Hanako-kun Gift Exchange 2020

This is a gift for one of the people I was assigned for the Hanako-kun Gift Exchange hosted by the lovely people over on @toiletboundwiki ! Some Akane content was requested and I’m always happy to write for our favorite spectacled vice president! Their online alias is Salty, but I wasn’t given a tumblr handle in the contact information. I hope you enjoy the piece!

Ever since the beginning of the school year, Akane had been uncomfortable in your presence. It wasn’t any fault of your own, no. He always enjoyed having you around. Seeing you brightened his day and hearing your laugh made his heart race. That was what confused him. He was in love with Aoi, after all. He’d spent countless years professing his feelings for her and they had always been a part of each other’s lives.

You, however, you were someone completely different. You were just as kind and compassionate as Aoi was, and it wasn’t a surprise that you got along with his dear childhood friend quite well. He’d known you since middle school. The two of you had been in classes together multiple times throughout the years, but it wasn’t until high school that he’d begun to put in the effort to learn more about you. Since then, not a day had gone by where he didn’t discover something about you he hadn’t known before.

It was honestly driving him nuts, and he hadn’t gotten a good night’s sleep in quite a while. He’d convinced himself that he was in love with Aoi, right? If that was the case, why couldn’t he get you off his mind? Even while he was conversing with his childhood crush, you still lingered in his thoughts. As he made his way through the school’s hallways, he’d almost missed the sound of a sliding door opening and closing and soft footsteps against the wooden floors. Akane turned his gaze to the source of the noise and was greeted with the sight of you leaving the student council’s meeting room.

“Oh, hello Akane-kun,” you greeted him with a small wave.

“H-Hey! What are you still doing here so late?” Akane wanted to punch himself for the embarrassing voice crack he began his query with.

“Not much. Minamoto-senpai just asked me to help with some student council duties today. Pretty strange, isn’t it?” you snickered a bit and the way you covered your mouth in an attempt to hide your amusement made Akane’s heart flutter. “Shouldn’t he have asked you? You’re the vice president, after all.”

“Yeah, he really should have asked me to help,” he let an awkward chuckle escape him as he massaged the back of his neck. He could feel how clammy his palms were as he adjusted the papers in his other hand. “Sorry for the trouble. I’ll talk to him about it later.”

“It’s no problem,” you waved away his concerns with a flick of your wrist. “I’m happy to help. Besides, it gives you a bit of a break. You have enough on your plate as it is.” And there was that amazing smile again. Your eyes crinkled just enough to give them a soft, ephemeral look to them as the corners of your mouth turned upward ever so slightly. It was a warm and inviting expression. One he rarely ever say you grace anyone else with the sight of and one he could spend hours staring at if you allowed him.

“Y-Yeah, I guess if you- uh… put it that way,” Akane fumbled with his words a bit. “Thanks for your hard work.” The two of you stood in a momentary and slightly awkward silence, neither of you wanting to say goodbye to the other quite yet.

“Hey,” the spectacled vice president was the one to break the stillness after working up a bit of courage. “If you want, I can walk you home. It’s dangerous to walk home by yourself this late and we can stop by a convenience store on the way there. I can get you something there as a thank you.”

You looked surprised for a moment and he was scared he had said something wrong.

“Yeah, that sounds great,” you gave him another radiant smile with your response, and Akane let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. It was that moment in the sunset lit hallways of the school that he realized that he’d fallen in love with you. As you both made your way to the school’s entrance he decided that he’d tell you how he felt soon. And if the faint blush that dusted your cheeks wasn’t the light playing tricks on his eyes, he might be lucky enough to have his feelings returned.

Hanako

He’s a bit surprised you went out of your way to protect him.

He’s a ghost, you know? He’s not actually alive, so it’s not like he’d die if he got hurt.

Hanako would tell you off about protecting yourself over him. As someone who’s still alive and can still be seriously hurt, your well being is a bit more important than his own in a fight.

It still warms his heart to know that you want to protect him. It’s been a while since someone came along who cared that much about him.

