(okie dokie! I have a lot of replies to get to, and this is a gentle forewarning that I am going to be slowly plodding through them and trying to respond to everything. I'll be ensuring I note on each and every one that I understand completely if you're not interested in continuing things; I am late! You're not obligated to still be interested, promise.

That said I would also very much like to start some new things as well, so- like or drop me a line if you would enjoy some newer threads, and feel free to let me know if you'd actually prefer to drop old stuff! )

Maybe yours are nicer but I think it's just that the Dream Eaters I meet are frustrated with me, is all. They never seem to intend harm even when they look eerie. Although, the same red glow happened when I dreamed of Vanitas once.

"Do you know why they're frustrated at you? There's gotta be a reason for it, right?"

"I mean... Dream Eaters are pretty good at finding out things we might not want them to. Maybe they're mad that you're not being true to yourself."

If there was one undeniable truth that even Sora could recognize about himself and Ventus, it was their strikingly similar glares—piercing and intense, they often seemed to collide like the contrasting forces of Light and Darkness that defined their very existence. Yet, even amid their frequent clashes, both boys sometimes were weary of the ongoing bumpy partnership. During these rare moments of respite, they discovered common ground, and Valentine's Day stood out as one of those unique occasions. With a playful glint in his eyes, Sora lobbed a heart-shaped chocolate at Ventus, the mischievous smirk on his face betraying the lighthearted nature of his challenge. "Here," he quipped, his voice dripping with sarcasm, "Have a heart." The sweet gesture, filled with Sora's trademark humor, perfectly blended camaraderie and jest.

Maybe it was unreasonable that he hadn't left yet, considering. But amidst the glares and general dichotomy of their beliefs, there was still something to be found, there. A bond that couldn't be broken- or so Ventus believed. Hoped.

Days like today were important reminders of that bond. That regardless of what Sora is, regardless of who he might become... he's still Sora. Playful, dorky Sora.

His second chance.

"Mm... that's not quite right." Sorry, little chocolate, but he's going to have to play at being Xehanort, for a moment. There's a sharp crack, between his fingers, before Sora will find half of that chocolate being tossed right back.

"Pretty sure my Heart looks more like this." Although... if it was more accurate...

He wouldn't have the other half, either. But Vanitas isn't here, and he likes chocolate.

So he'll have to forsake any accuracy in favour of relishing the way it melts on his tongue, instead.

For some reason, I get dreams about Dream Eaters once in a while. They never seem to have any definitive shape but they always give off friendly vibes until I see their eyes. They have the unsettling red eyes of Nightmares despite not being nightmarish.

"Y'know, I've had dreams about Dream Eaters too! Though, I guess mine were a little nicer than yours?"

"Sora introduced me to them. They were pretty excited about it. It's weird, but I always felt like... I'd met them before?"

Okay so it's been a hot minute.

I'm terribly sorry for the long, long silence on my end! I am going to continue being silent for a few more weeks before I'll be ready to crawl back into things-- though I promise, I am doing much better!

When I get back I'll be prioritizing getting replies out to ongoing things first and foremost; I will absolutely not take it personally if you don't want to continue them!

Hey! Thanks for your patience while I'm being a bit slow! I'll be trying to catch up a bit in the next few days and tossing up offers to get some more starters on the way, too. So many mutuals, so little time!

Uh, tw: explosions. And attempted murder, I guess.

Someone asked me why I got back into rp and I responded "well the building I was in got blown up". So anyway, the joke was that it wasn't a joke.

It just didn't get blown up as much as was perhaps initially intended. I also wasn't part of the group of people the perp was trying to kill- he just...didn't necessarily care that a bunch of innocents were there.

I was unfortunately pretty close to the blast when it went off. I'm physically fine, as is everyone else who was there. No one was seriously injured. It's just meant things have been messy thanks to...being right there, lol. Add the whole #trauma thing to the whole deal and I've admittedly had some stuff to deal with.

The situation at the moment gets quiet for a few weeks and then picks back up, so I can't even really say when it'll be over. Knowing the legal system, maybe I'll be lucky enough to see the end of it in like... two years.

So, please bear with me. Some days are better than others. There's a whole lot more good days than bad, but I'm still taking life a day at a time right now. This blog is genuinely a place I intend to keep fun and light-hearted, but if I go quiet for a few days, this is undoubtedly part of the reason why.

Ventus swallows, squeezing that hand tightly. A little affirmation against all the things he worries about- that he's just like this because he's Light, he's just like this because he was forced to be-

It's nice. It's really nice to hear that someone believes him when he says he chose this. That despite everything, he looked at his past and chose what he'd become going forward.
