Dear body. I am sorry I have been so cruel to you for so long. We've been through a lot together, we've danced, we've swam, we've traveled, we've rowed and we've been together every day of our 22 years. And I'm sorry to say but for most of that time I've hated you. I realise now that I shouldn't have. And I'm sorry. Because although you may have been bigger and heavier and lumpier than I would have liked, you still allowed me to do so many things that so many people are not fortunate enough to be able to do. Regardless of your size. And at the end of the day that's what it's all about, that's what life is about. Being grateful for everything that you are fortunate enough to have and living the guts out of every day we are given. Sure we could probably lose a few more kilos but that's not what I'm worried about now. I don't want to wait until I'm a certain number on the scale or size in jeans to live. Let's just live in harmony together. Dear body, I don't hate you anymore. Throwback Thursday.. Me at my year 12 formal and at my highest weight. I look back on old photos not with disgust or sadness but with pride at how far I've come and also with love. I was not extremely unhappy or in a bad place at this size. I had fun times and beautiful friends and belly laughs and each of those things and more make up who I am today. I don't want to look back at my overweight past with sadness and anger, because it is my past and it has shaped who I am. There were wonderful and not so wonderful times, all of which had nothing to do with my size. I am now just fitter, healthier and the best version of myself. Losing weight doesn't mean I want to erase all memory of my bigger past, it just makes me more proud of where I am now. #throwbackthursday #weightlossjourney #weightlossthoughts #onlylookbacktoseehowfaryouvecome

It is so easy to think, I will be happy when I'm at my goal weight, I will be happy when I fit size 8 jeans, I will be happy when my thighs don't touch. It's so far from the truth though. Our lives are made up of so much more than those insignificant things, so many more beautiful places and people and experiences to be happy about. It's up to you to choose when to be happy, I choose now. I've never been harder on myself about my body than now which really seems crazy to me. Which is why I'm choosing to be happy now, living a healthy lifestyle will sort the rest out. For now, just be.

Just whipped up some Lemon cupcakes 🍋 with Greek yoghurt frosting to wind down from a big beautiful first day of Spring! I replaced butter with Greek yoghurt in the base to make these a bit healthier but the texture needs some work so I will share the recipe once I have sorted that out 😘 #healthyfood #healthybaking #bakingtherapy
