This is a really fun AU with plenty of winks at canon. I am in LOVE with all of the backstories, especially the bits in the end-notes that offer a little more explanation, and everyone is such a perfect blend of their canon personalities and their what-if major life events that it’s incredible. Setsuna is especially interesting in this AU because he still grew up as a guerrilla fighter, but he was rescued and adopted by Klaus, so he’s more outgoing and assertive than in canon. IDK man, this was just really fun to read and think about!

After moment’s hesitation he raises a gloved hand to the glass, pressing his palm lightly against the window, low, by his waist. He meets your gaze, and it’s a concession, you realize. He doesn’t smile; neither do you, but you press your palm against glass of your own, mirroring his, and his shoulders slack enough for you to notice.

Chapter Four: Act 2: Part One        You wake up in the ship-wrecked Ptolemaios.

Chapter Five: Intermission        We interrupt your regularly scheduled program for backstory.

Chapter Six: Act 2: Part Two        Selar’s wearing a shell-shocked expression and holding a hand saw, and you can see the sparks when she starts cutting; they’re blinding in the corner of your eye through the curved glass. You don’t have the mind to pay attention to anything but Ian’s intense face as he watches her work, a gloved hand resting on the glass above your heart, fingers drumming on the glass.
