I'm going to be entering Occidental College as a freshman this year, so I made a new blog to indicate a new chapter in my life. Throughout the next four years, I hope to fulfill my goal of becoming an amateur boxer and represent K-Town Boxing Club in future bouts, make new close friends, and have the best times of my life!

Watched this movie today with friends. I didn't really remember much or get much of it the first time I watched it (I was around middle school?).
Always fun to kick it with friends on weekdays.

Mid-Week Reflection
Reading: It's been a tale of two cities (I never read the book. so I'm basing this solely on the title). I've been really solid with this. It's been chill b/c it's more positive than negative. It's easier to do than not do. I wonder if everyone's like that.
No laptop/phone: Like I said, two cities. I'm 0/2. I wonder what I can do for this? I'll have to institute a password?

Mid-Week Reflection
Right now, I'm only doing good with Anki first thing in the morning. I'll have to cross that one off and focus on the others. I'm thinking it'll have to be 100% digital minimalism related. So yea.
Sleep only with my laptop/phone: I'll have to get used to playing the same video essays or using a podcast. So make sure at a certain point, I either sleep with music (with a timer) OR I play a video essay to lull me to sleep. I think that needs to be the big focus. I'll put the steps on that. That'll make sure I have to check off each step for the goal?
And I think the other one needs to be no daisy laptop/phone. Just those two. Let's focus on that habit. And let's keep it for two months? I think those are the two keystone habits I'll need to focus on. The others are meh.
So the habits have gotten too numerous. Let's simplify it and see how that goes!
Also, with tuesday reflection, we should be good!

Mid-Week Reflection
I had a pretty down day yesterday. It makes it feel like I've always felt that way—despite me having one of the best stretches I've ever had. That sucks. I really don't like feeling this way :( Well, it's time to see how I did up to the halfway point.
Digital Minimalism 100%: I did really good for that first day. But I did terrible yesterday. The hard thing is that once I have a bad day, I feel frazzled for a couple days. It gets harder to stick to this. I'll have to really fight against the friction and try to get back on track. Cafes and this rest day to organize should help. Fingers crossed! Huel + Protein: I'm getting back at this. I re-upped and am ready to go! I didn't exercise yesterday b/c I was really tired + garmin was buggin' out. I should try to get back on track today!
Watchlist+ USB only: I got 2 with this. That's pretty good. I got the patreon, but that should only be after. Maybe I can find a way to download? That would be fun. Some new stuff there.
Cafe Fri/Sat/Sun: Not applicable now, but it will be in a couple days! Let's get to Kyu and do some work!
Today's Writing and Reading Goals have helped. It pushes me to focus on specifics to keep all projects moving along! Also, it lets me feel a bit accomplished at the end of the day. It's important to feel good sometimes. The general mode seems to be feeling like a failure
:(
Well, let's tackle this day!

Mid-week reflection:
Big Picture: This is the only one I haven’t been doing well on. I guess it’s because it requires reflection and creating? I’m only used to that with writing. And that took a while to break past that mental barrier. I also to create new plans to implement moving forward. A lot of friction for that. So I’ll have to commit to getting this done on Wednesdays b/c it’s a keystone habit. Hmmm.
Huel: I wasn’t too good at this. Monday, I went to watch the Brutalist. Is that when I ate the huel? Wednesday was supposed to be Rubio’s, but that didn’t work out. Sad stuff. So Tuesday is when I drank it. Ok. Timeline is settled now. Thursday and Friday, I went to Kyu. I’m doing ok with this. I re-upped, so yea. I’m thinking with no more Rubio’s, there’s no point for me to not do this.
Fiber: Crushing this. Enough said. It’s becoming something I pack on outings, so that’s really good! I should’ve brought some to Teddy’s tho… Oh well, next time!
Read/Write: Small sips and long swallows all day. I’ve been really good with reading and writing during my freetime. Having my 2025 goals in mind helps me break past the friction. Also, with internet blockers on, this is the only way to fight boredom. It took a while, but I finally set up a system that kinda works! Let’s keep going in this direction!
Café: With Allen’s mom working at Kyu Café, I’m set. No more distracting talks. That’s the place to go!
New Habit focuses:

Watchlist or USB only:

