I camez from dem Snakeybitez! Dey’z ‘ow I learn ta grow extra speshul squigz! Every Orkz been in dere spot at sum point!
Tumblr media
The Snakebites prefer tradition to technology, shunning things like forcefields and vehicles in favor of protecting themselves with war paint and riding into battle on huge boars. Depending on how fundamental they are, they may remain as Feral Orks even after their civilization can advance to the next stage. Snakebites’ symbol is the venomous serpent, and they always take some along so they can have initiation rituals where Orks endure being bitten.

Craftworld Naahal
Naahal is one the lesser known aeldari craftworlds, dedicated to the worship of Valin Neti, godess of children, and her twin guardians, the cosmic wolves Neha and Nitya. Located northeast of the Eye of terror, the aeldari of Naahal seek out any sign of chaos, fighting a constant war with its abominations. If the slightest threat of chaos is foreseen around Naahal, or its neighbor craftworlds, the craftworld’s forces will be compelled to raze the offending region to the ground.
For all that, Naahal aeldari are a jovial people who befriend others easily and feel a strong desire to experience the galaxy beyond their own craftworld. Inner strength and inner clarity are seen as two great virtues embodied by the cosmic wolves.
The world-rune of Naahal, the “cosmic wolves”, is a reference to the aeldari myth wherein Neha and Nitya kept watch over the sleeping form of the young goddess, Valin Neti, throughout the War in Heaven, even though they hungered. Themes of protection are important to Naahal aeldari, as well as facing one’s own fears - they believe embodying the cosmic wolves’ noble act delivered them from the Fall.
Head of State: High Princess Vaalya, the Waking Moon
Religion: Eldar Mythology - Valin Neti, Aeldari Goddess of Children, and the cults of Neha (Red) and Nitya (Blue)
Location: Northeast of the Eye of Terror
Speciality: Dreaming Swords Aspect Warriors
Hero: Phoenix Lord, High Prince Faaram the Cinder Moon
Colors: Silvery, with red or blue scarves/mantles, depending on cult allegiance
The people of Naahal hail from the lost world of Isilme, Valin Neti’s grand shrine. Before the Fall came, her followers hoped a miracle would return the Dominion to a state of child-like innocence. While the day never came and the nightmare never ended, Isilme, untouched by the spiraling madness afflicting the rest of the empire, become a veritable treasure trove of pre-Fall craftsmanship, in particular metal-working. Among the highest achievements of Naahal armorers is their ability to recreate Bel-Anshoc armor styles, among others.
To ward off falling into excess, Isilme aeldari practiced a curious denial of the self: they never used “I”, “me”, or “mine”, and referred to themselves and each other only with titular pronouns such as “a poet” or simply “a man, a woman” or “a friend”. These speaking habits have loosened considerably in Naahal - it’s still considered vulgar to use names or speak of one’s self directly with strangers or mere acquaintances, but between friends and lovers the use of personal pronouns and names is seen as a sign of trust and intimacy.
Appearance
Naahal aeldari are lithe, with olive skin and messy heads of long dark hair - brushing it is, of course, a vanity. While Isilme’s population originally had green eyes, proximity to the Eye has given Naahal aeldari what their fellows refer to as “mongrel” heterochromic eyes.
Society
The forces of Naahal do not organize into irregular militias, nor do they limit the psychic arts to a few. Instead, the craftworld’s military strength organizes into two distinct but unified armed bodies, each aligned with a Naahal cult - Naahal’s Guardian Watch. This is a well-trained volunteer force, sent out in mixed groups ranging from of a couple of warriors to an overwhelming force supported by heavy assets. To be part of the Watch is a great source of honor.
