoughts after watching the live viewing of Super Handsome Live (SHL) 2012 on July 15, but because it will be filled mostly with my ramblings about Takeru’s performances and antics, I decided not to continue on that way LOL.
One thing I can say for anyone here still wondering to watch it or not, especially if you’re a fan of Takeru, because SHL 2012 was his last year performing in the whole event, it’s worth every single penny.
So instead of ramblings, I decided to share a quick translation for a letter that is read during the ending of the show, written and read by all performers. For me, this is a beautiful thank you letter from them 💖
As always, please don’t repost without permission, thank you!
Kazama Yujiro: All of you, thank you for today. At the end of this day, all of us have the same thoughts to tell to all of you, so we wrote this letter together.
Yoshimura Takuya: We as actors, normally don't have that many chances to directly meet all of you who have been rooting for us.
Totani Kimito: That's why we arranged this yearly Handsome Live, so we can directly deliver our gratitude to all of you.
Aoyagi Ruito: To enjoy together even more, to laugh together even more, to be able to feel the excitement together even more, we created this event as a result of our intense practice.
Kamiki Ryuunosuke: We are worried if our current effort is correct. However after listening to your voices and seeing your smiles, for the first time we are able to feel relieved.
Izuka Kenta: One smile creates new smiles, thus becoming a much bigger smile.
Mizuta Kouki: You can believe that the connection is not one-sided, that you are connected with us.
Koseki Yuta: Thank you for supporting us. Thank you for pushing our back.
Matsushima Shota: Thank you for walking together with us.
Yanagisawa Takahiko: The gratitude we want to tell you, is not enough with only one word.
Uehara Takuya: Thank you very, very much.
Nomura Shuhei: During hard times, during lonely times enough to make you cry, we hope that you will remember this day.
Hirano Kinari: Please don't forget that you have all of us.
Yoshizawa Ryo: We'll be really glad if we can become your mental support even if it's only a little.
Hirama Soichi: From now on, we will continue to challenge new things, so that we can become the pride of all of you supporting us.
Kaku Kento: Let's walk together towards a brighter future.
Miura Haruma: Lastly, we really love all of you.
Sato Takeru: Until next time, we look forward to a day we'll meet again. We hope that your 2013 will be filled with happiness. Thank you very much for this 1 year.
ありがとう、大好きだよ! 心から感謝してる。 これからもずっとその笑顔で 僕のそばにいて、君だけを見てる❤️

Hey everyone! These are the skills I used to learn German in about two weeks! It takes a lot of work obviously but it’s so worth it. 💕⚡️
1. Use a language program like Memrise or Duolingo. I think that programs like these are super helpful for getting acquainted with the language you want to learn and for understanding basic grammar. I mostly use them as a break from the other work that I do but they are definitely good practice.
2. Make a list of the top 1,000 most common words and work on memorizing them in chunks. I worked on memorizing about 50-100 words a day. It sounds like a lot but many of the words are different verb tenses of the same word so it ends up being less work that you expect. Also, from using Memrise and Duolingo, a lot of the words were already familiar to me. I wrote a list of the words for the day each morning and during my breaks from school work I would quiz myself on them.
3. Watch lots of Youtube videos to study grammar and tenses. The internet is your friend when it comes to learning a new language so take advantage of the resources! I would google everything that confused me and watch videos on it until I felt like I really had a grasp. Doing this ensures that you have a strong foundation to learn new vocabulary.
4. Translate music from your main language into your target language and vice versa. This is a fun way that I would practice verb conjugations and my vocabulary recollection. Any word that I hadn’t learned already, I would look up and be able to add it to my vocab list. Also, this is really fun practice and the rhythm made it easier to remember what I was learning.
5. Keep a post-it note to write down any questions you have or things that you don’t understand. This way, you can remember to look up what was confusing you instead of forgetting what you don’t know. By keeping track of what I understood well and what I needed to continue practicing, I was more organized in my practice and spent my time better.
This obviously isn’t an easy way to learn a language but you defintiely get results based on the effort you put in. Message me if you have any other suggestions for langblrs, I’m always interested in learning more!

