margery is one of the oldest living vampires still walking the earth today. she was born margery wood in a very small village riddled with poverty. margery’s family was one of the lucky few who had a little money; her mother, ophelia, worked for the palace as a maid while her husband, jaime, was a soldier. her mother died in the process of childbirth and she was not even her mother’s child, but the daughter of a prince who’s heart her mother had stolen. the pair were forbidden lovers, the closest rivals to romeo and juliet. the noble had to hear about margery’s mother’s death through one of the queen’s ladies and he was heartbroken. he had not even known she had been with child. suspicion spread through the village very quickly when the prince had a breakdown witnessed by a fair amount of the court and the staff.

jamie knew that his wife was having an affair, but he had not known with who. all he knew is that when he came home, the woman he loved was just beginning to show and he had been deployed for a year. despite this, he loved her just the same until her death. she was the love of his life, what else was he supposed to do? he did not treat margery with the same affection, however, because he knew she wasn’t his own.

the first few years of margery’s life were quiet enjoyable. despite her father’s ignorance, she found happiness in the books jaime kept and playing with the other children. the prince often watched over his daughter, for there was no one else who knew she was his.

as if the secret of her parenthood wasn’t enough, there was something else that little margery did not know. the royal family had been keeping this secret for ages, but they came from a long line of pureblooded vampires. this made margery one too. she was aware of her fascination about human blood, but had the strength to bury her questions about it’s taste and it’s texture and fed on animals away from the eyes of other villagers. she became unable to control it, however, when she turned thirteen. she drained jamie completely, overwhelmed by the new taste and what it was doing to her. when the royal family got word of this, the young prince alexander finally came clean to the king and queen, who immediately realized what the young girl had done. in fear that their secret would be exposed, they covered up jamie’s death and took the little girl in as their own.

it was a culture shock, suddenly growing up in nobility. the young girl had people waiting on her hand and foot and she got everything she asked for. she finally got to be close to her father and both she and alexander relished in it. when she stopped aging, however, she knew she had to leave the palace and start her life over. the rest of the royal family did as well. each went their separate ways.

margery spent the next couple of centuries traveling throughout europe and working many odd jobs, starting her life over every time. she never stopped, she always had to look to the next life and erase everything from the one before. it wasn’t until she met a poor bookeeper that she realized what a lonely life this was. he fell in love with her from the second he met her, as did she. despite holding back her feelings for him, dams always break eventually. they eventually married and made a life for themselves. it was almost as if margery forgot her curse - she would never grow old with her new husband. she felt so selfish, taking that chance away from him. that’s why, fueled by the hope his love for her was blind enough, she told him her story. without hesitation, his first action he asked her to turn her. she protested, but he insisted. so, after weeks of waring her down, she did.

the weeks after were the happiest of the young couple’s lives. it was almost to good to be true. they kept moving and margery showed her husband her favorite places in the world. they spent a century together until one day, they were caught by a group of hunters. in an effort to save his beloved, her husband told her to run. she thought he was dead and in grief, turned into one of the largest rippers that supernatural history had ever seen. she wanted the innocent people she hurt to feel exactly like she did, heartbroken, pained and alone.

it wasn’t until she met someone who changed her outlook forever. this person quickly became her best friend and helped her understand that having emotions can be a good thing. the two of them took positions at monster university and started what felt like the tenth new life.

ex-husband: despite overcoming her grief, marg misses him every single day. she turned him and has been tracking her and her kills. when she stopped, he lost her. he recently took a position without knowing she teaches at the university too.

the best friend: another older vampire who’s seen a lot of shit. inspired by lexi and stefan from the vampire diaries. this person took her out of her ripper phase and brought her back to her true self.