Kou

He beats himself up a bit at his blunder. He left himself open again and you had to go out of your way to remedy that.

He’d give you a quick thanks if you were in the heat of battle and make sure that he had your back as much as you had his.

He’d check you afterward to make sure you aren’t injured and gush about how cool you looked while you were protecting him.

He assures you that next time, he’ll be the one protecting you. He’s a man, after all, and it’s only natural he protects the people important to him.

I’ve only had this blog for a short time and I’m very grateful for all your support. To celebrate reaching 100 followers, I’ll be drawing any JSHK OC for the first three people that direct message me. I have a small list of things I’m not comfortable drawing, but I don’t think any of them will apply too much to any requests I get.

You and Sakura couldn’t be more different. You’re rather extroverted and temperamental while Sakura is more calm and introverted. One of the things that keep the two of you together, though would have to be her ability to calm you down. She has a way of talking you down when you’re about to beat someone into next week that’s actually pretty impressive. While the two of you don’t share many interests, Sakura is a quiet supporter of your love for volleyball and video games and is always surprisingly happy to listen to you talk about your hobbies since she doesn’t tend to speak much herself. She has Tsukasa and Natsuhiko bothering her a lot, but having someone who isn’t as troublesome fill the silence is nice.

He loves having a tall, athletic s/o. The life of a human involved with supernaturals is a tough and kind of dangerous one, so knowing that you can somewhat hold your own is a bit of weight off his shoulders.

The taller you are, the more fun it is to hang off of you. He’ll always be hanging onto you in some way.

The teasing does bother him a little bit, especially since you’re not as embarrassed when he teases you back. He’s always been the one that was good at teasing and it’s really weird to be on the other end.

He’ll constantly compliment you on your abilities because some of the things you can pull off are genuinely impressive.

“Whaaa! Look at [Y/N]! So cool! So strong!”

Yashiro

Oh, baby, tall and athletic is just her type. At least, it’s one of them.

If you’re on any sports teams, you can bet that she’s at every one of your practices and games with a cold towel and waterbottle ready for you when you decide to take a breather.

She thinks your tomboyish personality is really cool and she always gushes about all the things you’ve done that have impressed her, even if they were really small gestures.

Having someone strong around to protect her is also a plus since she tends to get into trouble with supernaturals more often than any human really should

Some friendly teasing here and there is fine. Hanako A lot of people tend to take a jab at her about her abnormally large ankles, but it does bother her a little bit, so it’d be best to keep teasing to a minimum.

Kou

For Kou, having an athletic s/o is really nice. Not many people can keep up with how quickly he bounces around the school.

Your tomboyish personality actually makes it really easy for Kou to be comfortable around you, and you both are known to be a rather tough couple.

The teasing does bother him just a bit since he’s supposed to be the man in the relationship, but it’s honestly impressive how tall you are considering he’s a bit on the tall side for his age too.

When he’s not running around the school trying to exorcise supernaturals or making sure that Yashiro doesn’t get hurt, he likes having friendly competitions with your sport of choice just to burn off some extra energy.

By the way, if you’re competitive, expect a lot of competitions between the two of you. It’s impressive how many things you can turn into competitions when you’re around each other.

I love this manga/anime so much! Could I please request a match up? I'm 5'5, short blonde curly hair and blue/green eyes; I'm kinda shy with people I don't know but very talkative and kind of a dumbass with my friends X3 i recently joined my schools cheersquad and I'm taking guitar class! I'm also constantly doodling, it's gotten me in trouble in class a few times ^^;; I'm pan so I fall in love so much it hurts ╥﹏╥ Thank very much for the match!!

