Since gw2 doesn't employ a Limit Break/Mystic Arte/Ultimate or whatever the name system, what would your characters' special attacks look like? Think something that would either require special conditions met or have at least 5-10 minutes of cooldown, gameplay wise.

Ideas: attack name, is it a joint attack, visual and audio description, lines spoken during cast, etc etc.

Ok i was curious and across 30 characters i'm using 6 gemstore armour skins if I counted right (one of them on multiple characters tho)

Not trying to make a point bc the whole argument that fashion = p2w is wack to begin with; and for all i care you can dress your 72 characters exclusively in gem skins if it looks cool. But you know. Idk whats up with the "only store skins look good" mentality that seems surprisingly common. Do people not know about the wardrobe preview?

I really only play one MMO, Guild Wars 2. I play it because it's always been respectful of my time.

It never negatively pressures me to play it everyday.

It never punishes me for taking time away and returning.

It never forces me to grind for hundreds of hours relying on RNG.

It never forces me to have a coordinated group of people with a consistent schedule.

I love it for all that. It's not like most MMOs because of all this. It's also unfortunately what a lot of "more intense" gamers complain about. They complain about it being too casual but honestly it just sounds like they're upset they have little to no way to gatekeep the experience.

God forbid you have other hobbies or games to play! God forbid something happens in your life and you need to take time away! Instead of punishing you, the game is good at just welcoming you right back in where you left off. It's comforting and honestly I hope it never changes. It's a reliable game I can always return to no matter how long it's been.

I've seen two or three "I'm leaving" posts about how the Guild Wars 2 fandom as a whole is not as chill or as cool as it used to be from accounts on here and on Bluesky, and as a self appointed representative of the silent majority that is that whole?

I have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.

There was apparently drama no one wants to talk about that happened behind the scenes? Look, I get that your little slice of the fandom can feel like it's the whole thing, but the rest of the fandom is, in my experience, not a part of that drama, is just as inviting and cool as it always was, and generally has no idea what the fuck happened.

Can you maybe not disparage the whole fandom because your little corner of it went to roost in drama town?
