i keep hitting a complete block when i go to try and write anything on my rp blog and i'm like. ok i guess. like. i made one centered around characters i like that are scifi themed, but for some reason i just can't like... get my brain to retain information about them. i can't "remember" how to write them, even the canon characters (and the OCs are just useless, i can't remember anything about them so it's like. what am i even here for you know). so i just kind of sit there like wow i would love to write something [static sounds]

i guess maybe i could try writing some prose on my own about the OCs i made?? maybe that would help solidify them in my mind. or something. augh.

the problem with addiction is not that it's pleasurable. it's not "having too much fun" disease. it's not even a requirement for addiction that you have fun at any point in the process at all and to be honest it is incredibly common that no pleasure is gained from substance use. imagining that addiction is about pleasure does two things: 1) demonises feeling good (there is nothing wrong with wanting to be happy/comfortable/etc), and 2) frames addicts as people who Like Having Fun Too Much. it's simply not useful to frame things this way as well as just fundamentally not being true

Enjoy a drink on one of my special coasters. Yea I custom made them (the coasters) to be so light the drinks condensation makes em stick to the bottom of your glass, but still heavy enough that when it (the coaster) finally clatters to the ground it's loud as fuck and shatters your nerves and makes you spill your drink everywhere. The best part about Homestuck was how it defied convention and ascended past the medium that it took place in. It’s what inspired me the most, honestly. It was wordy as all hell because it was mostly text chats that talked about insanely convoluted game mechanics and a lot of the character came from typing quirks and other ways to play with that medium (especially with characters like Doc Scratch or pretty much anything with the Felt).

What could possibly go wrong with adapting it into an animated series?
