Saw this post on X and it got me thinking...

Why does Jax keep looking at his hand...? When Pomni hugged him and he pushed her away, he couldn't stop staring at his hand...I mean, that can kind of be explained due to him having to physically push her away? Since, he only really harms ppl with words or objects...

However, here when he's in front of Kaufmo and Ribbit's rooms...he looks at his hand before looking at their doors.

I don't know, maybe I'm reaching? Lol. I just really loved this episode and every little detail is huge to me. What do y'all think?

In other news why was everyone actually bugging this episode dude the angst was peak!!! That talk with Kinger and Ragatha was so wholesome and cute I love them.

Same with Gangle and Zoobles talk. They just get eachother and they make me insane <3

And don't even get me started on Jax and Pomnis fight. I was floored bro the execution was incredible I love this show

YALL ALREADY KNOW- I NEED TO TALK ABOUT EPISODE 6 OF TADC. RN. AT THIS VERY SECOND.

OMG. So, I'm not gonna go in order, I'm just going to start rambling about different things I noticed / thoroughly enjoyed ( which is a lot ) throughout the episode. Then give my thoughts / review. ( it's all positive. what can I say- ).

ALRIGHT. SO- Right off the bat, as a Jax stan, I was obviously both nervous and super hyped for this episode, since he's my favorite character. He is so complex ( much like everyone else trapped in the circus...bc they're, you know, human? ) and I just really like watching how he not only "copes" with everything around him, but I also like how he talks about the circus at the beginning.

Jax has been in the circus longer than Pomni, so overtime he's basically just decided 1) this place isn't real, so therefore nothing we do has lasting consequences ( for the most part, minus abstracting ofc, but I'll get into that can of worms later on... ) 2) being "good" and "nice" all of the time, isn't fun nor does it get you anywhere. Which is where his problems with Ragatha stem from. She's too nice to him, so he takes that as her being disingenuous. "Trying too hard". BUT- you could also argue that he's ALSO doing the same thing. He basically does the exact same thing as Ragatha - two sides of the same coin, just one wants to be nice to everyone, the other wants to be mean and watch everyone around him fall apart. He gets "joy" from that. He doesn't take the circus, or Caine seriously. Which has obviously been shown numerous times before this.

It's interesting to me just how Jax refers to himself as the "funny" one. Pomni is obviously confused by that, but she doesn't question it right then. She just goes along with it because she thinks she and Jax are actually bonding and becoming closer.

WHICH- as a funnybunny shipper...this episode KILLED ME. OML. let me be SO for real about that-

Anyways, back to things that made me happy! *sobs*

Pomni choosing to be evil deliberately just to please Jax ( in a way ) also made me giggle a little bit. But then their fight happened and I just... *dies*

But she was so cute here. Trying to be evil and stuff. So precious.

ANYWAYS- let's leave Pomni and Jax for now, and come back to them- I NEED TO TALK ABOUT MY FAVORITE FATHER-DAUGHTER DUO. TEAM PEW PEW.

I noticed A LOT in this scene, so just...let me ramble PLEASE-

First off, speaking generally here, I really enjoyed their talk. Kinger obviously thinks better in the dark, as was seen in Episode 3. ( I also like how they brought back that he is an INCREDIBLE SHOT when it comes to shooting lol ). The two have such a sweet relationship and I nearly cried :)

Ragatha thinking she failed Pomni ( JUST LIKE SHE FAILED JAX- HELP ME ) was not only heartbreaking to listen to, but hearing her reason was so...*inhales*

"I try too hard to get on their good side, and then I just end up pushing them away." is honestly so real. I relate to her so much on this, because at times, especially with new people, I feel as though I do the same thing. I love this show so much because the characters and their issues feel genuine and real. Because, THEY ARE HUMAN. They are all complex and I enjoy shows that explore this without it feeling forced. Ragatha's need to make everyone feel happy and for everyone to like her is honestly so heartbreaking, because she thinks everyone actually hates her. Which, I also caught that her, Gangle AND Zooble's main insecurities all stem from Jax and his constant torment. I don't think it's subtle, but either way it's so fucking tragic.

I obviously can't go into every single detail because we'd be here for hours, but one last thing I really liked in this scene specially was the setting they were in. The "Loser" area is in a room with a giant fish tank, which to me kind of looks like symbolism. Especially when Kinger is speaking, the camera pans to the fish inside of the tank - kind of mirroring their predicament. They're "like fish in a barrel" ( lol like my TGWDLM reference hehe ). They're stuck. Just like the fish.

The fish also represent them in the sense of relationships and how "people handle things differently" like Kinger says. Which obviously mirrors Jax and how he definitely handles things differently in terms of grief and relationships with others in general, it can also be said for literally the entire rest of the cast.