Mid-Week Board Reflections
Consistent Workout Time: I've been ramping up slowly. The wildfires have been rough for this, but I've made time to do a bit of skill drills during its days. I also have been doing the 6-minute HIIT drill. Hopefully, when the weather gets better (and I get a bit more fit), I can go back to full ball HIIT. I've also been doing light workouts with weights + body weights. For this, I'll have to ramp back up to the CJ workout. I think just trying that will help. So yea. With ball, the free-flow nature of my new skill days has me feeling like I'll be less rote and mechanical when I play. But we'll have to see.
Huel + Fiber: These kinda go hand-in-hand, and I've been crushing it. So maybe move it to somewhere else in the calendar? I'll have to make sure i don't overload with habits. So that's been awesome so far. The others, I haven't done yet, but maybe I can keep it small and work on the next ones?
-
For the resolutions (BIG goals), I'm slowly making progress on finishing the next Oxy 5 section. It was going to be a lot more basic, but I had a flash of inspiration and wrote a decent outline for how to add it. Now it'll all be about chiseling away. I also need to do the zine stuff. So that'll have to be the focus the upcoming week. The 90 day streak, I haven't been recording, so I'll have to get back with it. I'm liking how I've been able to bounce back and reset better. Of course, I still have a long ways to go, but it's a promising start. I just can't backslide, and Wednesday/Friday/Sunday reflections are key. It's just that these tend to go first when I want to work on other stuff. BIG no-no.
For read 50 books, I've slowed a bit, but I gotta go hard the upcoming week to stay on track. So let's read a good amount today. Just do.
And for Zine, I'll have to hit up Dustin about formatting it.
-
The video essays, I'll have to work on it more. Maybe keep it pair of 3s and put in new ones when we're done? So yea. -
Good reflection! This wasn't as tedious or tiring as I thought it'd be. whew.

Pretty Burnt Out
Sleep is really important for how I'm able to perform the following day. I'm realizing that if I don't get enough sleep, it's that much harder to nap and recharge. Then, I'm in this haze where I can't do anything. So I'll have to keep that in mind.
Caffeine and music is a good fix. I'll need to start transferring songs over, so I can listen to my favorite ones. Otherwise, I'll be put off by the fact that not all my favorite songs are transferred. The hard-drive breaking down has been a huge pain :(
So yea, it feels good to write about this. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Mid-Week Board Reflections
Finish 5 stories
I've been slowly making progress with this. I've read thru my Oxy 5 draft and made a few edits/tweaks. Now I have to go harder with the outlines I created. They are pretty good ones, but I sometimes wait too long for inspiration or ideal conditions to strike. I have to get it done THEN send it out to homies for edits. I also need to reformat the document folder + all the stories to phase out friction. Those are the two big obstacles.
2. Read 50 books
I'm crushing it with this. Don't think there's too much to reflect on here. I got 2 books so far. And I think I'll be able to finish Infinite Jest (if I go hard) + Amusing Ourselves to Death. The science fiction story should have a lot of progress made on it.
3. 90 day digital minimalism streak
A lot better with the new Freedom blocks. I have to add Googling to the operating procedure. So yea, let's go with that + READ
4. Zine
We got the manifesto! We got it baybeeeeee! Now it's time for the foreword. And we gotta do interviews and shorter pieces + recs
For the week's goals
Set up ticktick for writing. I HAVE NOT DONE THAT. ADDING IT TO TO-DO LIST NOW!!! It'll be another thing to help! If that doesn't work, I'll go for putting it on the board.
Set up workout time: it hasn't been a consistent time, but I'm getting it done. I guess it's hard with the fire raging on. So that'll be it. So I'm doing the most I can, which is pretty good for now. Once I have the chance, I can go harder.
For week's habits
Huel - I've been eating Huel everyday. It makes everything a lot easier! I've also been saving waaaaay more money at UCLA b/c of that!
Fiber post-meal. I've been good with that. So yea, pretty good on those ends.
Overall, I'm happy with where I am. It kinda seems a bit more sustainable this time around. Maybe it's because I'm taking one less class, which allows me to work on balancing my life. So let's keep this up. Starts of months, weeks, days are inherently more hopeful. We'll see how the system works during stress tests coming down the line!

Studying for the UCLA Korean Placement Test
I should've studied in Japan. Cramming for something sucks. I'm feeling kinda burnt out.
On a brighter note, I made a new system? I organized my Arc, went for more manageable digital minimalism goals, updated my freedom, and am using more boards. It's kinda working?
I'm always good on the first day though. I'll need to see how I do after a week or two.

A Salvaged Day
I was hella tired.
Didn't really do much.
But, a nap + an afternoon G-Fuel changed that.
Let's gooooo!
I'm thinking that I need the 3rd week to be a chill one.
