HiNative is looking for Translators!

HiNative’s community is quickly expanding, and more and more users are finding that they can’t use the app in their native languages.

Which is where you come in! Lang-8 would like to request help from HiNative users to test out the new language interfaces we are preparing for release on the HiNative iPhone app. We are also looking for translators to help translate HiNative into the rest of the 120 languages currently supported on the app!

Interface Testers (iPhone users only)

We will be holding beta tests for the various languages we have translations for and need testers to try out the app in their native languages, see if anything sounds or looks unnatural, and then let us know their findings. The beta test languages will include:

Spanish

Portuguese

German

Russian

Korean

French

Italian

Turkish

Chinese Simplified

Chinese Traditional

The tests will be carried out through Apple’s TestFlight application and we’ll be sending out invitations to the beta tests by email. For interested users, please send an email to support@hinative.com with the subject header, “Tester”, and your email address and native languages in the body.

General Translators

We are also always looking to expand the number of interface languages that HiNative supports and grow the HiNative community, and we need your help to get it done! For any native speakers of languages other than those listed above who are confident in translating from English to another language, and are interested in helping out, please contact us at support@hinative.com with the subject header, “Translation”, and your email address and native languages in the body.

Donnie Yen Talks Ip Man 3 and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Yen was understandably reluctant to say much about the highly secretive film. “I’m very excited to be the first Chinese actor to ever be in the biggest movie franchise in the world, Star Wars. My children love Star Wars and I saw Star Wars as a kid. It’s so great to be a part of it and I’m sure it’s going to be great.” When asked about his vision:

”I can’t really talk about that because of the arrangement between Disney and I, but I’m sure in a few months we’ll be able to talk about it.”

A few months!!!???
