Repost of some of my old headcanons for the Jackal, but some of these are really just rambling about things I thought were interesting. Be aware! 😂

The Jackal Headcanons:

Ryan was 44 years old when he died on October 11th, 1931. This is the same date that an asylum caught fire in Dark Castle’s earlier movie called House on Haunted Hill. Ryan’s backstory actually borrowed a clip from it, so it’s possible they could be related in some ways.

A few of the other Black Zodiac ghosts were rumoured to have been based off real people. Born just a year before London’s infamous Jack the Ripper murders, Ryan obviously would not be the Ripper himself, but he had some close similarities.

On the above note, I believe Ryan had four notable victims. I think I counted four women who showed up in his backstory clip.

I know the usual idea is that the Jackal was British. This could be because of his similarities with Jack the Ripper, or because Borehamwood (as in the asylum) is a town in England. However, Ryan was believed to have a single line in the movie: “Leave me alone!” and that voice did not have an unusual accent—rather, it sounded North American (his actor is Canadian).

Dennis called the Jackal the “Charles Manson of the ghosts,” and that can’t be just because he’s scary. I don’t know much about Manson, but I do know that we was a cultist. In Ryan’s lifetime, he must’ve had a major role in the organization of a group—either a gang on the streets, or made up of asylum patients preparing to break out. Either way, the Jackal is a natural leader and could boss most of the other ghosts around if he wanted to.

Yes! I do! I have a whole slew of OCs, but I know you mean for Thi13en Ghosts, so here she is! It’s my first time trying to give an appearance to her, so…consider her subject to some evolution. Hehe!

Her name is Grace Dubois, also known as “the Darkness.”

Darkness is an entity made up of rot, which consumed all the lives taken inside the walls of Borehamwood Asylum. (If you’re familiar with House on Haunted Hill, you may recognize this concept! She’s a crossover character.) Grace is but one of hundreds whose spirits were pulled into Darkness’ mass—even, the first?

In life, Grace was not a good person—hence ending up in an asylum for the criminally insane. She was beautiful and also headstrong, which caught the attention of a certain Ryan Kuhn. They clashed bitterly, but soon became involved romantically. Neither were in a good headspace nor moral standing, so it was mostly very toxic.

Ryan had a whole “cult” going on behind the backs of the doctors, planning an escape with the other inmates. After Ryan was banished to a basement cell for—rumour has it—biting a nurse’s throat out, Grace was still blamed for the disappearance of their leader. For once, things didn’t go her way.

The inmates turned on Grace, sealing her in a long-condemned cell where no one knew to find her. The air was thick with the smell of black mould, which invaded her lungs, followed by the rest of her. She was dead by the time hell broke loose and the fire consumed what was left of the physical world, but alive in the spiritual world to corrupt the souls before they could depart.

I really tried, but the Jackal took off after the postman and the Juggernaut crushed my phone playing Candy Crush, got mad and threw it at the fridge. By the time I picked up all the shards and glued them back together, they were gone. 😖
