I am writing to you, appealing to our shared humanity, to help me to share and reblog my story and my family’s fundraising campaign. 🙏

Their lives had been upended by the genocide. Shurooq, her husband, and their three children were now homeless, without a source of income, and without hope for the future. They had lost their businesses and their home, leaving them with nothing but the cold streets and troubled hearts.

Their children were suffering greatly as a result of the horrific events. They had lost the security and stability they once enjoyed and were now facing new health and psychological challenges that threatened their lives. As a father and husband, he felt powerless in his ability to provide adequate protection and care for them.

Their child, only a year and a half old, was experiencing hardships far beyond his tender age. Since the genocide broke out, they had to flee their home and seek refuge in a tent in a displacement camp. The child lived in extremely difficult conditions, deprived of safety and stability. The tent offered no adequate protection from harsh weather, and food and medicine were scarce. He suffered from malnutrition and illness, lacking basic healthcare. He couldn't play or grow in a healthy and suitable environment. Their only dream was to see him grow up in a safe place full of opportunities.

They needed help to secure the funds necessary to escape the destructive genocides and find a safe and stable environment. Their goal was to build a better future for their children, far from the turmoil and hardships they currently faced.

made in honor of the now-extinct population of Falasteen crocodiles, the sunbirds that almost lost their names, and everyone else surviving the attempted erasure.

posted the other week as part of an ongoing fundraiser offering free prints and paid, with 100% of proceeds going to Care for Gaza. it has since been translated, wheatpasted, and flown on kites all over the world from Saigon to Scotland...!!!

monetary donations are never a substitute for holistic political action, and a push for a different world... but the shows of solidarity and support have lifted my spirits so much.

this is now available on a t-shirt too, screenprinted by hand in Texas!same deal: all profits go to food, medicine, and other critical supplies via Care for Gaza (& the PCRF). thank you for sharing.

🚨TIME-SENSITIVE!!!

@moatazart is a graphic design artist and self-taught journalist living in north Gaza. He has supported our blog with updates directly from Gaza City, and both our page and the Tumblr community owe him an enormous debt for risking his life to share the truth.

Moataz, his wife Maryam, and their baby girl Maria were attempting to evacuate to Egypt following the destruction of their home and the siege of Al-Shifa Medical Complex that trapped them for weeks. They hoped to get to safety in Egypt, and find work so they could raise the funds needed to return to Gaza and rebuild their home. However, the day before they were set to travel, the occupation illegally seized control of Rafah crossing. The crossing is now closed and it is not known when it will reopen.

Moataz and his family are now trying to raise funds to rebuild their home after it was destroyed by lOF bombardment. They will not be able to raise the required funds on their own if they cannot reach Egypt, so they need our support in order to rebuild their home.
