Name: Marie Valerie Placide
Occupation: Jewelry Designer
Marie Had a  Chance to move to NY from Haiti with her son after the Tragic earthquake. Somewhere along the line designing jewelry transformed from a recreational activity to a full-time pursuit.
Q: When did you realize designing jewelry was your passion?
A:  I’ve always been an artsy person. I started making jewelry in 2010 as a hobby but it really didn’t take long before I knew that’s what I wanted to do forever.
Q:  What was the first piece you’ve ever made?
A: The first piece ever was a blue, red, and coral piece with toggle beads. I was so happy when I finally found the tricks on how to close the ends…I’ve been getting better since! (Smiles)
Q: What inspires you to create?
A : We live now in a world where everyone is so much into fashion. All those pictures, photographs, magazines, celebrities and tv shows can be amazing sources of inspiration to me. However, I am firstly and mostly inspired by the beads, their colors, textures and lengths. Each bead talks to me in a different way and I let myself guided by that vibe to create the piece I have in mind.
Q: If you could accessorize  any celebrity  who would it be and why?
A: So many to name! But if you allow me I will pick the following three: Solange, Michelle Obama and Victoria Beckham.
Q: I’ve noticed your African pieces have meaningful names, do you think of a name and then create ? Or is it after you’re done, the essence of it sparks a meaning ?
A: I’ve always wanted to do the African line. It a big hit. I usually name them after I’m done and chose the very positive real African name to match the positive vibe behind my business.
….Tell me a little bit more about yourself, and if there’s anything else you’d like to add feel free to do so.
I am a hardworking woman who is not afraid to fail. I will start over and over again until I finally make the right way. Proud Haitian mother. Outspoken. Courageous. Multi-talented professional. Owner and Designer of Bohiomania, exclusive and unique handmade jewelry line, currently living in the US, promoting Haiti through my work by selling online, in

Name : Myrdith Leon-McCormack
Occupation : Celebrity Manicurist
Myrdith Leon-McCormack has been in the fashion industry over 20 years. Prior to that she worked at a salon. The editor of Black Ellegance magazine came to the salon and loved Myrdith’s work. She invited her on set , while there Myrdith met with celebrity makeup artist Peter Brown. She became his mentee and during fashion week Brown introduced her to agent Bradly Curry. From then on shes been published in major magazines such as Essence, Allure, Glamour, Vogue, Elle, Nylon, GQ, Harpers Bazaar, and much more. What amazes me is that all this success stems from a girl that migrated from Haiti to Brooklyn at six year old. It just goes to show that anyone of you reading this CAN live your dream.
Her portfolio consist of :
Beyonce,  Iman, Beverly Johnson, Kelly Rowland,Naomi Campbell, Kate Hudson, Idris Elba, Sarah Jessica Parker,   Ertha Kitt, Eva Mendes and Kate Moss, to name a few.
Shes currently a columnist for Huffington Post, has her own nail care brand M2M, and has an agency to showcase artist in their element.

Name: Egmine Laroc (@thatmochaa )
 1/2 of  #MochaSweeties ( Youtube makeup channel)
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLLkBzPyDNvZ6lahmgy6w5g/videos
Q&A interview :
Q: When did you fall in love with the art of makeup?
A:  I fell in live with makeup about 2 years ago. I was walking in a wedding and it was the first time i was ever required to wear full face makeup and so days before the wedding i asked my sister if she could do my makeup for me so i could see what its like. From that day on I was in love
Q: What inspired you to start a Youtube page?
A: The youtube page MOCHA SWEETIES features my cousin Tracy and I. I my self wanted to start the youtube page because youtube is an open forum where you just bounce ideas back and forth and I wanted to share my thoughts and creativity and also learn new things as well. Ive always had a youtube account and when you watch the videos, depending on what your passion is you realize hey I can do this too. All you need is a camera and a movie editor and you're good.
Q: From your Perspective do you think makeup is a tool of style or a mask to hide imperfections?
A: I think that makeup is something that's used for style but also it enhances features. Lets say for instance you are going on a date and you are wearing a simple plain black dress. You want to add a little more pow or element of sexy to your outfit. Make up can help you with that but giving you a more seductive look by adding a nice smokey eye. But also lets say you have a chubby face and you want your face to appear a little more slim you can always do a really great contour to bring out your cheek bones that are there but just don’t stand out as much. Make up is very versatile. everyone uses it for their own personal reason, but in the end I think it just helps us express ourselves better.
Q: Summer is right around the corner, what are some of your style tips to transform from day to night?
A: Summer is quickly approaching and it is my favorite season especially because I am a summer baby. Many of us have jobs so we always want that neutral look it the day time but then a very fun night look for when you go out for drinks or wherever with friends at night. One way that i think you can transform from day to night is by first of course going for the more subtle neutral palettes to do your day time eye makeup. Then at night go for a very dramatic winged out eye liner and a very bold lip color.
Q: What cosmetic item you'd advise a girl to never leave the house without ?
A: A cosmetic item that I advise no women should leave their house without would have to be lipstick. You must always carry your lipstick. Think about it, you are always using your mouth. You talk all day, eat, and drink, your lipstick is bound to wear off. You are always going to have to reapply. Plus, you always want to keep a nice freshly coated lip.
She adds :
Makeup is something that I never thought I would like. i remember when I was younger I would see my sister doing her makeup and I’d be like roe how can you put all that on your face. Even tip this day I still have to get use to having a bold lip color on. I always go for the neutral colors. But for the summer I’m going to take my own advise and go for that bright pink or vibrant purple lip at night that stands out. Makeup gives you the ability to come into your own. Id compare it to getting a new outfit. You know when you have a new outfit everything new from your head to the tip of your towed you feel good. That's how makeup makes you feel. It gives you that damn I'm hot element. Not that you’re not hot without it but its just a little extra umph!

Name: Tecla ( iamtecla)
Occupation: Singer
I've never done a post on a musical artist before so this is exciting. I'm ran across Tecla's song "Money" on youtube and instantly fell in love.I love how upbeat and careless the song is. It gave me sudden vibes of M.I.A and her voice reminded me of Kelis . I decided to google her and when reading her bio it stated that shes a descendant of Haiti.
Tecla was born in New York to Haitian and Italian immigrants. she delved into music as a child, playing piano. from then on Tecla began singing, rapping, and producing. she describes her style of music as "afro/funk/caribbean/tropical/pop ".  Im kind of sold on her already. I love anything unusual and atypical so I can wait to hear more of her music.H
shes been featured In:
-Vibe
-The Huffington post
-MTV iggy
-Nylon mag
- Paper mag
& much more
