I know this is the end of the first arc and there's more story to come but this is the first time I've felt sanderson didn't wrap up an arc well. There's /a lot/ of cliffhangers/ loose threads that I feel like he hasn't done when wrapping up any of his previous arcs. I guess i sortof felt similar with skyward thinking back on all his writings but not to this degree.

To an extent I can understand the big final page one, and the larger cosmere plot being left open but the other stuff... idk

Is there an in text explanation or WOB that discusses the common ground between the dead eye spren and Shalash scratching out the eyes on her art? In ROW when adolin, shallan, and crew enter shadesmar, adolin even directly describes Maya as looking like a work of art with scratched out eyes.

From my current remembrance, I'd guess it's the way shalash's insanity is presenting in possibly seeing herself as an abandoned tool, and representing her broken bond in regards to the oathpact.

I dont remember where, but I also recall shalash saying something about not wanting to be deified before destroying her likeness so it could be a coincidence, but it seems too similar for that to be the case.

i literally gag every time i think about the adolin + kaladin duel in WoR….literally get dizzy and also a migraine lik,e the AUDACITY of kaladin to stand up in an arena full of lighteyes, snap an angsty one liner about honor (of all things kal! you choose now to nietzsche it up??) and then jump in the pit. what a dumbass. he literally dropkicked someone in FULL shardplate and then immediately healed himself like ‘no one saw!’ BOY you are in a CAGE MATCH everyone in the area has LITERALLY ALL EYES ON YOU

Kaladin Stormblessed, who makes 50 dramatic entrances every day, and Thespians Hoid, who makes 500 every hour, are outliers adn should not have been counted
