if you have trouble reading the original post, it says,
“to my boycott queens: don’t watch ‘Nobody Wants This’ on Netflix. it’s hyped on TikTok, but I did my research first. it’s a romcom about a girl falling in love with a cute, funny rabbi, portraying Jews as nice, loving people. what timing, right? the producer, Erin Foster, is a proud Zionist who supports genocide and plays a part in the brainwashing culture. Please divest from this Hollywood culture and don’t be a part of it. They always try to dehumanize Muslims and sugarcoat everything that’s white.”
I haven’t seen the show, but as far as I know, it has nothing whatsoever to do with Israel. some of the characters and actors playing them are Jewish, that’s it. saying Erin Foster “supports genocide” because she condemned a massacre is detached from anything resembling reality, but that’s par for the course. far more interesting and troubling here is the complete and unvarnished dehumanization of Jews and anything involving Judaism, including any representation and any stories portraying Jewish people as…people.

I know this is totally useless clown behavior, but there’s an aspect in the brutal symbolism that still is quite disturbing - they stole statues, announced they were holding them hostage, and now are reveling in beheading them. it’s blatant exalting of terror tactics. it’s what they’d prefer to see happen to actual humans being held hostage. how thin is the line between doing this and deciding to take their rage out on living, breathing people (particularly Jews)?

You know, when Trump won in 2016, I was terrified, but I also felt like no matter how bad the government got, I would be safe and supported and welcomed by the broad coalition of left-leaning anti-Trump organizations and groups: feminist groups, queer community spaces, immigrant rights groups, abortion funds, environmental advocates, gun control advocates, etc. I thought the people in the loose alliance of leftists, liberals, and moderates who were outraged by Trump’s administration and the actions of Republicans were my allies and would stand up for me as a member of a vulnerable minority.
I don’t feel that way anymore. I’ve spent the past year watching leftists and “progressives” cheer on Islamist groups who call for the death of my people. I’ve watched groups who focused on specific issues of domestic policy completely unrelated to foreign wars embrace Palestine as an omnicause, forcing antizionism into spaces that have nothing to do with Israel and making them progressively more hostile to Jews.
This time, I feel very, very alone. Jews are 2% of the American population, and we can’t trust our government, our neighbors, or progressive organizations and movements to keep us safe—or even just not advocate for our deaths. We only have each other, and with Hashem’s help, we will keep each other safe and keep our communities and institutions and traditions alive until better times come along. Kol Yisrael aravim zeh ba’zeh.
Anyway, if anything I’ve said resonates with you at all, please consider donating to The Red Tent Fund, a new Jewish abortion support organization founded by a Jewish woman who was pushed out of the abortion fund she previously worked for when the organization started pushing antisemitic propaganda and refused to acknowledge sexual violence against Israeli women.

I would say I think Ill get a lot of hate for this but we all know Jewish bloggers get like 15 notes so—
You know who else's fault Trumps election is?*
You—
The "leftist" who went so far off the deep end
Burning US flags, vandalizing Jewish spaces, supporting terrorists such as Hezbollah, ISIS, Hamas, the Houthis etc.
Acting as if the US was and is the singular most evil —after Israel of course— in the world.
Demanding and expecting that Palestine be the sole cause anyone cares about, as if no other cause is valid or worthy anymore, as long as a war thousands of miles away continues to rage.
You are at fault.
Because of your insanity and hatred you've pushed the right that much more. You've shown that lots of organizing on the left is a farce and won't accomplish much, giving moderates a reason to vote for the crazy they know and have survived before.
*even if you voted for Harris! and especially if you didn't.

you lost your claim to humanity the moment you became a coloniser
So... when I was 5 months old?
When my parents abandoned everything they ever owned in order to bring me to Israel to save my life from the antisemitic abuse that almost killed me as a baby in Communist Romania?
I lost my humanity before I could speak, that's what you're saying? Due to a decision I didn't make? A life saving decision? What exactly would you suggest my parents were meant to do, leave me to die due to antisemitism in Romania?
Which one of us actually lost their humanity here, oh person who doesn't even dare send this hateful message under their username, for others to see what kind of hatred you're capable of spewing?

I will never forget the car ride where my dad was trying to convert me back to Catholicism, after I'd told him that I was actively pursuing Judaism.
He was waving one hand, when he professed- "Joy! You have to look for the signs from G-d! From the universe! Everything pulling you back in- back home!"
Then, the car rattled, crapped out, and rolled to a stop on the curb. Literally right outside was a synagogue with a huge Magen David stain glass window.
We were stuck there for an awkward two hours