Tools to communicate with fans
(pic: Weibo)
Maybe some of you wondered why Takeru chooses LINE and SUGAR as his main tools to communicate with his fans, rather than mainstream platforms like Twitter and Instagram. Well, he did talked about that during the interview in Nylon magazine May issue, and after reading that one, I can only say that I’m totally agree with his reasoning ❤️
Back then when I worked on this interview, I can only find the low resolution scans so I decided to translate only the part about this topic, so sorry if this is not a fully-translated interview 🙏🏻
N: Nylon, T: Takeru, K: Keisuke
N: Takeru-san, you held SUGAR sessions after Koitsuzu shooting, right? From the way you communicate with your fans, we can feel that it's something very important to you. What made you start doing it? T: As for how I connect with fans, I think it's the same with Keisuke, so I was given the chance to hold a fan event right after I debuted as Kamen Rider (KR). At that event, I learned about the importance and how wonderful to have an interactive communication with the fans at real time. That's one thing I don't want to forget.
N: Why did you choose SUGAR? T: Because the distance [between me and fans] are close. Because the most important thing is to make fans happy, that's why I chose SUGAR and LINE.
N: We feel that it's a unique combination. K: Do you originally know SUGAR? T: No, I don't N: We also registered at SUGAR because of Takeru-san. T: I'm grateful there are so many people registered, so many until sometimes the servers could not handle it. N: How do you choose the person you want to call? T: Depends on my mood at that time. N: There are fans who likes to talk a lot, right? T: Because I already did something similar at KR fan event, that experience was very valuable for me. N: Did Keisuke-san also have lots of communication with fans during KR event? K: Quite a lot. There was an event where we gathered in a room with fans who won the event raffle, they were happy when I said a line from my role, someone said "Today is my 5th birthday so please say Happy Birthday" and I did it, I could feel the real reaction from them, it was a precious experience for me. I think that events like that are very important.
N: Keisuke-san, how do you feel about your appearance at SUGAR? K: In the middle, there was a moment where I was alone, right? I feel sorry about it. T: Nope, I think you enjoyed it the most at that time. All: (laugh) N: Is there anything you realized when communicating with fans in SUGAR and LINE? T: The feeling is a bit different if you compare with SNS posting. Nowadays, it's normal to use Twitter or Instagram, right? However, that feels like, you post something to the public, and the fans will see it, right? What I want to do is, I don't want to just post something to the public, I want to deliver something to the fans. That's why I think Twitter and Instagram doesn't feel right. Actually the way you operate them are the same. You typed "Ohayou (Good morning)" and broadcast it. If you send it with LINE, it will feel like my message is delivered to that person. That's why at least the fans can get that feeling. So rather than sending a "Good morning" to the general public, it has changed to a "Good morning" message for the fans. When I'm doing this, I'm thinking about the purpose of I'm doing this. In the end, SUGAR is also a type of a live broadcast, but the difference with Instagram live is, when you connect with the fans, you are doing it for them. You don't just broadcast it for the public. I'm doing it with such feeling. I think it's something I take it seriously. In KR era, I can only use Ameblo as a tool to connect with the fans. That's why I treat Ameblo very seriously, I decided to write a blog post everyday, and it went on for 2 years. By doing that kind of things, I can build a good relationship with them. The concept is similar with a couple relationship, by doing little things like that, you got fans who can really support you. However, it's difficult to write a blog post everyday so I stopped doing that, and start with "Taketere", an online live broadcast. Gradually the tools I use to connect are changing, and now my main tools are LINE and SUGAR.

Hi, just wanted to ask how did u learn japanese?
Hi~ i started learning japanese in an extracurricular during mid/high school, but bcos i originally love manga/anime and i felt those lessons in school were not enough, i started learning more by myself. I also took JLPT (kind of TOEFL but for japanese) to measure how far i’ve learned. One thing I can say, my learning motivation became more intense after I became Takeru’s fan, and found out that almost all of his variety shows have no english subtitles, and I need to understand them 😂

Takeru’s way of saying thank you
“Please be careful on your way home.“
This message, handwritten by him, was shown at the end of his 30th birthday event last year. What a lovely way to end the event, right?
