wow, it’s been a while since i’ve been here, i’m sorry i’ve been inactive lately. honestly, around the time i started this studyblr, school was coming to an end for me. now it’s been back up and running for a few months, and much has changed. i now practice witchcraft, and i’m a major procrastinator. being online has changed a lot, haha. so this studyblr is gonna have a bit of a revamp, i hope thats alright with you. have a great day <3

also the cupcake was really good, i don’t remember the name of the bakery i got it from, but the frosting lowkey tasted like gingerbread house frosting.

stationery recommendations
i’ve made a stationery post, haha. Hope you enjoy. lmk if you have any of these or your opinions!
-tombow dual brush pens | these are the best for lettering! i mainly use these for titles in my notes or in my bujo. but one thing i really like is the blending quality, and when you outline them in black and put white pen on the inside, it looks so amazingggg
-tombow fudenoske brush pens | these are like the dual brush pens little cousin or something, they’re just smaller and a bit easier to control. they come in two sizes, with plastic nibs.
-micron pens | i'm not sure the real name of these, but micron sakura pens are the best for art and lettering subtitles and whatnot. i like to use the 08 and 01. 08 for subtitles, and the 01 for writing
-gellyroll black pens | speaking of writing, these are the only pens i will ever write with. i use the 06 a lot, its my favorite size. they write so smoothly too! not to mention that they’re really cheap!
-stabilo boss highlighters | these are literally so amazing, they always make a straight line and they’re small and aEsThEtIc. thats really all i  have to say about them, haha
-mildliner highlighters | these are just really photogenic. thats it. although i like the colors.
i don't really use too many different kinds of pens n stuff with my notes, but these are the ones i use the most.

app recommendations part two
like i promised, part two!
-goodnotes 5 (notetaking) | goodnotes 5 is a paid app ($8.00 USD) but its definitely worth it! There are so many features of this app that i love! You can zoom on small areas and write in them, switch from lined paper to blank paper (to clean up your notes) and i think its worth it! This app is mainly for ipads, and it works best if you have the apple pencil or a stylus
-google docs (notetaking) | i am 90% sure everyone here uses googles amazing tools, but out of all of them google docs is one of my favorite. You can easily share documents and work with others on the documents.
-google drive (organization) | google drive is also another amazing google app, its just extended storage for googles documents, slides, etc. but i like this app more than my files app because i can get really organized within the app. I can create files and make sections within the files and even color-code them!
-forest (productivity) | forest is a paid app ($2.00 USD) i really enjoy this app because you can ‘create’ a forest by growing trees. the way trees grow is by you setting a set amount of time on the app, and if you close the app to go on social media, text, etc it will kill your tree. i really like this app because it helps stop procrastinating. if you don’t want to pay for forest, you can get the free version, called flora. (flora only grows one tree i believe)
-microsoft to do (productivity) | i think this is just a website, but its exactly what it sounds like. You can make to do lists and check them off and even set a reminder time.

app recommendations for school
these are some school apps that my friend and i (ashleygenm) tested and really enjoy!
                                                            -x-
-photomath (learning) | with photomath, you can take a picture of your math problem/equation and it will solve it for you. it even gives you step by step instructions on how to solve them. some people use this app for ‘cheating’ and i don't endorse that, i mainly use it when i can't figure out a problem.
-duolingo (learning) | duolingo, the well known language app! duolingo can help you learn a lot of different languages, including fictional ones (klingon, etc)
i'm currently using duolingo to learn numerous languages. duolingo doesn't focus so much on grammar rules, etc, so you will have to do a bit of research to learn your chosen language. duolingo mainly focuses on teaching you words instead.
-grammarly (essay help) | i use grammarly as a second set of eyes for my essays. grammarly points out spelling and grammar errors, and with premium, you can do even more like check for plagiarism, etc
-tinycards (learning) | tinycards is made by duolingo, and uses the same teaching method duolingo does. people can make sets for literally every topic ever, and even duolingo makes their own sets for their languages. There are also paid sets made by chemists, biologists, etc for those topics.
-quizlet (learning) | quizlet has flashcards with every topic you could think of. theres fun ways to study your words and you can make sets with your classmates.
thats it for part one, ill be posting part two tomorrow!

note taking tips
-a note before we begin: i  r e a l l y want to start posting pictures but ive had no motivation to actually take notes and this week was killing me soooo yeah. dont be like me, haha-
 - ‘i dont take notes because theyre not aesthetic’ first off, your notes dont have to look like every single studyblr’s notes! lemme be honest, most social media notes aren’t the first draft! i keep two notebooks, one for the messy notes, and then another one for the ~aesthetic~ notes. maybe i’ll show yall a comparison of both notebooks :)
- make sure to only write down the important stuff. this depends on if its a lecture, assigned reading, etc. for lectures, i like to write down stuff they emphasize or say ‘this will be on the test’ for assigned reading, i mainly write down either the main points (if its a story, what furthered the progression of the story) and if its bio/math/history, i just write down the key points (dates, names, locations) if you really need to write down every single sentence, allot yourself time to do it.
- diagrams!! you have no idea how helpful diagrams have been in bio and math! i would have no understanding of any of the topics. you dont need to be precise in your first draft, and if theres a diagram in a textbook that makes life so much easier!

online school tips
i’m pretty sure many of us are doing online school right now, and i wanted to give you a few tips from personal experience :)
                                                             -x-
- please do NOT procrastinate! procrastination is very easy to do when you’re not in the presence of teachers. to help you not delay your work, i suggest not going on your phone until you’ve completed work. from personal experience, i always find myself watching youtube instead of doing work, so if you really need to, uninstall apps you go on a lot until you’re done. i also have a few apps that can help with procrastination, but that’ll be in a later post.
- make a simple schedule. if you know exactly what work you have to do, make a schedule to keep life a bit organized. also, if you have daily calls for your classes, make sure to schedule those in. a schedule might be a bit hard to achieve for people, so make a to do list with some basic times. i like to use microsoft’s to-do program, and i believe you can set reminders to do your tasks.
- take breaks. personally, my math work can be a bit annoying, and when i get annoyed, i start to put in less effort and that makes my grades slip. when you feel yourself starting to get annoyed or the work gets hard, take a short 10 minute break to text people, watch youtube, or whatever. it makes life so much more bearable
- call a friend! i personally have been doing all of my schoolwork with my friends, we’re in a studying gc. it makes working so much easier.
