Today marks 2 years, 6 months since I began my journey to get healthy. I have shared many progress pics and often include that while my appearance has changed, my heart and soul have not. While working out this morning, I thought about that statement and realized that is not true in its entirety. My heart has changed. The girl on the left, did NOT love herself. I've learned to love myself again, my self confidence is at an all time high and I've learned to stop sacrificing my own happiness to please someone else. Two year post-op appointment with my dietician and surgeon today. I've become obsessed with the scale, which is now hiding somewhere (thank you, Doug), and again both reminded me the number is not important. I am still losing and have not gained a single pound. With tears in her eyes, she reminded me of where I started and where I am now. "Your BMI was 77.4 and it is now 40.1". Two years ago today I made a life changing decision and took control of my health. I am blown away by what I've accomplished. I cannot think of a time in my life where I've felt this good. Last week, the scale told me I've lost 215 pounds. I've gone from wearing a size 4X shirt to a Large. I've dropped 7 pants sizes. While losing, I've gained so much! I no longer feel limited. Taking control of my health and putting myself first, was THE best decision. I encourage you do the same. Trust me when I say, you can do this too!