I sometimes think why he’s doing this far for his fans, even after he’s getting more and more famous like now. He can just doing his work as usual, doing movies, dramas, without any interactions with fans, and I’m sure there are lots of people still will watch it. But he chooses to do something extra, through events, LINE, and Sugar, to provide fans some way to connect with him. He always said during the fan meetings, that he won’t be able to reach this far without his fans. So, maybe it’s just his ways of saying thank you to us. What a man.
I think because he understands that not all of us can just go to attend his events, he provides another way to convey his gratitude, and what’s even better, he chooses to convey it through one of his favorite things, riddle :))
(P.S: it will be a quite long post below, you have been warned :3)
First of all, just to avoid any misinterpretations, this is the 30th birthday anniversary book:
This book, or I should say dictionary, consists of every single piece of his work from his debut, be it, movie, drama, photobook, calendar, Taketere, you name it. After you’ve read all of it (it will take around 2 weeks according to Takeru XD), at the very last page, you will find a mysterious content:
You must be wondering what the heck is this, right? Don’t worry, I also felt the same at the first time seeing this XDD
The Japanese words loosely reads as: “My feelings is written at the tip of ......”
Now we have to find a way on how to fill those six words, so we can get the answer based on the highlighted boxes.
If you read the book close enough, you will find out that there are more riddles hidden throughout the pages, and you have to solve each of that, so we will need 6 riddles to fill all the blanks.
(Ah yes, so Takeru has provided the explanations for this riddle in Taketere 64, so you can watch that too~ )
For the first one, letter A, we need to turn the page to p.39:
See something different? As a warning, all of the riddles will be that small XD
Lemme make it bigger, riddle A is: “ ひandまand ”.
For this, you’ll need a bit of Japanese knowledge. “and” is “to (と)” in Japanese, so we just need to read that as is, and we’ll get “ひとまとめ (hitomatome)” as the answer~
Move on to the next one, let’s open p.157:
We need to zoom this one in, so here it is:
Recognize something? Yup, so those 4 icons at the corner represent the suits of a card, thus the next step will be easy:
1 = ace = えーす 11 = jack = じゃっく 12 = queen = くいーん 13 = king = きんぐ
Then we just need to put these in the blanks, read the letters based on the numbers, and we’ll get “jinx (じんくす)” as the answer~
Move on to the next one, p.179:
“What is the animal name in ???“
This one will be a bit tricky. Notice that the letter C is kinda out of place compared to the previous riddle. Actually, it serves as a hint, saying that we have to add some letters around it to make this one more readable. The other hint is lots of “か (ka)”. There is a set of Japanese words that ends with “ka”, and that is the first ten days of Japanese dates (tsuitachi, futsuKA, mikKA, yokKA, etc). Because the last 2 letters are already present, so we just need to add the first letter, becoming like this (tsuitachi - ついたち - 1st is an exception because we need to add 2 letters):
From this illustration, we can see that the answer is “itachi - いたち - weasel”.
And we’re half way already! Let’s take a break~
Okay, so let’s continue with letter D, let’s open p.221:
I really couldn’t solve this one at that time lol. Annoying things about fill the blanks, when you don’t get the theme, you won’t be able to solve it. And for this one, the hint is only those letters....
Thanks for Takeru’s explanation, we now know that these letters represent Japanese era name, and by looking at the letters, the eras we need are (left > right): Meiji > Taishou > Shouwa > Heisei. Put them all into the boxes:
Read it with the given order, and we’ll get: “たんじょう - tanjou - birth” as the answer~
Let’s move to letter E in p.267:
For this one, you actually don’t need any Japanese knowledge, you just need to look at the shapes of the question, and compare with the big picture, so the answer will be taken from 2nd, 9th, and 7th letter, and we’ll get: “じゆう - freedom” as the answer~
Last one! Turn to p.371:
“Name a person who always eats udon as the final dish after eating nabe“
This is another tricky question, and we need to read the book again thoroughly to be able to understand it. Specifically, the hint is written in Takeru’s answer to Suzuki Ryohei’s birthday message:
“saigoudooon“ ---> “saigo (end)” + “udooon“
Got it? “always eats udon as the final dish”
He purposely gives us a word pun LOL.
