baitulmaal - provides a variety of necessities, including food, water, shelter, and medical supplies

hygiene kits for gaza - provides hygiene supplies including menstrual products, wipes, and toothbrushes/toothpaste

Occasionally I think we suffer too much from wanting to inject a normal perspective into star wars. Obviously the clones should not have an everyman normal perspective on the jedi, they are some of the least normal people alive. Obviously the jedi are not a normal perspective either, they grew up in a monastery and have cosmic forces pouring through their heads. The natborn officers are all handpicked fascists so they aren't normal either. Not one single being on any of those warships is ever normal.

Listen, if a traditional mandalorian found themself on melida-daan as per fanfic tradition, they wouldn't be normal about it. They'd see a bunch elementary kids doing warfare and think that's the coolest shit. They'd teach them how to fire a rocket launcher with their tiny bony arms and when a bunch of them die on the raid they coached them on they'd tell the other seven year olds it 'twas an honorable death.

TikTok has convinced so many people that you're autistic or ADHD if you have completely typical experiences like "getting songs stuck in your head" or "having a strong sense of social justice" or "reverently kissing the ice-cold crown of the crow lord". No, you do not need to have autism to squeeze your eyes shut and stand completely still as a living statue to demonstrate your total submission to the crow lord. Plenty of neurotypical people bring him tributes of glass beads, tinfoil strips, roadkill, coins from dead men's pockets, and mice or rabbits fattened weeks in advance. Honestly TikTok has become such a dangerous engine for spreading misinformation. I wouldn't be surprised if they provoke the wrath of the crow lord soon.

Shmi in tpm always has dignity, and her agency is emphasized, it's noteworthy. She's still not a main character- she's a role and a messenger more than a person in some ways- but her words and her choices are given respect by both the narrative and the main characters. She conveys several of the central themes and messages of the movies- and the entire series, bookending Vader's eventual choice. When Anakin wants to race, she is the one one who's permission he needs. She and Qui Gon speak quite extensively about Anakin going to the temple, and it's only with her permission that he asks Anakin, and then it's only with her encouragement that agrees. She's constricted by the harshest of circumstances, but her choices are some of the most important of the movie.

And she has this dignity about her.
