imagine being ethos lab at your stupid ass fucking desk stupid fucking mouse pad from a defunct 90s tech store rotting from the inside out stupid kleenex box stupid sideways mouse bitch in the goddamn canadian wilderness on your dead decrepit amish farmland nobody around for miles except the occasional car crash lights all off monitor at 30 brightness illuminating your face opening a screenshot of your wild life episode one recording in ms paint and very carefully zooming in and cropping it to perfectly centre frame the minecraft avatar of the man you have been in a back and forth gay ass faux relationship for a decade the man who has said before he would read fanfiction of you both romantically the man who has called you his boyfriend so that everyone can see he is the focus HE is the focal point of the episode he is the call he is the main attraction and btw this matches his thumbnail perfectly did you even know that? did you see his thumbnail because you see all his videos and choose to mirror it purposefully or are you so linked in all you do it just happened . saving that image uploading it to youtube (WHICH YOU NEVER DO) and hitting publish and then just leaving your desk and going to bed alone like it means nothing and if you close your eyes the monitor burn into the back of your retina shows you his ghost

my thoughts on this are that if one (former) hermit has let us and his community down majorly, the rest of the hermits have done themselves proud in their response. they were accessible for the victims to reach out to with their complaints. they then sought to verify them, and once they had, they directly addressed the situation in a swift and efficient manner. their statement allowed for the victims to offer their perspectives with their own voices, on their own terms, whilst preemptively warning us that they would be coming, and they had been confirmed and acted upon.

this has been dealt with extremely professionally, with care to protect the victims, and with clear decisiveness (especially from a server that is so famously indecisive, it required a coup to start its second season). this was not dragged out. allegations were not dragged through the mud and victims ripped apart by the jury of the internet. the hermits brought us a situation already resolved and within one day, we are already in the aftermath

do you wanna try your luck at the wild life session 5 trivia questions?

well now you can! i gathered all the questions we came up with into a pair of google forms so that you guys can try your hand at the same trivia questions the CCs did!

we tried to have a good amount of questions for every player and season. we also tried to include only questions we thought at least one person would remember the answer to, especially things we'd seen them bring up recently in their own videos or streams, or big moments that would appear in fanart/animatics that we thought they'd be more likely to remember from seeing in those. we also aimed to include silly questions/answers, or questions/answers we thought people would find entertaining. we wanted players to be able to go to each other and ask each other for help on questions they didnt know the answer to!

rejected questions

the rejected questions didn't make it due to either being too difficult/niche or being something we did not think any creators would remember, being about a player we already had too many questions for in order to make room for questions about other players, being "stat" or number questions (i.e., "how many times did X die of Y cause?"), having too many names involved in the question or answer (making it hard for players to know who to ask for help), the questions just being wordy, or not being particularly entertaining. fair warning, the rejected questions also were not all fact checked as well as the actual episode questions were, as they didn't go into the actual session

originally our questions were a bit more difficult (we had a lot of questions we didn't necessarily think anyone would remember the answer to), but we were asked to tone it down and have mercy after the unexpectedly high amount of snail carnage (hence why the forms are jokingly names "easy version" and "hard version")

anyway, huge thanks to the rest of the trivia team, @cherrifire, @xmaruu11, @hopepetal, @applestruda, @ink-ghoul, and @cocoabats !!! working with all of you was super fun! and thanks so much to Grian for trusting us with this! this whole thing was a super cool experience and i'm thrilled with how much everyone likes the questions!

Hello hello! I've returned from my trip, spent the whole time sick with covid :,cc. It was a relatively mild case but I'm extremely tired now, like can't stay awake for more than a few hours at a time tired. Hopefully it's not long covid or anything, I've heard it can take 2 or 3 weeks for the fatigue to go away sometimes, but it makes me worried '~'

So basically I'm not sure when the next chapter will come. But I can't even think about staying awake long enough to write right now. Sucks but it is what it is I guess