So the person is Suzuki Ryohei, or rather, his role as Saigou Takamori, which is also called Saigou-don (Mr. Saigou in Kagoshima dialect), so the answer is “さいごうたかもり - saigou takamori”.
So! We’ve got all 6 answers. All we need is go back to the last page, and put all of those letters in the boxes like this:
“My feelings is written at the tip of a tranquilizer gun (the highlighted word is masuijuu - tranquilizer gun)“
That’s it???
Well actually, this message is the final riddle from him. As he said in Taketere, if we really read this book thoroughly and been following his career for years, this sentence must mean something.
Does “tranquilizer gun” ring a bell?
Not yet? Then how about this:
If this doesn’t help either, then you still have homework to do :>
So, yes, because we need to look for this gun picture in the book, the fastest way is to go through AJIN section, and look for any gun picture.
But there’s nothing about the gun in AJIN section...
There is this cute “frozen” Takeru and Ayano Go tho XDD
Let’s open the book again from the beginning.. So before the start of the whole list of his project, there’s this page called PLAYBACK, which contains the photo summary of all of his projects. If we look at this page thoroughly... FINALLY we’ll find a gun picture, and this is the proof:
“written at the tip of a tranquilizer gun”
So we need to look around this picture to find out, if we zoom it in:
“大好き。“ - “DAISUKI.“ handwritten by himself.
😭😭😭
Still not enough? Actually he still has more to give us. Go to this website, input the answer (ますいじゅう), and hit submit (送信).
Then, when the next page appears, enter the page of the message, because it’s on p.16, so input “016”, and hit submit again.
You will get a zoom-able Playback cover picture. Find out the message in that picture, and click it. If you are lost, just find that Nagai picture or look at this guide (circled red):
Has the picture loaded?
Yup, we will get ANOTHER thank you message 😭
"Thank you for reading '13years~TAKERU SATOH ANNIVERSARY BOOK 2006→2019~' until the end. Please look forward to the 30-year-old-Satou Takeru!"
Isn’t he just too sweet? 😭😭😭

Takeru’s work-ethic
I found an interesting article from JPrime talking about Takeru’s career development. Although it’s more like compilations of his past interviews with comments from various person, so not exactly a new content haha..
Below are some excerpts from the article, you can read the full version here.
As always, pls don’t repost without permission, thanks!
"I want to reach a point where people would say 'I want Sato Takeru to play this role'"
This was Sato's answer to a question in an interview in his photobook released before he turned 20 years old, about how he sees himself in 10 years later. Many actors will answer it differently during each of their career growth. However, surprisingly, while revisiting his old interviews, I realize that his statements are mostly consistent.
"Normally, he is not the type of person who talks passionately about acting, but I think he has this unshakable pride towards his work. A few young actors changed their attitude completely after they become famous, but Sato-san still keeps the same attitude towards the staff since he debuted, and his thoughts and statements are consistent." (from staffs)
When Ruroken was released in 2012, which later becomes one of his most important work, he's getting more famous among the actors in the same generation. Without being hung up by on his looks and popularity, he talked about the reason of his successful career in one of his interviews.
"I can say that there are 3 stages in my career. The first stage is shortly after my debut, as you work on various projects, you have to constantly level up as an actor, this was always in my mind at that time. On top of that, I also thought about choosing projects without having your image fixed into a certain category, and also the popularity of the project."
Even though he is still a teenager at that time, he already observed things from a "producer perspective", looking at himself objectively.
"The second stage is when you are able to perform as the main cast, I began to think about `if you decide to do it, you better create a good piece of work`, and also `If you play that role and the project turns out to be bad, don't do it`. Even now, I'm still pay attention to these things."
And then, now is his third stage.