No one was surprised when the two of you started dating. Because of your shyness, not many people knew you personally, but everyone knew you were a sweet girl who fell in love quite easily. It was actually very cute to see you open up more around Teru once he asked you to be his girlfriend. As cute as he finds your habit of doodling during class, he wants to keep you from getting in trouble, so he’d do his best to help you break that it. Between his student council duties and your afterschool cheer squad practice, you’re both very busy, but it just guarantees that you’ll both be staying late, so neither of you has to really wait for the other to walk home together. When he does get a break in his busy schedule, though, one of Teru’s favorite things to do is to laze around a bit and listen to you practice guitar. It’s a quiet moment in all the chaos that helps him relax.

Hanako slowly floated behind them. Careful to not make any sudden movements, he inched closer and closer until he could reach out to grab them. With a lunge, he jumped onto them, wrapping his arms around their waist and picking them up a bit off of the ground. They let out a rather high pitched yelp and squirmed a bit before realizing who had grabbed them.

“Hanako-kun!” they furrowed their brows and stopped thrashing about when he let their feet hit the ground.

“Haha! I got you, didn’t I?” he still held them in his arms as he nuzzled his nose into the crook of their neck. They let a frustrated growl escape them in response.

“I’m starting to think you just enjoy seeing me suffer,” they turned their nose up at him and he whined a bit, squeezing them a bit tighter in the hopes to earn their forgiveness.

“But [Y/NNNN]! I can’t help it! You’re just so cute when you get surprised!” Keeping his arms around their waist, he slithered around them. “Heeeeey! Heeeeeeeeey! [YYYYY/NNNNNNNNN]! You forgive me, right? Riiiiiiight?” He rubbed his cheek against theirs and gave his best puppy dog eyes. They peeked down at him out of the corner of their eye with a troubled expression written across their face. After a tense pause, they sighed and nodded. It was always hard for them to say no to him, especially when he looked so cute.

May I request a matchup? 💗 I call myself Lexie or Bunny at times, I have curly hair, brown eyes, and fluffy cheeks, my skin is light tan, and I'm a bit chubby. I am very forgetful, clumsy, and a bit of a ditz at times. But sometimes I can be funny and talkative to those around me. My hobbies are drawing, playing some games with friends, and singing karaoke when I'm bored. Mostly I love to daydream a lot about the adventures I could have. I don't mind anyone as long as they're fun.

You two are a very fun-loving couple. There’s rarely ever a dull moment when you’re together since you can always find something to talk about or something to do together. He’d definitely call you Bunny instead of Lexie, just because he thought it was a really cute nickname and you can bet that one of his favorite things to do is squish your cheeks. They’re just so soft it’s hard to resist!  Because of your clumsiness, Hanako often teases you about how much of an airhead you can be. It’s only because he finds it very endearing, and it makes it really easy to play pranks on you.

He loves to tease, so expect a lot of it, especially if you're shy.

He’s very affectionate and likes to be close to you. He’ll give you a lot of casual hugs while having conversations with people, which is pretty easy considering he can float around wherever he wants.

Despite how much he likes to tease, how you feel comes first and foremost, so if he noticed it started to really bother you he’d tone it down just a bit

As a supernatural, he’s aware of what kind of danger you’re in by associating with him, and he keeps an extra careful eye on you to make sure you’re not hurt by other supernaturals around the school.

I really like your writing it makes me uwu, haha. It'd be great if i could have a matchup. I'm a pretty short girl (5'0) and my body has no curves. I can get away with breaking my schools dress code and wear tight + shorts things. I've been described as cute uwu thanks to my body. I like to flirt and tease people but if they do that back I get kinda flustered. I also have a bad sleep schedule but I can function normally its just everything is funnier to me, so i'm usually seen laughing. thanks♡

I match you with Minamoto Kou!

A lot of people that don’t know both of you personally tend to avoid you. With how brash Kou can be and your constant breaks in the uniform dress code, the two of you are known to be a pair of troublesome delinquents at the school. People that do know you, though, know that you and Kou are actually a quite cute and kind couple. Because you’re so small, Kou is rather protective of you and often goes out of his way to make sure that you aren’t bothered by too many supernaturals at the school. You tend to tease Kou a lot, seeing as his over the top reactions are hilarious to you, especially when you’ve gotten a bit behind on sleep.
