Remember kids, the government will test out their bullshit on minor citizens and if thatâs successful theyâll move on to adult citizens.
That anti-abortion trafficking law that says if you bring a minor out-of-state for an abortion without parental permission? If successful, theyâll try it on adults next.
The âKids Online Safety Act?â If successful, theyâll monitor and censor content for adults, too.
The anti-trans healthcare for children Supreme Court case thatâs going on right now? Same deal. If they can get it so they can deny trans kids care, that opens the door to prevent trans healthcare for adults, too.
And if you support any of these for any reason, you support censorship and the state controlling aspects of your life. Protect kidsâ rights because if they can successfully take legislate away the ability for a minor to travel for healthcare, their ability to use the internet, and their ability to get gender affirming care, they will come for your ability next.

Sometimes I see people from countries with public healthcare systems post videos that are like âThis is the reality of socialized medicine. I had to wait in the ER with my sick baby for 4 hours.â âI had to wait 8 months to see a specialist. Thatâs egregious.â or âThey didnât have a bed for my loved one in mental health treatment.â and itâs like. Come to America babygirl. You can experience all of this and have your insurance deny it and pay thousands and thousands of dollars for it. Like I know healthcare systems in countries with public health can be bad but when I see someone imply theyâre bad because the healthcare is universal, I want to jump through the screen and put my elbow on their throat. âThe NHS is deeply flawed, therefore we should abolish it and go back to private healthcare. That will definitely make healthcare in this country better!â I am going to Kill You.

While cleaning out my room I found a paper that my therapist gave me some time ago to deal with obsessive and intrusive thoughts. Sorry the paper is a little crinkled and stained, but I figured Iâd post it in hopes that it will help someone like it helped me.

WHY does the inner ear have a direct line to your stomach? What evolutionary advantage is there to throwing up when you're dizzy?

trans women do not only start to experience oppression or harassment when they start to present as women, and trans men do not stop experiencing oppression or harassment when they start to present as men. when you exist outside the status quo of the sex and gender binaries you experience these things constantly through your whole life, both before and after transitioning. the idea that trans women were "socialized male" and so grew up not experiencing sexism is bullshit. the idea that trans men have as much privilege as cis men and get to just stop experiencing sexism when they transition is also bullshit. both these statements are transphobic and are meant to diminish our experiences

Doctor, suggesting a replacement because it looks like insurance wonât cover seeing them âI referred many patients to XYZ and never heard from them again.â
Me, stunned âI donât think thatâs the endorsement you think it is. You know how many awful fairy tales have the line âand they were never heard from againâ in them, right?â
Doctor, trying not to lose Professional Voice and failing âHa hahaha *cough* I didnât mean it like that. You have such a great sense of humor! Ha ha ha ha.â
Me, patiently âDid you ever see or hear from any of these people after referring them? As opposed to other places? A âThank Youâ or a request for files or need for a consult or asking you to fill in while the new one is on vacation or anything at all?â
Doctor âNo. Wait, let me think. No.â
Me âIs that normal?â
Doctor âNo.â
Me âCan you see my concern?â
Doctor, sounding quiet âYes, Iâm sure theyâre fine, but now that you asked, Iâll check my records for other care providers.â
Me âFairy tales are cautionary tales. Iâm concerned for the patients you referred to this other Doctor. Their chances seem grim.â
Doctor, not laughing âI understand.â
Me âIf you canât find anyone youâve referred, you might want to check nearby ditches.â
Doctor makes choking noise âI want to laugh at that, but youâve got me worried.â
Me âYeah, well.â
(Silence)
Doctor âIâm going to check on a few people I referred to them.â
Me âYep.â
â two weeks later â
Doctor âI wonât be referring anyone to that provider again.â

part of the reason America still doesnât have universal healthcare is that a large portion of the healthy population consciously or subconsciously believes that being sick is somehow a moral failing. someone randomly has a heart attack at age 30 and there are people like âwell, you should have eaten better, exercised more and drank lessâ like a medical emergency is proof you were living a life of sloth and sin and it could never happen to them. ïżŒ