"On the contrary, I'm thinking if it's alright to do anything"
Because of his criteria in choosing his projects, he performed in 45 drama/movies during his 14 years of career. Considering about his popularity and his talent, it surprisingly feels not that many...
"He quickly realized that an actor cannot always maintain his popularity. On top of that he had to constantly think about how to be always up to date... There are times when he is prepared to be called cocky, such as rejecting the offer to play in a very popular title." (drama staffs)
The reason of why he didn't get any fierce criticism, was because of his stoic and perfect preparation of his role, which is able to support his acting ability.
(omitted)
Talking about Koitsuzu, which has made women throughout Japan fell in love with him, Takou Wakako-san, who is a freelance writer, praised his "thoroughly calculated" performance as follows:
"Before the shooting starts, he is the type who discusses a lot with the director. Also he cares a lot about the delivery, so when he decides to do a mainstream romance drama, he wants to be a heartthrob, by thoroughly researching on how to make girls excited, and I can see that his effort was a total success. I think he will get more offers for heartthrob roles, but it also means that we will get to see his other faces, and I'm excited for that."

Birthday present from Takeru
Let’s fast-forward to the present time.
Have you guys survived from the latest Men’s Non-no impact? 😹
For me, the latest issue of Men’s Non-no became much more special than before, because not only Takeru is in the cover issue, but also it was released exactly on my birthday! Can you imagine how happy I was when they announced it?
Furthermore, I figured out that Men’s Non-no has the digital version, sold through Kinokuniya JP webstore. I quickly set up my account and everything, preordered it as soon it was available on the store, and downloaded it as soon it became available. It was the first time I get to access a Takeru-related goods on the release date, because as you know, being an international fans means you have to wait for a while until your goods are delivered, right? :”)
So here is the interview, with some gorgeous photos from the magazine itself, enjoy!
(Disclaimer: All photos are from my digital version of the magz, all translations are done by myself, pls don’t repost without permission, thank you!)

How to Relax and Stay Positive - Special Interview with Takeru Satoh
Definition of my comfortable fashion
Q: For Men's Non-no, today is the day we're back on doing photoshoots after 2 months. We welcomed Takeru-san, and you livened up the set too. A: I'm also back at the set after a long time, especially for work related to fashion photoshoots like this. It was really fun. Q: For the outfits you would like to wear for this project, we received your requests beforehand. We felt your extra care about fashion, but do you normally like to explore various clothes? A: I think, yes. But rather than that, I have this mindset which is "I just want to wear this kind of clothes". Between my 10s and around early 20s, I loved to look at various clothes, and thinking about I want to wear various things. But recently, I strongly think that I only want to choose clothes that fits me nicely and comfortable to wear. It doesn't matter whether it's for costume or my own clothes, I only wear what I want to wear, and I feel it's connected to my current stance which is doing only what I want to do, and gradually I begin to put extra attention to that. By having the thoughts of "I don't want to wear this kind of clothes", it has become "Then I just need to suggest things I want to wear". Q: When we talked with Men's Non-no readers, we often hear questions like "how to figure out a style that suits me". A: I also often change my style, so it's not something exaggerated like "I've settled with this style!". However, depending on your mood, it's important to have the ability to identify "what fits me at that time". That's why I don't really follow trends (laughs). Q: Is there any particular clothes that you want to wear especially in this summer? A: White T-shirt! That Off-White T-shirt that I wore today felt really good, so I said that during fitting time, "This one, I want to wear something like this!". It has this relaxing feel, and I also like the smooth texture feel.
How to enjoy this summer
Q: For this year, maybe we cannot enjoy our summer as usual, but at least we hope that our readers can relax and enjoy fashion while reading Men's Non-no, so we arranged this photoshoot with the image of Takeru-san having a solo trip in your summer holiday. A: Actually, I often spend my holidays by myself. However I prefer to stay at home. When I have a long holiday and decide to go on a trip, usually I go with my friends, but in the usual holidays, I often spend my time in my room, just doing nothing. It's not like I want a special time to think about something, because we can always do something like that in our bath time or before we sleep. Sometimes it depends at the moment, but usually I spend my time by relaxing.