Obviously, this whole scene was just so sweet, and definitely a talk Ragatha needed to have. She does put so much pressure on herself. She's a diva and at the end of the day, she needs to put herself first! :D

ALSO- before I move on to the other dynamic duo, I'd like to point out this, what Ragatha says here:

I obviously don't think she's tricking anyone into liking or anything like that, but I just find her choice of words...interesting...

ANYWAYS-

GANGLE & ZOOBLE!! The iconic duo fr.

Again, with their conversation, I find it interesting that it stems around JAX. Which, is obvious because it's an episode Jax-centric, but it's a real unique approach to character-centric episodes. In other pieces of media, we see the character get more screen time to convey their actual feelings and thought process, however TADC has the characters around them also focus heavily on said character and I really like that. It shows just how much Jax's torment affects everyone else ( if the other episodes didn't do it enough already ). Gangle, even though she really shouldn't, still cares somewhat about Jax's feeling because she's been around him long enough to know how he operates. Which has clearly taken its toll on her. Jax's way of coping is tormenting everyone else around him, and he's obviously either 1) not self aware enough to truly see how he's hurting everyone else, or 2) he is self aware and doesn't care...which I am leaning more towards.

Zooble and Gangle's dynamic has always been one of my favorites. It was clear by the end of episode 4 that they care deeply about one another and it's sweet to see their dynamic grow stronger in each episode. Their talk was so sweet here, just like Ragatha and Kinger's!

One final thing I caught here was the way Zooble is standing in front of the light: Like they are Gangle's source of light in such a dark place and I really love that- AHH OMG THIS SHOW-

They deserve all of the happiness. No notes.

Sigh...it is time.

Yes. It is time to discuss...that scene. Time to swing on back around to Jax and Pomni...sighhhh

OKAY. Jax's crash out was probably my favorite scene and not because I enjoy when my favorite shitty complex character is being mentally tormented by the weight of his issues or anything, BUT because...well yeah, actually. This scene, where he was trying SO hard to mask his actual feelings was SO fucking difficult to watch. It's clear he's hurting. Just based on the fact that even before all of this, when Pomni ran off to go after Zooble, and Jax got a chance to look at Kaufmo AND Ribbit's door...it probably "woke him back up" in a way. He realized how close he and Pomni were getting and the fact that he actually enjoys being around her; which is something he can't have. He can't get close to people because then it'll hurt even worse when they do eventually go. WHICH AGAIN- is something I also relate to. I really find myself relating to Jax and Ragatha's character-struggles so much. I have found myself pushing others away due to my own fear of abandonment. I know, weird lore drop, BUT it's important-

Anyways, AGAIN- I like shows like this because Jax's feelings 1) don't feel forced at all. His crash out comes naturally. 2) The show isn't holding your hand and having to "baby you". Anyone who watches it can fully grasp Jax's struggles even without him having to outright say it. You can see it written all over his face. He does care. He cares, which scares him. TLDR : Pomni clocked his tea.

The voice acting in this episode was FUCKING PHENOMENAL. As always, but just something about the way Lizzie says, "What would you do if I abstracted tomorrow?" and Micheal's delivery on, "I'd move on." was so fucking cold. And it only proves the point that Jax can't and won't get close to anyone further.

On top of that, it's just so fucking tragic. He's obviously being a dick on purpose, yes. Does that justify anything bad he's ever done, hell no. And, I'd never try to do so just because Jax is my favorite...but it does make him Human. ( Not throwing Ragatha in the deep fryer, or shooting her point blank...obviously ) but him distancing himself and pushing everyone else away is Human nature. It's also amazing characterization. Gooseworx truly knows how to write characters and it only makes me love this show ten times more than I already did.

For me, it only made his panic-attack and NEAR-abstraction so much more heartbreaking. Not just because he was so close to abstracting, but because he knows that nobody would be there if he did. Nobody in that circus cares in the slightest for him, besides Pomni. Because even Jax hates himself.

And, yes, before you ask, I did indeed tear up when I witnessed my Shayla in shambles. He's a menace, but he's my menace...y'know... :(

I also haven't talked about Caine at all due to my thoughts all pretty much being the same as last episode regarding him and HIS state. Bro is going THROUGH it.

All in all. This episode was AMAZING. Great character development, revelations and the animation is just MUAH! It literally gets better every episode <3

I probably left out so much more! Sorry, my brain is running rapid with thoughts about this episode and I can't fit every little thing in a Tumblr post! Lol.

NEW HELLUVA SHORT ( small ) REVIEW:

I really loved this short! I definitely enjoyed it more than the last short ( not saying the last one was bad or anything, it was sweet ). I really enjoyed Moxxie and Blitz's dynamic in this one! I feel they really showcased it well, especially at the end when it ended with the two critiquing the guy's driving. Perfect ending imo. There were so many funny moments in this short!

The visual gags made me giggle and it was just all around a good time! I liked it a lot! 10/10 for me. LMK what you all think about it! I'd love to hear your thoughts!!! <3