When the time for war comes, the warriors of Naahal don not guardian armor, but silvery bodysuits of segmented armor. The art of forging Val-Anshoc armor, as the style is called, is a tightly guarded secret that doesn’t leave the craftworld. In alloy components and appearance, Val-Anshoc armor is not unlike drukhari kabalite armor (minus spikes and ouchies) yet the armor is psycho-responsive to its wearer, suggesting the forging process involves physical as much as psychic means. The forces of Naahal do posses guardian armor, usually worn by the inhabitants of the hotter salt-flat domes, but even these have an item of Naahal metalwork. It’s the same with the craftworld’s ghost warriors.
Watchers wrap long scarves - either red or blue - around their necks according to their chosen faction. Along with other standard fighting techniques, the Watch fights with wild abandon, in a brutally unpredictable but coordinated style.
Those aligned with Neha, the Embered, believe in their own unbreakable wills to see them through battle. These are usually hot headed individuals. In war, they don a length of red cloth and wield a power-longsword and a hooked dagger for parrying and disarming. Neha Watchers develop their psychic senses to a very limited capacity. Just as a regular aeldari can will a door open with a psychic pulse, adherents of Neha practice to instinctively will unnatural strength into their own bodies. Just like Seers use runes to safeguard themselves, Neha Watchers wear wraithbone rune rings for this one singular use of their psychic potential. Rune rings break with over-exertion, a sign the wearer lacks self control and a source of shame. Most of Naahal’s ghost warriors belong to this cult.
All of Naahal’s Autarchs are Neha adherents. They wear ancient and heavily enameled Bel-Anshoc armors, all of which are priceless, and wield the dreaded dreamswords.
Those alinged with Nitya, the Stellar Guide, believe in their strength of spirit to see them through battle. Typically, these are the craftworld’s cooler heads. In war, they don a length of blue cloth and wield a singing spear. Nitya Watchers are, in truth, the craftworld’s warlocks (indeed the majority are what other craftworlds would understand as warlocks), seers, healers, and sages. Along with runes, Nitya Watchers also possess rune rings, though they are not entirely necessary, to better resist psychic and physical attacks. Naahals spiritseers, as well as its wraithseers, are also adherents to Nitya.
All of Naahal’s “Farseers” are Nitya adherents. They wear ancient Bel-Anshoc armors inscribed in runes and wield lethal sword-spears that shine with the cold light of lost moons.
In their own subtle ways, Naahal’s more conventional Aspect shrines - Howling Banshees, Fire Dragons, Dire Avengers - also follow this dichotomy.
Personal honor, to be seen as fearless and undaunted, is supremely important. Being very honorable, for example, enables access to Naahal’s highest skilled armorers and weapon makers. To dishonor and ally, or even worse, the vulnerable, is considered the greatest source of shame. The aeldari of Naahal consider themselves to be above the prejudices of their fellow craftworlders, and have always challenged their conservative beliefs whenever possible. And yet, in their interactions with their kin they see their personal preferences as the only way, and completely ignore the validity of other views. Naahal aeldari may self-righteously demand the impossible of their allies while remaining intractable in their own positions - all disagreements become personal, to be misunderstood is to be betrayed. For these reasons, it is unusual to see Naahal working with any of the major craftworlds in great numbers. Despite that, the warriors of the Naahal Watch can be often found in the retinues of corsairs, far-travelled seers, and even archons.
The aeldari of this craftworld believe the best companion is a canyx. The four legged familiars they breed are particularly large and floofy and pointy eared. For their own good, grynix are not allowed in Naahal. Canyx are often seen with Watcher raiding parties.

Igneous Ferrum: the vile Ork is a constant reminder to all servants of the Emperor. The green menace must be stopped whenever a sign of a leader rises up from the masses. Planets have lost their entire populations and the Imperium has lost hold of several systems just because of this one vile warboss. Grushmak has no honor and I will make it my sworn duty to hunt down the Xenos filth until I destro him and every member of his horde!
Grushmak Bonecrusha’: Iggy seems ta enjoy me company in a fight! Wunda’ if he wants ta ‘ave a beer n’ snack wiff me before next battle!