Sato Takeru and Relax
Q: At this moment where the quarantine period has ended and the world has begun to move again, do you feel any change within yourself? A: Umm, because I'm not the type of a workaholic person, so to be honest, during this quarantine period, there was nothing out or ordinary for me. In my early or mid 20s, I've already experienced something like this. Of course, it's still different because you can't go outside at all. That's why I don't feel any specific changes in me, just spending my daily life as usual. Q: So you don't have any specific things that you want to do the moment when the quarantine is over? A: That's right. Looking at people around me, there are people who wants to go out ASAP, but there are also people who thinks that it's unexpectedly good to have our worklife changed because of the situation. I think they have various reasons on why they think about their decisions, and as for me, I don't feel like it was a few months of not being able to do things I want to do. I find things I can enjoy, and just spend my days without any specific preparation. However if I think about summer holiday, I do want to explore countryside and eat delicious food! Also I've been saying this each year, but I want to go to a summer festival. I think I haven't been to a festival since I enter this entertainment world. Maybe it's cliché, I just want to wear yukata with uchiwa in my hand, and looking at fireworks while eating yakisoba. It's still my unfulfilled wish until now... when I think about that day, it doesn't sound bad. Q: We feel that you value your own pace at all times, so in what moment do you feel you can relax and be free? A: Actually, it's hard for me to sleep early at night, because there are so many things to do. But sometimes when you have to start early at the next day, you have to sleep early, right? So for me, I think it's the moment where I don't have any work to do at the next day, and you can just enjoy your night without worrying about the time. When you can just go to sleep if you're sleepy, and you can just wake up anytime you like, that will be the best, such as just doing all the things you like all night. But I'm not the type of person who feels that my afternoon and night are reversed. It's more like I have a different rhythm compared to the others. For normal people, 1 day is 24 hours, but I feel like mine is only 19 hours. That's why sometimes our lifecycle will overlap. Like for the preparation for photoshoot today, I forced myself to sleep! (laughs).
I don't want to lose the feeling to enjoy
Q: The movie "Rurouni Kenshin" becomes something to look forward in the next year, so what will be your activities in this year? A: Well~ Many things have been postponed this year, so I don't really have something that viewers can enjoy... Right, for this year, I'll just appear only in Youtube! (laughs). Well, that sounds good too actually. Q: The photoshoot for this issue will be uploaded, so let's look forward to that one too. A: That's right. And I think I'm quite satisfied with today's photoshoot, I have a feeling that I won't do anything related to summer other than this one~ So with this, my summer for this year has ended. Q: But it's still June (photoshoot day) though (laughs). Finally, please give some message to Men's Non-no readers so that they can enjoy this summer at least with a better and positive feeling. A: I think your feelings of wanting to be stylish at this time is a very nice one. Your outfit can directly affect your mood, right? In the end, when you wear something that fits you nicely, it will directly make your mood better, but if at that day you don't feel confident with what you wear, I'm sure it will somehow worsen your mood too. What I'm trying to say is fashion is indeed important. During the hard times like this, if you feel depressed, how can I say it, don't you think just because of Covid [you can't enjoy things], it's such a waste. There are still lots of ways to enjoy life. By wearing outfits you like, I think it will be good if it can be a starting point to lighten up your feeling and thus increase your motivation.

About time, I guess?
Hi there! My name is Helga, and welcome to my humble blog~
Well, as you can see from the title, icon, and everything, this blog will solely talk about Sato Takeru (blush).
I usually spend my fangirling days on Twitter (maybe some of you recognize me from this blog url, and yes it’s the same person XD), randomly tweeting summaries, translations, or just random things mostly about Takeru. I have this habit of bookmarking my translations so I can review it later, and lately it has become kinda cluttered. Sadly, Twitter can’t provide some tools for organizing bookmarks. After looking around and talking with some friends, I decide to (finally) try Tumblr to have my things more organized.
So right now, my plan is to put all of my past works here, and will try to keep this blog updated with more works, although don’t expect me to regularly update it (laugh).
That’s it for now I think, yoroshiku onegaishimasu!
