Swifties. @taylorswift ‘tis the damn season filter has never been more relevant. Total mom fail 🤦🏼‍♀️
Also “long story short” was unintentional but it’s one of my favorites from evermore so it tracks 🤷🏼‍♀️.
Would Taylor ever make this mistake? The answer is no.

CHAMPAGNE PROBLEMS
I haven't seen anyone else reference this so maybe I'm WAY off -- but I get major Gilmore Girls vibes from Champagne Problems.
I interpret it as two individuals who come from wealthy, societal families who are expected to live a certain way and settle down with a certain "kind" of person... so when she says she can't give him a reason for why she said no, it's that kind of Lorelei Gilmore story of knowing she is expected to be with this person and it would be a comfortable life with a nice guy, but she's "wild at heart" aka "fucked in the head," and can't adhere to that life.... thus "Champagne Problems."

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR FAVORITE GIRL!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
* every tour we have moved closer and closer to the stage. We were so excited to be front and center during folklore! But that’s okay! Next time 😉. Until then, we will continue on like little woodland fairies enjoying folklore and evermore 😁

There’s a new Swiftie in the building. @taylorswift meet Jeff the Squirrel, my newest rescue. He’s really diggin’ folklore. Says it reminds him of his woodsy home. The Lakes is a particular fave because he relates to burrowing under things 💕

The more I think about last night (aka haven’t stopped thinking about it at all 😳,) the more I’m seeing this performance as a total boss power move. There was far more intention than just country radio backing her song. I think Taylor wants people to be aware of her influence in the music industry and how it’s not limited by genre or contract or money. She’s one of the greatest of all time at this point. She’s earned the status and respect and the right to move through her craft as she very well pleases.

My response to people who think “The Lakes” is a message to fans that Taylor Swift is leaving the industry:
Nah, she’s not going anywhere. If anything, I think folklore was an experiment for her. To see if she could leave the industry games and rollouts behind and pull an Adele. I don’t think she ever intends to quit music, but she will quit the media circus that is/can be the industry. Beyonce and Adele are proof that you can be powerhouses in the industry, releasing successful projects, without playing the game. Privacy IS possible. Taylor is still very early on in this “private life” thing. Three years of privacy is relatively short considering how long she has very publicly lived her life. It will only get more private as people realize oh, ok. This is new Taylor. This isn’t just a phase. We aren’t going to see every aspect of her life. Intense scrutiny will end. Intrusive speculation will end. People will adjust to her “new normal.” She’s in her “experimentation” phase of her career. She will play with new sounds, new methods of release, and will start to put out projects that don’t demand as much media attention.
Signed, a girl who doesn’t know Taylor but feels like I get her on a deeply spiritual level 😂

‪The best body of work Taylor has ever put out. Her genius at play. Her ability to tell a story. To blend reality with fantasy. Humanizing the bad, reminiscing on the good. An album created not for radio play, but for the person who gets lost in the art of music. ‬

‪OH MY GOD @taylorswift !!!
Could you do a live stream of some of these songs at home making these recordings virtually useless or would that somehow be putting you at risk in the masters contract agreement?‬

Omg. Defending Taylor Swift is fucking useless.
“TaYlOr PlAyInG tHe ViCtIm AgAiN.”
Why is it that when she does something every other celebrity does, she is playing the victim?
She didn’t release the tape but she responded, as did Kim, and yet Taylor is the one playing the victim.
Taylor writes breakup songs, she’s the victim. Dua Lipa does it (and Demi, Ed Sheeran, The Weekend... basically every artist ever...) and she is a queen.
Taylor talks about her mental health and she’s a victim. Ariana Grande does it and she’s brave.
Like how tired are we? It’s amazing to me that people don’t see their own disdain for Taylor separate of the victim card. They just need a reason for why they hate her and that’s the easy one because it’s popular.
Make it make sense.

Celeb drama is so weird, man.
This is how it would play out, in my head, in “real life.”
Kim Kardashian is a 40 yo mother. She has lived enough life and is a smart enough woman to know how to respond to such a public feud. She shouldnt be furthering the drama and making jabs. An example of how it should be handled:
“I apologize for any part I have played in the ongoing feud between Taylor and myself. Initially I reacted emotionally because I felt the need to defend my husband. I misunderstood why Taylor was upset. From my perspective she had knowledge about the song and I believed she had given her approval. After hearing what Taylor has to say, I recognize that there was some misunderstanding on our part and Taylor was upset about a line in the song that she was not made aware of. I apologize to Taylor, her family, and her team and I would like to see this left in the past so we can all move on to more positive matters. I hate that this has blown up to such massive proportions and I wish Taylor nothing but the best.”
Easy. Mature. People would move on. Taylor would get the apology she deserves and Kim would come out looking empathetic and understanding as opposed to immature, shady, and catty.
